This was a sweet novella. No matter what Kiersten writes she always adds a little suspense. This story is definitely about 2nd chances and reminds you to always follow your gut. It will have you falling in love with the characters I didn’t want this to end.
I must admit this is the first book that I have read and was not ready for it to end but then turned around and read it again. The Long Route by Kiersten Modglin took me by surprise and I am so glad that I read it. To start the author has fantastic characterization. By the end of the book, I was in love with the characters and would have loved to live in the town with them. These characters felt so real, but the author really did a great job of creating characters that leave an impression while pulling on the heartstrings. A strong plot supported by interesting subplots that made sense and moved the story along. It wasn’t fast-paced nor did it drag as some books do. The momentum was consistent and everything came together in the end. Just the emotions, drama, angst, hot scenes, darn this book has it all. Adam and Lydia are the perfect couple. Lydia needs a job and Adam just happens to be in the right spot at the right time. They slowly fall for each other. As school comes to an end things happen. Present-day Lydia returns to her home town to write a story but her heart is still set in the past. Will seeing Adam this time give her what she needs?
