He’s a hired gunman with walls around his heart. She’s a determined woman with trouble on her trail. They have a history they cannot deny, and an attraction they cannot control. What they need now is a run of good luck…
I love a good western, and this is a great one! I was hooked from page one.

I totally enjoyed reading Logan and Caroline’s story in The Loner by Emily March; book one in her Good Luck Grooms series but book eight in The Bad Luck Wedding series. Logan Grey had lived a life full of tragedy and vowed to live his life alone. Despite all of the tragedy in his life Logan was called Lucky Logan Grey. Caroline Kilpatrick was not going to allow him to wallow in his thoughts when she confronts him, in front of his friends, and Caroline makes Logan an offer he will not be able to refuse. Together they will battle outlaws, danger, and desire as they seek treasure hidden within Black Shadow Canyon. Hired gunman Logan has built walls around his heart. Caroline is a determined woman despite trouble following her. They have a shared history, one they cannot deny as well as an attraction that is out of control. Caroline is willing to risk everything to convince Logan to stay with her and be a family. Logan is a loner and refuses to stay in one place; or is he? Caroline and Logan are both such strong characters that not much will stop them from pursuing what they set out to accomplish.
Ms. March wrote a wonderfully sweet, emotional and moving story that is not to be missed. It was a story filled with sexual attraction, fun dialogue, and endearing characters giving Logan and Caroline a chance to discover they were meant for each other along with the possibility of a future together. I highly recommend The Loner to other readers and look forward to Emily March’s next book.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Logan or Lucky as people like to call him doesn’t considered himself lucky in the least. All his life he has felt unlucky and surrounds himself with short term relationships, homes and women. Little does he know that he will need to all the good luck he can get because his wife just arrived in town and the news she bring will will test his luck to it’s fullest. Logan and Caroline embark in a dangerous journey and even after everything goes right and Logan wins the girl he still doesn’t see he has always been Lucky and has to hurt himself in order to see the truth. The book is what i consider a page turner. Every chapter is full of surprises and every new surprise leads to new adventures.

Logan “Lucky” Grey is afraid of loss after a tragedy in his early life left him alone. He chooses to live a life with very little to lose from that point on. Living the life of a hired gunman, always on the move, is a perfect way to avoid too many strong attachments.
That goes well for a while, until a strong woman, Caroline, shows up needing his help. He cannot refuse her request and that might be the best decision he ever made.
I generally do not read historical romances. I enjoy contemporary stories much more, but I did enjoy this story so much! I think the reason is that the woman in this book, of this time period, had to be strong to survive the lives they led. They did not wait for a man to be around to save them. They grew up knowing that they had to save themselves and as a result did not shy away from difficult situations.
Reading this book has opened my horizon that I might have been missing some great stories and I will be exploring more out of my comfort zone. I want to thank Emily March for writing this great story, which will lead me to reading more historical western romance books.
I was luckily given an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. My review, which is my own opinion, is not influenced by receiving the ARC.

This book had a great balance of suspense, romance, humor and mystery. It held my attention to the point that I stayed up way too late finishing it. It made me laugh out loud at times, and left me with some happy tears. Emily’s characters are so easy to relate to and they truly come alive to me on the pages. They intrigue me and entertain me. I truly loved this book and know many others will too. I gave it five starts because Emily is in my top five of favorite authors and I truly appreciate her quality work.

I’ve been a fan of historical romance as long as I can remember. Usually I go for the glamorous regency era, but this time I decided to try something new. The Loner rises above any expectations that I thought I had. Logan and Caroline take emotions on an adventurous route to romance. March intrigues with danger, tempts with passion and captures hearts with a whirlwind of emotion. I may just have to rethink my stand on western historical romance.

The Loner (The Bad Luck Brides #4) by Emily March ..This was a wonderful series and thanks to Emily March and the publisher for letting me preview this book. Logan Grey(Lucky)….has a tragic past and works as hired gun sort of like a bounty hunter. Caroline Kilpatrick ..also has a tragedy in her life… She needs his help…there is murder, mystery, kidnapping, lies and half truths, laughter, love, tears(I shed a few) steam and none stop action all getting us to a very HEA. It was great to touch base with friends from the first three books …but this can be read as a stand alone with no problem.
