ONE MAN’S CLUTTER
When Sarah Winston turns Ellington, Massachusetts, into New England’s largest garage sale for a day, it’s the small town’s biggest event since the start of the Revolutionary War–but without the bloodshed. That is, until a valuable painting goes missing…and the lifeless body of an Air Force officer is found in Carol Carson’s painting studio, his face perfectly framed with the … perfectly framed with the murder weapon–a metal picture frame.
IS ANOTHER MAN’S CLOVER
Sarah is mad as heck that someone used her town-wide garage sale to commit a crime–and frame her good friend Carol. She is definitely on this case…but it’s not easy rummaging through increasingly strange clues that point to cheating spouses, downright dirty investment schemes–even the mob. And Sarah will have to be very careful if she wants to live to bargain another day…

When a criminal uses the massive Longest Yard Sale in New England to cover up a crime, Sarah Winston is determined to find answers. She is determined to make sure that the police don’t arrest her friend. She needs help from her two dates in order to get to the bottom of the crimes.
Boy, is the love triangle in this series messy. I don’t enjoy love triangles as a rule and this one is hard for me because it’s so messy. I am enjoying the characters and the town. I really like Sarah as a character. She is a great character to read from. I’m enjoying getting to know this series and I’m hoping that the love triangle gets resolved soon so that I can enjoy the books more.
Can you imagine going to the LONGEST YARD SALE? Oh the bargains!! Planning the LONGEST YARD SALE oh no. Sarah has a lot going on with the sale but then a dead body shows up and her bestie is a murder suspect. Investigating is second nature by now but what Sarah finds out is that just about everyone… lies. The secrets and lies pile up (like my husband’s arms at the latest yard sale) and Sarah is weeding her way through to the truth. Of course the truth has a way of slapping you up side the head and Sarah finds out that not everyone is who she thinks they are.
I am really enjoying everything about this series. I am a little late coming to it but I have read and enjoyed other works by this author and knew I had to read about Sarah Winston, too. I’m glad I did! Each book stands well alone but start at the beginning and add a little more knowledge about Sarah, Ellington and Fitch Air Force Base, Massachusetts, and Sarah’s dilemma where C.J. and Seth are concerned with each book you read.
This time Sarah has turned the town of Ellington into one giant garage sale. It’s a resounding success – until she finds the dead body, of course. It’s a treat to watch Sarah investigate, get herself in trouble and in danger and try to navigate a life that is not quite what she’d had for the past 19 years as a military wife in a place she loves and calls home but is still adjusting to.
The C.J. and Seth triangle is fun. C.J. is her ex – she thought he betrayed her and they were divorced. When she learned he didn’t betray her after all, she’s left wondering why it was so easy for them to separate and if they should ever get back together or not. But he was her husband for a long time, her great love and he’s still in the picture. Also in the picture is Seth, handsome, sexy, obviously cares about her, and stirs up some feelings she can’t ignore. What to do? I have no idea how it will all be resolved but it’s fun to go along for the ride. To see Sarah wanting to be independent but at the same time worrying about C.J.’s seeming lack of attention to her or feeling – is it jealousy? – when Seth dates gorgeous Victoria’s Secrets models.
A great series. Great setting – Ellington is the perfect smallish town where everybody seems to know everybody else, and an Air Force Base is also a perfect setting, a good place to create a lot of characters, because someone is always coming and going who knows someone else. Lots of books left in the series, enjoying working my way through them. Highly recommend.
Sarah has been working hard to set up the largest community yard sale in New England. When the day arrives, some fires outside of town are the only thing that goes wrong – or so she thinks. After the day is over, she learns her friend Carol was robbed of a painting she was doing on commission. The next morning, Carol finds a dead stranger in her shop. What is happening?
This is a very fun mystery filled with great characters. Seriously, I love spending time with them. The plot includes a few intriguing sub-plots that all tie together in some way at the end of the book. The result kept me turning pages. One word of warning, one part of the first book is spoiled here, but there is no way to continue Sarah’s personal life without doing so.
