I love second chance romances, and this one hits all the feels and goalposts! High school sweethearts torn apart by outside forces, betrayal and fears; random meeting that a stirs up old feelings, hurts and resentment; continued miscommunication… it’s all here and more! Great characters, great supporting characters, feel good moments and snippets of rage. Some twists you never see coming. What a book! Adam and Lydia are soulmates and it’s awesome to see them find each other again, while looking toward their future and happily ever after!
Kiersten have done it again. She has made an absolutely amazing story. Once I picked up this book I couldn’t put it down. It was amazing, the love between Adam and Lydia was simply beautiful. I wanted more of this story and the twist! OMG! It was so good. I definitely wasn’t expecting it at all.
This book was so good! Who says high school sweet hearts can’t make it work?
Lydia never felt she was worth anyone’s time she always felt like an outsider. A foster child of a loving family she just felt like she was a burden. Determined to go to Atlanta to college she got a summer job to help pay for it.
Adam the popular guy who is also a sexy farmer gave her a summer job on the farm. After a few days he realized she was much more than plan Jane Lydia Shane.
I loved this story it went from past to present and it was just a magical love affair. Showing that some times pride will destroy everything. And some secretes are meant to be kept in the past.
A must read for all romance lovers.
The storyline was well written, the plot flowed smoothly from page to page and the characters were written with such great detail and depth that as I turned each and every page I felt like Lydia and Adam jumped from the pages and pulled me right into their story as it unfolded!
Coming Home
A number of surprises and twists will keep you turning pages in this HEA (Happily Ever After). Our heroine suffers from lack of self worth despite achieving on many levels; childhood tragedies have conditioned her to push people away to protect herself from loss. Despite having to overcome a sense of entitlement and rather bad judgment about girlfriends, our hero is a genuinely nice fellow. Not everyone else plays by the rules, though. Our lovers have to overcome multiple trials and tribulations to come together in the end.
I loved this book from beginning to end. Lydia is back in her hometown of Love Georgia to do a story on Lovers Landing for the paper where she works. Lydia was in love with Adam when she was younger. She got a job working on Adams family farm. She helped out on the farm and grew closer to Adam. Their relationship grew. Lydia wanted to go to the college where her mom went to be closer to her. Her mom had passed away. Adam wanted to go to another college. A couple had taken Lydia in and she became their child. Adam had asked Lydia to marry him and she said yes. But something happened and Lydia took off. So here she is back in Love Georgia 5 years later and runs into Adam who wants answers as to why she left years ago. Will they work things out between them or will they once again go their separate ways? I recommend this book. It was that good.
This is a second chance romance book. Adam and Lydia were great characters and I loved being in both of their heads. There were a few twists that were quite enjoyable and one secret that i totally didnt see coming. Overall this was a great book and cant wait to read some of the other books in the lover’s landing series.
I enjoyed Adam and Lydia’s story for the most part. The twist at the ending was sure a surprise!
What a fantastic and attention grabbing quick read! The author spins a more contemporary feeling novella with this exceptional story of Lydia and Adam. She still manages to weave just a few little twists and secrets into the smoothly written prose. These two and their impressive story pulled so hard at my heartstrings. I’m looking forward to not only reading more of the Lover’s Landing Novella series, but also future books written by this amazing author.
A story with all the feels that’ll bring a smile to your face and give you a few laughs. This novella is a page turner that’ll have you from the beginning to the end. With a very well written storyline you’ll feel as if your in Love, Georgia. You’ll find love and a second chance at it for two deserving people. There’s even a few twists that’ll surprise you.
The Long Route is the first story in the Lover’s Landing series. It is the story of Lydia and Adam, a pair of high school sweethearts who haven’t seen each other in five long years. Back in high school, Adam was certain that he and Lydia were going to end up having a little family together but when he bared his soul by professing his love and asking her to be his wife…Lydia freaked out. Lydia is an orphan and her one goal in life is to attend the college in Atlanta that her mother attended with hope of keeping a connection that she feels like she losing each day. Adam’s proposal after graduation doesn’t feel right. She knows they love each other but the proposal feels like he’s trying to lock her down so she ran and didn’t look back or did she? This is a beautiful story of forgiveness. Before Lydia and Adam can mend their relationship they have to not only forgive each other, they have to forgive themselves. Kiersten has done a great job kicking off the series by laying the ground work and introducing us to Harold and Betty. She has created beautifully flawed, broken characters that prove that love and a little love potion can conquer anything. I give The Long Route by Kiersten Modglin 5 out of 5 propellers.
Lies. Deceit. Broken hearts. What do you do when a revelation throws your entire world into a spin? For these two that’s kinda been them from the start. The need for a job turns them into friends. But then. . . this author does this kind of stuff with ease, trauma, drama and yeah she messes with us by going back and forth in time and letting us see how it went south and why. This emotional read will hurt you to your toes as you walk thru their mess. Loved it and can’t wait to read more of the Lover’s landing stories. Is it the coffee? Is it Harold and Bettye? What is it that brings lovers together and changes the most hardened and lost into the lover’s in Lover, Georgia?
“You really are an angel.”
“Angels wouldn’t like the things I have planned tonight.”
All I can tell you about this one, is have the tissues ready. You’re going to go through all the feels! This a second chance romance at its very best!
Lydia Shane is back. Never thinking she’d ever step foot in this town again, she finds herself here on a job assignment. But, the little diner, Lover’s Landing, isn’t the only story she has to tell. Righting this wrong with Adam is going to be her hardest assignment yet. Can he ever forgive her? Will confronting that night bring them closure so they can both move on, or will it give them the chance at the love they thought would last a lifetime?
Adam Newberry couldn’t see his life without her. He asked her to marry him, after all. But, then she up and left without so much as a goodbye. Five years he’s waited for her to return, and today…she did. He wants answers – no, he NEEDS answers from her about what happened that night. Can he possibly have a second chance with the love of his life? Or, will he end up with his heartbroken once again?
As each tells their part of the story, it becomes clear that maybe neither one of them was fully to blame for their broken hearts. Betrayal is in the air in Love, Georgia.
I can”t tell you how much I loved this story!! Reading about how these two first met and how their love grew made my heart swell. So sweet!! Then, my heart was breaking for both of them as you could feel the anguish pouring out of every word. I was mad at her. I was mad at him. I was crying with both of them. This story was so well done! Highly recommend you grab this one ASAP!!
Kiersten Modglin is a gifted writer who has been very successful at weaving romance with mystery and suspense, which results in stories that keep you guessing until the very last page. “The Long Route” is another exciting story about second chances, secrets and absolute forgiveness.
Lydia loved her life in Atlanta and she never regretted attending college there, but when she left Love, Georgia five years ago, she had been somewhat conflicted about her decision and was afraid of what would happen if she ever returned. Her job as a writer brought her back home where she was assigned to write a story about the local coffee shop, Lover’s Landing, which was rumored to possess matchmaking powers. She was excited about the article, but was dreading a reunion with her first love, Adam. As teenagers, their friendship blossomed into a love that was magical and unforgettable. Lydia knew that she had broken Adam’s heart when she left and hoped that by coming home, he would understand why she left and listen with an open mind. Her departure from Love gave way to a bevy of lies and deceptions which resulted in secrets coming to the surface that would affect all involved.
Being reunited with your first love doesn’t happen to everyone but when it does, your life feels complete and the future looks brighter. Every journey has an ending and for Lydia and Adam, their road to everlasting love was paved with hopes and dreams which brought them back together.
This story in the anthology was like reading a full length novel, that was packed full of everything a novel needs. Lydia and Adam’s story had all the feels, along with a twist or two, which Kiersten is known for putting in all of her books. Beautifully written story that will grab you from the very beginning and not let you go until the very end.
If you love a book that gives you all the feels, then this book is for you. The Long Route tells the story of Adam and Lydia, who have known each other all their lives and ended up being high school sweethearts. Then one day, a question was asked that changed their whole lives. Flash forward several years later, and Lydia and Adam meet once again. Is the love still there? Can they overcome the past? This story truly tugged at my heart and I really wanted these characters to get back together, but sometimes life doesn’t work out as you planned. Or does it? This is a book that is part of a new series and I am looking forward to reading each one. Do yourself a favor and start the series with this book as it will keep you entranced from the very beginning to the very end! (l
I was so happy when I was given this ARC. Oh my, I totally enjoyed this story from beginning to end. A page turner, I could not put down. The story of Adam and Lydia brought so many emotions out of me throughout. The love these two shared with one another was wonderful until Lydia walked away. The then and now flowed so smoothly together. I was definitely not expecting the twists that happened. It sure shocked me at the end when the secrets came out. I was on edge wondering will these two get back together and have the future they had wanted before Lydia walked away or will they both move on. The ending was phenomenal and I definitely give this book 5 stars plus. Thanks Kiersten. Another excellent read!!!!
The Long Route by Kiersten Modglin is and isn’t like her previous books. The Long Route is based in Love Ga and is part of Lovers Landing Novella series.
Lydia has to go back to her hometown so she can write a story about it’s coffee shop ‘Lover’s Landing’ for the news paper she works for. When she gets to town she stops at the coffee shop and while she is their she see’s her ex Adam for the first time in 6 years. When their eyes connect all her feelings come back ten-fold.
What happened between Adam and Lydia? Do these two talk and are they able to come to terms with their past so they can move forward?
Kierstern has proven time and time again she is the queen of suspense, I truly enjoyed reading The Long Route and I can not wait to read her next book, what ever it may be!
This is my second book in this series so far and my fifth book by this author. This story is a short and sweet Second Chance romance.

I received an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily giving my honest review, and I plan to buy this book when it becomes available.
I loved the story of Adam & Lydia. It truly explained how Betty & Harold, the owners of A Lovers Landing Coffee shop brought their magic alive & believed in couples. The only thing I didn’t care for was the format of how the story was told. I personally don’t like the going back & forth between present & now. I’d much rather have the story go through the past into the present.
