Have you heard the rumor around campus about the locker room?If you haven’t, let me enlighten you: Legend has it if you bring a girl into the sacred after-game domain of the baseball locker room, it will end with a walk down the aisle. One rowdy and naked encounter against the lockers with the girl of your dreams will make her your wife. Translation: baseball players are stupidly superstitious … stupidly superstitious and believe the locker room has magical powers.
But not all baseball players are superstitious, me included.
So when the girl I’ve fallen for brushes me off, I start to question if I need to switch my way of thinking. Maybe it’s time I finally hand out a coveted invitation to the locker room.
The only question is, will she accept?

This book was super fun. *sigh* Knox! This is a sports romance. I loved Em, I would have caved very early dealing with Knox. Sawooooooon! Great fun story
Who is Emory? Where do we find her? Who are Dottie and Lindsay? Who is Knox? We meet Knox’s teammates. They are so much fun! Watching Emory’s sass that she gives to Knox is so much fun. Can he wear down her sassy defenses? What bet do they make? What happens at Christmas break? What does Knox’s mom say at his first exhibition game of his Junior year season? What happens? Where I laughed so much at the ending of Christmas break, I was bawling after the first exhibition game. Read and see what and what happens!

Meghan Quinn is just such an amazing author- I love all that she writes and her books never disappoint and The Locker Room is just another fabulous read!
Knox and Emory are wow- just wow! I love their story. This book gives all the feels- I laughed (alot), I cried, I was shocked by a twist and I feel connection to all the characters not just Knox and Emory and I NEVER wanted their story to end.
Knox and Emory have this immediate connection. She was in a bad relationship in the past and doesn’t want to go into another one but Knox is so smitten by her and he pursues her and it is amazing! I could not put this book down- I was completed addicted and couldn’t wait to see where the story was going.
Thank you Meghan Quinn for giving us a book that makes us laugh yet makes us think and makes us feel!
Okay, I love that the basic meet-cute book in this book is the author’s favorite thing, a boob squeeze. I loved so much about this book! The main character Emory is a library/education major, that was me! And the lady she does her internship with sounds just like the lady I started my first library job with, who I nicknamed Maxine, like the comic character on Hallmark cards. This book had me laughing out loud so much! There were the gifts they sent each other over their Christmas break, and just the running gag of the bet of who gave in and asked to have sex first. But even them having to try to be strong to win the bet and not having sex still gave up some pretty sexy scenes! Now, the author did something towards the end of the book that totally reminded me a bit of another of her series last year, the Blue Line series. I won’t give it away. You need to read this if you love sexy, funny NA sports rom-coms. Now, I feel like the whole locker room superstition came into play at a much different time than I’d expected due to what it is. But that’s okay, it makes it so different than what you expect! I loved this, I don’t know if I can say it enough. I also like how even though they had such a rough bit to go through to get together in the end, the way they dealt with those issues was so perfect. Pretty sure I want my own Knox Gentry. His snarky, sexy flirting comments make him someone I’d love to have to myself! He might be my latest book boyfriend.
5 Stars!!!!!
OMG I seriously have no words for how good this book is!!!
I laughed, cried and hung on every word written. I have never found it hard to write a review for Meghan but I am this time. You need to read this book and you need to go in blind with no details and embrace everything thrown at you
WOW this book!! I couldn’t put it down, and just stared at my kindle for minutes after finishing, in shock with what I just read. I felt ALL the feelings. It broke my heart and put it back together again. I feel like I’ve just run a marathon. This book is a journey, and an incredible love story.
The blurb doesn’t really give you much information about what the book entails. But, it’s a sports romance, set in college. It also becomes another trope later in the book, but I won’t spoil that. This later trope is very unexpected, and truly unusual when paired with the other tropes present. I can’t think of another book I’ve read that paired these so incredibly well.
I felt like these characters were part of my real life; I loved them so much! Emory has been burned from a previous relationship, so she’s cautious and hard to get. Knox, on the other hand, was the perfect book boyfriend! I had all the heart eyes for him. He was patient, driven, romantic, and a mama’s boy! He was in it for the long haul, and he really wooed Emory and broke her walls down. They were so wonderful together. Their banter was so dang good! And I laughed so hard at the argument about Pride and Prejudice! I really enjoyed both Knox and Emory’s friendships. I do hope we get some books on some of those characters.
I can’t say enough good things about this book. It’s refreshing and different, and exactly what I needed. I LOVED it, and if you didn’t already guess, I highly recommend it!
* I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A true hilarious romcom!
The Locker Room by Meghan Quinn is by far and away one of my favorite romantic comedies/sports romances of 2019. This book completely exceeded my expectations and took my heart on the most incredible journey.
From the moment I picked up The Locker Room, I was instantly sucked in. I was immediately drawn to Emory and couldn’t wait to see her story unfold. When we first meet up with Emory, she’s in desperate need of a fresh start. Her focus is on her friends and her studies and she isn’t about to let anyone get close to her heart. All that immediately flies out the window when she crashes into Knox. Knox is a force to be reckoned with. He’s like sunshine on a cloudy day. Everyone and everything just gravitates towards him and when his sights get set on Emory, all bets are off. There is just something about her and Knox can’t help but want to know more. Emory’s not going to make it easy, but Knox is in for the long haul and is ready to pull out all the stops. Will Emory fall for Knox’s charms and break down her walls??? There’s only one way to find out…..
Man, oh, Man! I just loved The Locker Room. This book was not at all what I expected. I totally didn’t see Knox and Emory’s story coming and I just loved every single second of it. The writing was flawless and the plot was a ton of fun. The characters were real, flawed and easy to relate to. Knox was ridiculously charming and you just couldn’t help but be in a good mood when he was around. And while Emory might seem reserved, she had a great sass to her and gave it to Knox just as good as he dished it out. I loved watching these two together and seeing their friendship develop. Their banter was electric and consuming. I couldn’t get enough of the two of them. One minute they had me laughing my butt off and then the very next, the sexual tension was just oozing off of the pages. They had the most incredible slow burn that made all of those will they/won’t they moments so worth it. Seriously, I just loved getting lost in these two.
Now, the road to happily ever after for these two is not an easy one. There are lots of good times, but heartbreaking ones too. I’m not kidding when I tell you that Knox and Emory put my heart through the wringer. I felt each emotion right along with these characters. Some of their actions broke my heart and made me rage. I knew why certain things had to happen, but that didn’t make it any easier. But, for a girl who loves herself some angst, I obviously couldn’t get enough. From the heartache to the misunderstandings to the weak moments and ones that make you swoon. Emory and Knox were so perfectly matched and I couldn’t help but root for these two to figure things out and fight for their happily ever after.
The Locker Room is a second chance, romantic comedy, sports romance all wrapped up in a terrific read. I loved every single minute of this story from beginning to end. I loved all the main and secondary characters. I loved getting wrapped up in Emory & Knox’s romance. I lived for the moments that had me laughing so hard my sides hurt and then those moments that just tugged at my heart. Simply put, I LOVED this book!!
NO SPOILERS!
The Locker Room was a sexy, hilarious, entertaining, and swoon-worthy standalone romantic comedy, and I absolutely LOVED it! Meghan Quinn excels at writing romantic comedy, and she created something extremely fun, sexy, and engaging with The Locker Room. I fell head over heels in love with the storyline and characters, as well as Quinn’s writing style and brilliant sense of humor. The Locker Room has been my FAVORITE novel from Meghan Quinn to date, and I can’t wait to devour more from her!
The storyline was fantastic. Meghan Quinn combined sports romance, college romance, and romantic comedy all in one that resulted in an addicting and absolute MUST READ love story that I couldn’t put down. I was hooked from beginning to end, and couldn’t have loved Knox and Emory’s story more.
The characters were BRILLIANT and by far my favorite aspect of The Locker Room. I loved Knox, I loved Emory, and I loved the secondary characters. Every single one was amazing, and I couldn’t help but fall for all of them. Knox was freaking swoon-worthy as all get out, and I loved him dearly. He has hands down been my favorite Meghan Quinn hero. Emory was a firecracker and I loved her personality. She was kind yet outspoken, and I loved that she gave Knox a run for his money. Knox and Emory’s chemistry together was on fire, and I loved how their relationship progressed throughout. I loved reading the book from both Knox and Emory’s point of view, and all of their playful, witty, and hilarious banter and interactions with each other. Knox and Emory have been one of my top favorite Meghan Quinn couples, and it was an absolute delight reading their love story.
The Locker Room was a sexy, addicting, swoon-worthy, laugh-out-loud MUST READ standalone romantic comedy that I would HIGHLY recommend! Meghan Quinn outdid herself with Knox and Emory’s love story, and it has been one of my favorite romcoms from her to date!
Knox will make you swoon, curse, OMG and laugh hard! I haven’t snort giggled this much since I read The Virgin Romance Novelist but it’s so much more than fun. A fine slow burn nail biting ride that take you for a great ride.
Settle in because once you start you won’t stop and if you’re like me you’ll kick yourself in the shin because you don’t want it to end but you’ll need to get there because you have to know and you have no fingernails left.
This book has the best scorned woman revenge I’ve ever read. I won’t spoil it but I will warn that if you’re drinking anything when you reach this golden nugget…it will spew out of your face cause not only is it hilarious but it’s seriously perfect and must be done if the opportunity ever arises.
Prepare for the feels, the love and the laughs cause this one gives you everything! Plus if you decide to read this while in the company of others, prepare for the stink eyebrow of ‘are you crazy’ but just point to the book and say Meghan Quinn…they’ll get it!
Is there possibly a way, to give more than 5 stars?!?! If there’s a book that deserves more, it’s this one!
Holy hell, my feelings were all over the place while reading!
Emory and Knox meet at University while she is looking for her way. She transferred to be back together with her two besties after having a nasty break up with her long term boyfriend.
Knox, hot shot Short Stop baseball player par excellence, weasels his way into her life. Oh holy hell, how adorable he is. Seriously. I could fall for him as well. But yeah, cougar and all that
Towards the end, there are life changing situations, which lead to making grown up decisions, even tho adult life can suck. And they do. Suck. Big time.
This book took a turn, I seriously was NOT expecting. Which made it even better. Abso-fucking-lutely hands down. This is THE BEST I’ve read this year.
This awesome group of friends. Knox‘ mom, Mama G. Freaking hilarious. Between the full out belly laughs in between, this story is so deep with all the feelings. Wow. I hope there are going to be more books about this friend group. Let’s see what Meghan has in store for us!
Thank you for writing such a wonderful story. Letting us be a part of the story. Wonderful. That’s a book for me, that stays close to my heart. Definitely!
I kindly received an arc for an honest review.
I went in blind with this novel, and I came away with something different to what I was expecting. Not in a bad way, no – not at all, this book was deeper than I anticipated.
I knew it was going to be a sports romance which I adore. I didn’t know it was also a second chance love story, which I also cherish. I was hopeful for that true Quinn humor, and we get that too. What I wasn’t expecting was my heart to break so many times for this couple. The whole story was so realistic, that I felt compelled to ache right along with them.
Knox Gantry is the up and rising Shortstop for his college team. He is on the cards to be in the first draft into the majors. Life is going to plan for him, until he meets his match with Emory Ealson. She is reeling from a bad break up with her high school boyfriend so when Knox turns on his charm, she finds it extremely hard to resist. What happens next leads down a path that neither of us, me included, was expecting.
Things you need to know about Knox….. he is that perfect college boyfriend. He is attentive and dedicated and faithful. He is also immensely good looking. Like can’t look away from the bright light, good looking. What I loved the most though was his banter. He gave as good as he got from Em, and she was super sassy. She also had a vulnerability that I could relate to. Sometimes her confidence was in abundance and other times she questioned her own judgement. She was a smart woman with her heart on her sleeve that at times made her very emotional. That is me to a T, so I thought she was outstanding. Batter up readers! You need to get to know Knox and Emory too.
The Locker Room gives you so many feelings as you read. Beautiful friends, brilliant banter and hot baseball players.
The way this story is told is definitely an epic one. Yes there are certain moments you wonder what will happen. However the wonderful friendships formed in the book is truly amazing and causes you to ask yourself, do you have relationships like those in your own life??
Knox Gentry is the most amazing man, he’s so honest, he’s charming and so swoonworthy, especially in regards to Emory!
I really loved this whole book from beginning to end! The characters are brutally honest, full of heart and just trying to get through their every day life whilst also trying to deal with their emotions!
My emotions are all over the place as I finished and I honestly don’t know what to do now. An epically beautiful love story that stands the test of time!!
Gah Meghan, this story was amazing! 5 baseball stars for this one!
Meet Emory, recently transferred junior after being burned after a 6 year relationship with her boyfriend, she moved closer to her two best friends. Her first day on campus, hiding a map in her Pride & Prejudice book to get around the grounds without help, a gust of wind hits and sends her map flying, right into the face of baseball star Knox!, Unfortunately for Emory, this was not her first encounter with Knox, but we don’t bring that one up!
Meghan will take you on a super sweet, tear inducing journey with these two, as they build their friendship, and more. I loved this story, I’d love more on these two, they were just a great couple, you felt their hurt, their love, Meghan did a super job portraying their feelings through her words. Grab this asap!
Meghan Quinn stole my heart from the start with this angsty, slow burning, sports romance. She kept me turning the pages with all of the witty banter and hilarity that I always expect from her and then delivered so so much more.
Knox and Emory had me swooning hard. I couldn’t get enough of them. Their story had me in knots the entire time and I couldn’t put it down.
This one if a definite must read! I highly recommend one-clicking The Locker Room, you will not be sorry!
Meghan Quinn… how much time we’ve got to describe my love to this author and her books? I’m her big fan for ages, and I can assure everyone – Meghan is this kind of author who never ever has disappointed me. When I see book, and her name on it’s cover I can blindly buy it, without reading any recomendations because she always giving the best amazing time ever with her characters.
Knownig this… will it be suprising when I’ll tell that LOCKER ROOM hasn’t suprised me by this how good it has been written??? Absolutely not…I can tell even more- this book is one of my favorites from this author.
Locker Room is perfect rom com, where Meghan Quinn mixed laughs with tears… where friendship could became the most amazing and truly love… and where love made us to take choices, hard ones, because there are some moments when we need to put someone elese on the first plan, with forgetting about our selfish dreams. I was sooo in this Locker Room with tchem, I’m telling You – Love them HARD!
Knox and Emory are everything what I could imagine about my perfect rom-com characters. Since first paiges I felt connected with them so, so much , they were amazing together. Chemistry between tchem is over the charts, and the best, it’s still growing up during whole book, giving You lots of breathtaking moments. HOWEVER be warned ! This book i very intense slow burn…. SERIOUSLY OVERWHELMING one!
Emory is girl who knows what she wants from life, for sure she’s not gentle flower. Knox is such a man… thinking that every woman is easy to catch up. I was even more happy that Emory gave him lesson of chasing good girl. If I could I would give her high five for that! Life isn’t easy and specially cocky Knox should know this in the first place – being popular athlete doesn’t give access for easy life .
If You’ll got the chance one click this amazing story – You won’t regret this! Highly recommended title !
My heart is so full from this book – it’s beaming like a care bear stare! Knox Gentry is EVERYTHING you’ve ever wanted in a book boyfriend. I can’t put my feelings into words…this book is FREAKING AWESOME!! A college sports romance that tops all others. I’m a smitten kitten over Knox. Move aside book boyfriends, there’s a new romance hero in town that’s stolen home base and my heart.
The Locker Room took me on a roller coaster of emotions. I had no idea what to expect, but then I was on the ride of my life! The wit, the sass, the incredible sexiness (I was blushing in the food court!), the heart break, it’s all jammed packed into a story that captured my attention 1000%. Gushing about Knox doesn’t do him justice! I’m all about him 24/7, I’m obsessed. You need to EXPERIENCE him!
Full stop – this is my favorite Meghan Quinn book to date and a top read this year! Everything about this book is AMAZEBALLS! Grab your book friends, gush together, you will not be keeping quiet. While I don’t want to share Knox, this Adonis cannot be contained, he needs to be unleashed like the beast he is. Gosh he’s delicious!! Anyways, GET THIS BOOK, DEVOUR IT. LOVE IT!!
From the very first second Knox Gentry and Emory meet you know you are in for a ride of hilariously epic proportions. As with most of Meghan Quinn’s books. Knox is this baseball god on campus. He practically puts out sonic waves of cockiness when he walks into a room. Emory is a gorgeous, junior year transfer student. She had been through some pretty emotional stuff that led to her relocation and the decision to focus on school and no romantic relationships. Due to some of the things she was dealing with , it really made this book a fantastic slow-burn story. Emory and Knox took time and built the best friendship, it was beautiful and organic. They were So.Freakin.Funny! Mixed in were these moments of smokin sexual tension burning in there too. This author did sweep the rug out from under us when we didn’t see it coming. It was so necessary for this book to be the amazingness that it was though and for these characters to grown to who they were supposed to be. They needed that journey. Every moment. From the funny and sweet to the hot and heartbreaking. Meghan always has a purpose for every single word in every single chapter. I was entranced from page one to the last page. I instantly loved all the characters in this book, Knox’s Mom and all their college friends. I loved the ride this book took me on. Hell I would ride with Knox Gentry anywhere , any day!The wondering who, what, when, will we see a HEA? So be prepared to swoon, try not to die laughing, and straight up ugly-cry ! You get all that and more with this magnificent, five star read! It was most definitely, a home run, Folks!
*I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book.
I cannot begin to express how much I loved not only The Locker Room by Meghan Quinn, but also Knox Gentry. With every word I read, I think I fell a little more in love with him. My top five-book boyfriend list has not changed in years, years. But Knox gave them all a run for their money. Every single one. I devoured this book from the first word to the very last. I loved it, just loved it.
Neither Emory nor Knox saw the other one coming. From their funny first meeting to the last, their journey was fun, sweet and had all the best feels. Emory was going for a fresh start and was not looking to meet a guy when she transferred schools. Just out of a relationship that not only ended badly but left some bad scars, she was not interested. She was sweet and caring, if also a bit skittish. Knox Gentry was sweet, kind, caring and patient. He was perfect. Seriously perfect.
I loved watching Knox slowly bring down every wall Emory had built around her heart. He was determined to show her how a man should treat a woman. I really have no words to describe how much I loved this book. Truly loved this book. Books like this is why I read. The characters and their story captivated me completely. It was such a sweet and charming story that had me swooning, laughing and broke my heart a bit. This is definitely a top favorite read for me this year.
Read and reviewed for Reviews From the Heart.
Happy reading!
I’m not sure what I was expecting, but The Locker Room is so much more! I am so in love with everything about this book! The writing is amazing and I am so in love with Knox and Emory! This is a college romance and not all at the same time – it’s as intriguing as it sounds! FIVE HUGE STARS!!
