In the tradition of his beloved first novel, The Notebook, #1 New York Times bestselling author Nicholas Sparks returns with the remarkable story of two couples whose lives intersect in profound and surprising ways.Ira Levinson is in trouble. Ninety-one years old and stranded and injured after a car crash, he struggles to retain consciousness until a blurry image materializes beside him: his … materializes beside him: his beloved wife Ruth, who passed away nine years ago. Urging him to hang on, she forces him to remain alert by recounting the stories of their lifetime together – how they met, the precious paintings they collected together, the dark days of WWII and its effect on them and their families. Ira knows that Ruth can’t possibly be in the car with him, but he clings to her words and his memories, reliving the sorrows and everyday joys that defined their marriage.
A few miles away, at a local bull-riding event, a Wake Forest College senior’s life is about to change. Recovering from a recent break-up, Sophia Danko meets a young cowboy named Luke, who bears little resemblance to the privileged frat boys she has encountered at school. Through Luke, Sophia is introduced to a world in which the stakes of survival and success, ruin and reward — even life and death – loom large in everyday life. As she and Luke fall in love, Sophia finds herself imagining a future far removed from her plans — a future that Luke has the power to rewrite . . . if the secret he’s keeping doesn’t destroy it first.
Ira and Ruth. Sophia and Luke. Two couples who have little in common, and who are separated by years and experience. Yet their lives will converge with unexpected poignancy, reminding us all that even the most difficult decisions can yield extraordinary journeys: beyond despair, beyond death, to the farthest reaches of the human heart.

One of my favorite books of all time! I liked it better than The Notebook. I wish I had written it!
Great book
A great book.
Gives us hope that our loved ones are always near. Nicholas Sparks has an intriguing way of making you feel like you are part of the story.
As I usually do not read the westerns, this one fit my lifestyle as I am a horse girl at heart, and loved the bull rider angle. The characters of course with Nicholas always become so real on the pages, and you feel like you are right there in their emotions. I love all his books equally to be truthful, as each and every one made me cry at some …

Normally I like Nicholas Sparks but I was disappointed with this novel. The movie was much better. The book progressed slowly and just wasn’t a page-turner that held my interest.
This is a wonderful book with two stories of love and sacrifice
The Longest Ride is one of my favorite Nicholas Sparks books. I’ve read the story and watched the movie multiple times through the years, but this was my first time listening to the audiobook. At over 13 hours, The Longest Ride is a longer audiobook, but those hours pass very quickly once you get pulled into the story.
The narration by Ron …
I loved the characters and the story. Such a beautiful romance..one of my all time favorites of Nicholas Sparks
Love all of Nicholas Sparks books and have many of them as well as the movies.
Great story – highly recommend!
I love anything Nicholas Sparks writes. He’s one of a kind that makes you feel the story, not just reading it. The people in this book are truly amazing and you don’t want to miss this great book.
For me, this book was definitely a page-turner. It hurt when I had to put it down because I just wanted to keep reading. I really loved it.
What can I say?! I will always love works by Nicholas Sparks.
