Rush is a Fae Guardian, a wolf-shifter whose enhanced abilities have made him a ruthless protector of Elphyne. His job is to protect the realm from the human enemy, and to ensure the sins of the past never come to pass again lest magic die forever. But one night of weakness resulted in a curse worse than death – exile. Now he spends his lonely time longing to be part of the living, once again … protecting them from monsters… until one mysteriously washes up on the shores of his lake.
Clarke is human. She’s beautiful, feisty, and fierce. She’s also the only person who can see him, speak to him, and touch him.
If he hands her over to the Order, she’s his ticket to having his curse removed. Unable to resist the opportunity, he tricks her into a bargain of obedience, never once suspecting his world is about to be turned upside down. The more he learns about this human enemy, the more he realizes she’s not the monster he’s been trained to believe. In fact, she’s capable of inciting passion he’d never dreamed possible again. But Clarke has a message from the past… sins are already repeating. This time, if they don’t stop the coming evil, it won’t just be magic that dies. It will be everything.

The Longing of Lone Wolves by Lana Pecherczyk is a wonderful story that I have had the privilege to read. Wow, what an exciting new series. I loved it! The author has created a mysterious and thrilling new world in this book. The storyline is gripping and all the characters are well-developed. It’s one of those stories which you just don’t want to end. You pick up the book and then you can’t put it down. And you want it to go on forever.
Rush has given up on everything. He has accepted his fate and now living the remaining of his cursed life quietly. He was a Guardian once and he has always done his duty well. Then he made a mistake and he has been paying for it since. When Clarke comes into his life everything changes. Once again, he has found a purpose, and even though he feels that his end is near, he will cherish the time he gets with her.
Clarke has woken up from a nightmare or maybe into one. Nothing is as it was supposed to be. The world she knew, is gone. And this new world is full of horrors she can’t even imagine. In all this, Rush is the only Fae she is willing to trust. Somehow she feels safe when she is with him. Now she just needs to find her place in this new world and maybe she will be able to escape the nightmares.
I love everything I have read from this author, but I have to say, this might just be my favorite book yet. I loved every second of it and I don’t think that I have enjoyed a story like this in a long, long time. This book has everything; mystery, adventure, romance, an exciting world, and most importantly, characters you can root for. It’s a complete package and I’d recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good book to read. And if you’re a fan of fantasy then that’s an added bonus.
First of all this was an absolutely incredible story with wonderful characters and chemistry. I couldn’t get enough of this first in series. Looking forward to the next book.
First time reading Lana’s work. I love the world she created. I enjoyed Rush’s story. Excited for more in this series!!
I really enjoyed it. I bought the book and have had it sitting in my kindle for a couple months. I finally read it. Now I’m going to read the rest of the series because if the others are anything like this one they’ll be awesome.
This is book one of the series and it is absolutely amazing!
Rush is an exiled wolf-shifter and Guardian who swore to protect the world from the humans who previously destroyed the world. Due to his exile, Rush is unable to interact or be seen by anyone. Well anyone until he found Clarke, a human.
This is a post-apocalyptic dystopian world with a fantasy twist, a combination of two of my favorite genres. Add in the heat between these two characters and you have a perfect recipe for an spectacular story.
I love the contrast with Clarke who keeps fighting on and the grumpy Rush who has almost given up. Clarke gives him the push to keep going and I absolutely loved it!
I completely loved this book! The world that Lana has created is stunning. I also love the underlining theme of conservation you see within the story. The Fae flourish because they revere nature and reject non-natural materials. This is a stand alone with an over arching storyline & I will give you a hint… book 2 is just as good, if not better then book 1!
I really enjoyed this book. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series. It was a fast read that I couldn’t put down. I read it in 1 day.
What didn’t I love about this book? It was awesome. It cuts me engaged the whole time where I didn’t even want to put the book down and go to sleep! It made me anxious for the next stories in this series. Give it a try!
I had to re do my review on this book
Rush and Clarke are perfect for each other they’re so many things going on but the author makes it all fit well together and leaves you wanting more for this series!
I loved everything about this story The love that builds up between Rush and Clarke is perfect.
Clarke is a strong heroine I love that. She’s made mistakes in the past world but she was pushed to the things she did and now she’s trying to do better.
Rush was cursed he lost everything but in his exile he learns a lot from just watching because no one sees a ghost.he forgets why he became a Guardian but meeting Clarke changes that
The prime who I personally don’t like at the moment has had a hand in what happened to rush but if she wouldn’t have done what she did Rush and Clarke wouldn’t have met.
I can’t wait for Throne story
Clarke had been frozen and woken in a new place and time and she came with terrible secrets. She had always been able to see into the future somewhat. Rush was a warrior protector that had been cursed so no one could see him. But as soon as Clarke woke up she could see Rush and needed his protection. Their journey through his time and land and discovery of each other was filled with danger, love, deception and a really fun read!

I love, love, love how this author is able to create such unique stories. The reader gets drawn in and wants to find out what this new world brings.
I will admit I became really confused because how the heroine was frozen in time was never truly explained or how the antagonists were in the future. Plus how was magic introduced? Some effect due to nuclear fallout?
I am really excited about the next book.
**RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW**
Nice start to this series
—>>> Fae guardian duties and Rush’s cursed situation come back to hit him full force when he comes upon a strange woman who is capable of seeing him, when no other can. She also has magic abilities, and Rush finds himself drawn to her and the possibilities she presents. Nice start to this series!
Looking for a paranormal romance that takes place after the apocalypse of Earth? Look no further because The Longing of Lone Wolves is absolutely phenomenal! It’s an adventure of trying to turn over a new leaf in a new world.
Clark wakes up in a lake and her last memory was of being in her apartment right before the world ended. This new world is full of strange creatures and magic. Something Clark is slightly familiar with due to her feelings of knowing.
Rush decides to use Clark because shes the only person who can see through his curse, even though shes a human.
These two are intense and when they finally got out of their own ways, they come together so hot the pages might explode!
A new world full of magic and shifter. A 5 star read!
No spoilers of any kind included.
I thought that The Longing Of Lone Wolves was freakin awesome!
This story was an amazing to get lost in, so amazing that I actually pouted when I got to the end of the book because I wasn’t ready to leave the world that I was visiting.
So it’s yes I definitely recommend this book because I have a feeling you’ll love it just like I did.

The first book in the Fae Guardians series with a very good storyline and it is a well written paranormal story. Fae Guardian, and wolf-shifter Rush and human Clarke ‘s story, there is suspense, drama, danger, villains, and love. I want to read the next book. I enjoyed the Deadly Seven series by this author and was excited to give this new series a try. It may be that this is the first book in the series and the author is establishing or at times over establishing that made this book seem to take forever where I ended up skipping pages as things seemed to plod along at a snails pace at times.
There were so many moving parts to this story that at times it was a bit hard to keep up with whom had a vendetta against whom, who wronged this one, who needed saving, who needed forgiveness then throw in Clarke and Rush with their constant bickering and I found I couldn’t really connect with any of the characters.
Rush being such a jerk from the beginning made it a bit of a challenge for me to warm up to him as things progressed. Clarke while at times came across as cheeky or maybe sassy after a bit her blundering into things without forethought just made me sigh.
For me this one was a bit of a miss, I’m willing to give the next one a try in the hopes that the author remove some of the unnecessary mundane bits and let the external factors drive the story more than needless conflict between the two leads.

An exciting blend of genres, this storyline gives you the undertones of the evils of humans and our recklessness. These characters have been well thought out and this authors skill at weaving a tale shines. A wonderful start of a series, the foundation is solid. Now on to see if the forbidden manages to be overcome. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
This is an awesome fae romance. I liked it a lot! It is mystical and interesting, with lots of drama and emotion.. Wonderful new series starter!

Falling for the enemy, a human!
This was a wonderful story of a fae that was trained to be a warrior until he’s banished. He’s been taught that humans are the enemy. He finds one washed up on his shore and thinks to turn her in and get his banishment canceled. But the more he’s around her he starts thinking that he’s could have been wrong about humans and definitely her. Will he turn her in? What will happen next? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
