Sweet Historical Romance
As much as I enjoyed this story, I can’t understand why she never told anyone where the stolen goods were located? They were in town several days before returning home.
This narration was still a bit choppy, but is she could relax a bit more, I would definitely raise the narration rating.
This book will definitely take you on an adventure. Fiona learns that her parents intend to marry her off to someone that she knows that she cannot make a marriage with, so she decides to become a mail order bride. She starts writing to Eddie and soon they decide that they should meet. Fiona hops on a train to head west and along the way she is kidnapped by a band of bank robbers. Eddie and his friends and employer take off to rescue her once they learn of the kidnapping. Fiona learns that she is stronger than she thinks she is by surviving her kidnapping and learning to live under much different conditions than the way she was brought up. Eddie and his brother were drifters who have now settled into a really good job, but Eddie decides that he is ready to settle down. With help from his employer, Eddie not only learns to read and write in print, but he also learns to read cursive so that he may converse with Fiona. When Fiona is taken, Eddie thinks nothing of going after her. Once he and his friends rescue her, Eddie hopes that Fiona will learn to love living on the ranch and also learn to love him.
Fiona gets a little more excitement than she expected when she flees a forced marriage to the unknown fate of a mail order bride. I expect strong women when I read an Amelia Rose book and this one doesn’t disappoint. Her ladies don’t wring their hands and sit back waiting for someone, usually male, to handle their problems. I think Fiona will do well as a Western lady.
ONE PULSE POUNDING WONDER!!!
Lil’ miss prim and proper! Amelia unleashes one fantastic, block busting bombshell sending this baby into a tizzy, racking ’em up and laying ’em out. Amazing scenario’s that punch dead center with such intensity and precision, thrusting this baby into a tailspin with stunning results. An awesome storyline and gripping plot keeps you on the edge of your seat as everything falls into place with such perfection it leaves you craving more. Drama, distress, turmoil, danger and suspense mounts as tension spirals. The chemistry builds as each layer is peeled back exposing a growing bond and amplifying affections that catapult this jewel to life flawlessly. Their personalities are well matched and blended. The scenes are so colorfully descriptive it paints an elaborate backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Outstanding job Amelia, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
Enjoyed reading this book. Great storyline with lots of well written, interesting characters.
I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
Eddie and Fiona fall in love while writing to each other but when her parents try to force her to marry someone she really cannot imagine being wed to, so she runs away … to Eddie.
This beautiful love story had me sitting on edge while a kidnapping took place. It also shows that people of different races could help each other and live amicably, but what really got to me was the way in which it was written and this made it very easy to read and ‘go with the flow’ as it were.
I loved the main characters. They were both very nice people and I also loved the way Eddie’s family and friends went out of their way to help them.
All in all, a delightful and entertaining book and I can highly recommend it.
I read an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) and this is my voluntary and unbiased review of it.
