Have you heard the rumor around campus about the locker room?If you haven’t, let me enlighten you: Legend has it if you bring a girl into the sacred after-game domain of the baseball locker room, it will end with a walk down the aisle. One rowdy and naked encounter against the lockers with the girl of your dreams will make her your wife. Translation: baseball players are stupidly superstitious … stupidly superstitious and believe the locker room has magical powers.
But not all baseball players are superstitious, me included.
So when the girl I’ve fallen for brushes me off, I start to question if I need to switch my way of thinking. Maybe it’s time I finally hand out a coveted invitation to the locker room.
The only question is, will she accept?

Emory has been through a terrible breakup after walking in and finding boyfriend with someone else. Knox is a star baseball player at Emory’s new school. There is definite attraction but Emory is scared after last relationship. Will Knox put in effort to win her over? Will Emory let herself fall again?
Well…Meghan Quinn has gone and done it. She has created the most perfect book boyfriend of all time (disclaimer: I’m likely to say that about one of her future characters too, because her heroes are just that amazing)!
I’m in love with Knox Gentry and you will be too. When I say he’s perfect, I absolutely mean it. This guy is a walking dream! He can make you laugh, make you swoon, make you cringe, and make your heart skip a beat all in the span of a few minutes. He’s quirky, cocky, smart, and determined. And he has the best heart. He’s going to make yours melt!
I liked Emory, but she was more of a struggle for me. I think I was just so smitten with Knox that Emory’s attempts at resistance to him were frustrating me. That’s not to say that I didn’t like her. She’s smart, quirky, and funny. She keeps Knox on his toes and always speaks her mind. And she’s definitely a stronger woman that I could have been.
I LOVED this book! But it wasn’t an easy road. This book was a roller coaster for me. I laughed, I wanted to cry, I had to fan my blushing cheeks, and I was tempted to throw my Kindle at the wall on more than one occasion. But I wouldn’t change anything for the world.
This book gets all the stars!
I loved the story as a whole and Knox, but I had several issues with the heroine.. I felt like she dragged her baggage for too long and a stupid decision cost her a lot.. I think she needed to grow up a little more to realize what she had in front of her. Know knocked it out of the park, I loved him!
My Review 5
Having met Meghan Quinn recently and listening to her speak about writing, I see her personality shine thru her books! I like college romance, but I’m not much of a sports fan. She absolutely made me love reading this story about Emory who’s a fragile bookworm and Knox the college jock! She had me laughing so hard through this whole book I even snorted! Made me want to watch baseball now! She has also invested me in this world! I’m questioning what’s going to happen to Dottie? Who was Holt’s Locker Room Girl? Who is Carson with! Will Lindsay find a new guy? Meghan these questions must be answered! Please tell me books will follow? Now this book wasn’t all fun and games I cried twice reading this book! The feels! If you haven’t read this book please do so now!
This book – I’m somewhat at a loss for words since I just finished, but I can say with 100% certainty that it was incredible!! It is rom-com at it’s finest, with an added slow burn, and it has everything from a Meghan Quinn story you expect and love……but so, so much more.
Knox Gentry is not your typical jock – not one bit. He is just all sorts of wonderful, sweet, delicious and a momma’s boy to top it off!! He was truly a gentleman and a beautiful soul, who deserved all the best things in life. And the best thing in his life was Emory – who despite being heartbroken from a previous long-term relationship, opened up her heart to Knox, after he pursued her and showed her he wasn’t like other guys.
Their relationship – oh my goodness – they were perfect for one another. The time they spent getting to know each other really solidified their friendship, and made things that better between them when they decided to get seriously exclusive. They were both extremely sassy and witty, and had quite the fondness for the other’s nipples. Oh, and who could forget the dry humping ( let me tell you that nobody writes dry humping better than Meghan Quinn). But, being the selfless person she was, Emory sacrificed her happiness to make sure that Knox was able to pursue his dreams. My heart was completely broken and shattered for quite some time after that, but I had faith that everything was done for a reason and that by the end, my heart would be healed.
I’ve loved all of Meghan Quinn’s stories, but there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Knox & Emory and The Locker Room have jumped to the top spot on my list of Meghan Quinn favorites. She absolutely knocked this story out of the park!
Let me start with I am a fan of Quinn’s. I may haven’t read every last book she has written, but I have read many of them. Some of them I loved, some of them I liked. I am definitely of the mind that just because I am a fan, that doesn’t mean I am going to love every last thing that person writes. While I didn’t love this book, I mostly liked it.
This is definitely different from Quinn’s previous books I have read. It’s more of a YA than anything. I am okay with that. I tend to like some YA from time to time. However, the writing in this book felt completely different too. It felt “off” at times. I am still not completely sure where I land on this book as a whole.
I am just going to throw it out there. I didn’t like Emory. I felt nothing for her. Her character was too rooted in being hurt. It grated on my nerves. I found myself rolling my eyes and shaking my head at her more times than not. She is such a drama queen over everything. Poor Knox. He should have just walked away from her.
I liked Knox. His persistence won me over. Although I could have picked a better heroine for him to chase than Emory. He is the perfect hero in any form of romance novel. I can’t say enough good things about his character.
Knox and Emory together just wasn’t something I was really rooting for by the end of the book. Maybe towards the beginning. But, as I said before, Emory ruined that one for me. I didn’t feel their connection or their attraction. Well, I felt Knox’s, but I didn’t understand it.
I am sure that there will be many readers over the moon about this book. It’s a cute read, for the most part. It moves at a great pace, has a great plot, and a few funny parts. I just wasn’t overwhelmed with this one.
Hello cover!! I know this is a weird way to start a review, but I’m just going to throw this right out there…Meghan Quinn sure knows how to write some good dry-humping scenes. Heh. Seriously, Knox and Em are on fire in this book. I loved how she wasn’t afraid to bust his balls and Knox is straight up book boyfriend material who is a mama’s boy. His mom is the best! Most of the book is light and fun with some serious slow burn. There was a slight hiccup between them and things went a little wonky. The only reason it wasn’t a 5 star for me was because once everything got ironed out, I felt some time was wasted and the ending was a wee bit rushed. But the epilogue brought it home for me and Knox is hands down the G.O.A.T!
Gah! I absolutely loved EVERYTHING about this book! It’s sweet, fun, sassy, humorous and downright amazing! It’s everything that we’ve come to know and love from author Meghan Quinn.
The Locker Room is so much more than just a sports romance. It’s a story filled with so much heart and emotion. It’s a story about letting go of the past and fighting for the future. It’s a story of finding love when you’re not even looking for it. It’s a story of friendship and second chances.
My heart absolutely ached for Emory and what she had been through. She is broken and trying to move past all of the heartache and pain. And vowing that she will never give out her heart to another man. Then Knox comes along. He is immediately drawn to her beauty, wit and charm. But getting past her safeguards is not an easy task. Her heart is guarded, and the walls are firmly in place. It takes a lot of time and patience to show Emory her worth and to capture her heart.
The Locker Room is wonderfully written and absolutely captivating. It’s a beautiful story with endearing characters and a heartfelt plot. It has the perfect mix of family, friendship, light drama, tender moments, sizzling chemistry, sexual innuendos and witty dialogue. Knox and Emory’s story will leave you with all of the feels. I smiled. I laughed, and I cried. This book deserves ALL OF THE STARS and is definitely not one you will want to miss.
Another great read by Meghan, full of slow burn romance, witty banter, laugh out loud moments, a super cute couple with amazing chemistry and drama at the end – sports/college romance lovers, this is not to be missed!
I loved the connection between Knox and Emory and how their friendship started, how it blossomed into something more (involving a bet lol). Its a slow burn but the foreplay set the pages on fire, especially with the signature ‘dry humping’ scene from Meghan, hawt!! The story flowed really well, I loved the characters and their friendship with friends and family, it really brought a smile to my face.
Knox is impossible not to love, he is adorable in his quest to win Emory over, but she has lots of walls in place and he has a lot of patience and believes in their relationship. Emory was not looking for a boyfriend when she bumped into Knox, she’s been through some difficult times with her last boyfriend and she has no intention of putting herself out there again. But Knox is difficult to ignore and his cute ways and the wonderful banter and playfulness between them slowly win her over.
Like I said the drama comes at the end of the book as the story takes a direction I was not expecting and didn’t particularly like, but it does work for the story line and ends up working out just right, but that doesn’t help when you want to throw the kindle through the window!! Still, it was a really good read, highly recommended!
‘She slams her hand on the desk, nearly causing me to piddle myself. By God, I think I just tooted from sheer surprise.’ Emory
Emory is a junior at Brentwood University, trying to figure out who she is after getting out of a 6 year relationship. She is living with her two best friends and reconnecting with them. She isn’t looking for a relationship, but when the first time she meets Knox Gentry he becomes hard to ignore. Knox is a junior at Brentwood as well and the starting shortstop on the college baseball team. He is going places, and the major leagues are calling his name. There is something about Emory Ealson that calls to Knox. He can’t get enough of her sass and he wants more than just friendship with her. As the two get to know each other, there is no denying that their chemistry is out of this world, but when the real world comes knocking, can the two figure out how to make it work? Or are they destined to just be friends?
Meghan Quinn never ceases to make me laugh out loud when I read her books. I was sitting in my office at work trying to contain my laughter because this book was full of laugh out loud moments. From the very beginning when Emory and Knox first met to the very end this book had my rolling, but there were also moments that truly felt like my heart was ripped out. That’s what makes Meghan’s books so wonderful, the emotion that she can evoke in a reader from happy to sad. I think this is one of my all-time favorite Meghan Quinn books, and I’ve read quite a few. The banter between all of the characters and the way that she paints a picture with her wording. She makes you feel like a part of the book, and she makes you feel every emotion that the characters in her books feel. Meghan Quinn is an absolute rock star!
WARNING: this book is as Delicious as a whole Package of Oreos and then some!
Ok be prepared to laugh, feel total angst in your knickers and want to devour a whole package of Oreos as you read this book! Cause I totally devoured a snack package of them and they will now always be associated with my Knox.
Meghan Quinn brings us a brand new Book Boyfriend that you will totally fall hard for.
Knox will make you want to wish you were Emory who has his undivided attention
This book has it all: love, the life of being a college student and doing soo many wrong and right things. Sexy angst that will leave you wanting a HOMERUN with Knox… in your bed! It has awesome best friends that will laugh and cry with you.
Yes I know, I could not get enough of Knox. He just was written in such a way that no matter how silly and adorable he was with his actions, you just could not help but wish he was a real life boyfriend to call your own.
Emory: she is a girl you will love too. I like that she is a hard to get cookie when it comes to Knox’s affections. She knows what she wants to accomplish and how to keep her head focus but she did at moments make me question her sanity when it came to Knox.
Go get this book & be prepared to want to go and be alone with Knox in the Locker Room…forever.
5 popped!
P.S. I still craving Oreos even after reading this book while having impure thoughts of Knox. 😛
Who doesn’t love a hot, sexy, baseball player with a sensitive side? Knox has all of that in spades. What I love about Meghan Quinn’s writing is her constant use of humor which appears in vastly different ways in each of her books. Emory’s quirkiness and her two best friends along with Knox’s fellow teammates and roommates deliver that humor.
Emory has been with her longtime boyfriend for the last six years. She has sacrificed for him–her relationships with friends and family along with losing herself in him. In a way, she lost who she was or is. Catching him balls deep in his assistant helped her make some life changing decisions. First transferring to Chicago where her childhood best friends attend school to finish her degree and get her Masters in library sciences. She didn’t realize how much she missed her friends until a week with them. Their obsession with the coveted baseball locker room and “the loft” is something she prefers to avoid. I mean who wants to have sex in a dirty nasty locker room? No amount of orgasms is worth it. Even if her besties try everything to enter those coveted walls. The last thing she expects is to meet Knox at the loft during one of their parties. She just left a long term relationship–no way will she enter another one especially with someone who has the power to consume her like her ex did.
Knox Gentry is entering his junior year of college. He can see his entire future laid out for him. Captain of the baseball team, entering the draft, and finishing his degree. What he didn’t see coming was a campus map slapping him in the face or Emory. He works hard…he has to do just that to win her over. It doesn’t take long for Knox to fall for Emory. She turns his entire life around–makes him a better player. What happens when Emory realizes Knox’s future with baseball? Will Knox take Emory into the locker room to ensure that they stay together as per the locker room lore?
I can tell you this right off the bat, this is undoubtedly my FAVORITE Meghan Quinn book and one of my TOP reads of all time! I am completely smitten with Knox and Emory!
Meghan pulled out ALL the emotions with The Locker Room. I enjoyed everything moment of this book…college fun, sexiness, friendship and most importantly, love. I laughed and I cried, my heart ached and was broken for Knox and Emory. Their chemistry was completely off the charts. The level of sass, snark and sexy? Good Lord, I’ve never read anything like it!
The Locker Room had everything I never knew I needed in a new adult, college sports romance, with a hero that was unbelievably sexy and a heroine that tops all the rest! I HIGHLY encourage you to read this book!
Knox and Emory gave me all the feels. I really loved this sports romance
I’ve been in a major book funk for a while, and Meghan has come to my rescue. I fell in love with Knox and Emory.
The Locker Room is one of those books. That will have you laughing out loud, have you a crying mess and just rooting for these two. Meghan never disappoints. I always feel so at peace after reading one of her books. These stories that she creates, really just hit you right in the heart. I couldn’t stop reading once I started. Seriously, I stayed up way past my bedtime to get to the end.
Knox is just perfect, it’s that simple and Emory well, she was the perfect person for him. Their witty banter, their sarcasm. The passion you felt between them was jumping off the pages. This will go down as one of my top favorites from Meghan and as well as my best reads for 2019!
Overall, Five Boundless Stars
This is one of my go to authors and I always look forward to a new book by her. I am a sucker for a good sports romance and this one had me turning the pages as fast as I could.
Emory just moved to a new school and just came out of a long-term relationship. She is looking forward to a fresh start and spending time with her best friends. Boys are not even on her radar. Her plan is to finish college and get an internship.
Knox is one of the top baseball players at his school. All the girls are after him but he has his eye on one girl who won’t give him the time of day. Knox isn’t like most of the other guys on the team. He is sweet and goes out of his way to earn Emory’s trust and hopefully her heart one day.
This was such a fun, sweet lighthearted read that I devoured. I loved this book and highly recommend it!
I have fallen in love! Once you meet Knox I bet you will too!
Normally, I do not review books that deal with college students and coming of age stories. This one is so different and unexpected that I had to make an exception.
Knox and Emory meet during his Junior year. She is transferring in and is also a Junior. From the first time they meet, they are fated to be friends. Their second encounter further cements they should be together in Knox’s mind. There is something very special about Em. As their relationship develops, you are treated to a courtship and cat and mouse game that will have you smiling and drooling. The secret of the Locker Room is there… and I will not spoil it for you.
You would expect the normal format and plotline. Boy meets girl, they fall in love, and they live happily ever after. This book is unpredictable. It is a love story full of gratitude, affection, control, and most of all sacrifice. You cannot miss reading this book!
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
Meghan Quinn will make you laugh until you cry, then rip your heart out and do a tap dance on it…yet, you’ll keep coming back for more, cuz when she makes everything better, it’s the best thing you’ll ever read!
Knox Gentry. Swoon. That is all.
No really, it has taken me two whole days to decide just how to put this review into words. I could not put this book down! Between the romance and the humor, I immediately fell in love with this book. WIth every Meghan Quinn book I read, I enjoy her writing more and more.
Emory and Knox are pure perfection. Their connection is instantaneous despite efforts to remain just friends. Their journey made me smile, laugh, complain, shake my head, and feel almost every emotion possible.
This book is amazing and I am recommending it to all of my book loving friends!
I don’t think there’s any way I could possibly love Meghan Quinn’s words more than I do. Every time she releases a book it’s my new favorite. The Locker Room is no different. Emory and Knox have not just one, but two, amazingly hilarious meetings! You just know these two are going to have some chemistry… I mean, there isn’t a possible way for them to get out of those two meetings without the chemistry!
Knox is the guy we were all dying to meet in college. You know the one, charismatic, smart, funny, sexy, so darn appealing and likeable that is isn’t fair! Of course he was these boyish good looks with a manly sexiness. Emory didn’t stand a chance and she gave it a good shot too. The secondary characters were nearly as fabulous as the main characters!! Seriously, can I just move to Quinnville? I love visiting her people and her towns… I should probably just move in! Watch out for the twist though! She totally got me in this book… I didn’t see that happening at all!
Bravo, Meghan Quinn!!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
