Have you heard the rumor around campus about the locker room?If you haven’t, let me enlighten you: Legend has it if you bring a girl into the sacred after-game domain of the baseball locker room, it will end with a walk down the aisle. One rowdy and naked encounter against the lockers with the girl of your dreams will make her your wife. Translation: baseball players are stupidly superstitious … stupidly superstitious and believe the locker room has magical powers.
But not all baseball players are superstitious, me included.
So when the girl I’ve fallen for brushes me off, I start to question if I need to switch my way of thinking. Maybe it’s time I finally hand out a coveted invitation to the locker room.
The only question is, will she accept?

When I first read the blurb, I will admit to second guessing myself on if I wanted to read this or not. I wasn’t sure which way this book would go and I was nervous. I’m so glad that I did read it though.
I absolutely loved the first meeting between Knox and Emory. It was hilarious. The second meeting was just as funny.
The characters are great and I loved them.
Knox is funny, sweet, charming and caring.
Emory is funny and selfless. She went through a lot with her ex. We watch her overcome all of it.
There was just one reason this was a 4.5 start and not a five. I don’t really want to say the reason because I would hate to spoil anything. But I will say is eight is way too long. You’ll understand when you read this. And this is just my opinion.
This is a fantastic, laugh out loud read.
You never disappoint me Meghan!!! I love your books so much. Knox is amazing!! He is so swoon worthy. He is just everything. Knox’s pursuit in Emory is heartfelt. He will take anything that Emory will give him. Emory with having her heart broken by her boyfriend of six years, is guarded, and rightfully so. I was so happy she finally gave Knox a chance. But when the reality of his baseball career was brought to her attention, she gave up too quickly. I laughed, cried, and swooned. You broke my heart but put it back together Meghan. I am hoping that you are going to create books for Knox’s and Emory’s friends.
This is by far my Favorite Quinn book to date. It was sweet and ultra swoony with lovable characters. Knox and Emory had fantastic chemistry. Knox is in my opinion Meghan’s best hero to date. He’s confident, sweet and had the right amount of cocky to his character. Emory was a little more guarded and a tad jaded when it came to relationships. Their banter was so fun and easy. As with all of Quinn’s books, there were a lot of LOL scenes. There was a touch of angst that kept me glued to the story. This is a perfect lazy Sunday summertime read. It definitely put a smile on my face.
The Locker Room.. my expectations were that this would be an ordinary sports romance. Nope! No way and no how. I loved that it added the “Sports” drama into the story, but it became bigger than that. Meghan Quinn is the queen of comedy. But when she wants to tug on your heart strings, she can do that too!
So I remember Meghan saying that she scrapped her written words and started writing this story all over again. The Locker Room was written to perfection!
Emory had some innocence, but a strong backbone. She had been burned in the past, but ready to move on. Knox on the other hand, well he wanted what he could not have. These two were frustrating at times. But as Knox wore his heart on his sleeve, I swooned ALOT!
As the years passed, my heart squeezed for the main characters. It was cracking slowly. I did not think we would get a HEA the way we want it be. But Meghan has some surprises up her sleeve and will leave you grinning from ear to ear.
I love slow burn, I love sport romance, I love Meghan Quinn, so yes a perfect combo for me. This book was amazing. Knox is your next book boyfriend, one you need to meet and swoon over. Knox and Emory meet, in ways you will find funny, unconventional and perfect. It’s a sweet story where Knox needs to take down the walls Emory has around her heart. It is a definitely must read for the year.
I loved The Locker Room. I loved Knox and Emory tight from the beginning. Knox is a baseball player and on track to be drafted. They way the met and run into each other again is funny. These to funny. I was so rooting for them. I thought everything was going to be fluffy and great for them. Then something happens and my heart was in my throat and I didn’t know if they were going to have a happy ever after together. I did read quicker toward the end because I wanted to see how it was all going to be wrapped up. This one is a must read.
4.5 stars
The Locker Room sucked me in from the first page. Emory won me over within seconds. She had me laughing so much, she’s hard not to like. Having been hurt recently, she’s got her guard up and the last thing she’s looking for is a relationship. When she hits baseball player Knox in the face, Knox pretty much forces her into a friendship with him. This guy is so swoon worthy. He knows who he wants and he’s prepared to go out of his way to show her how good they could be together.
I’m a huge fan of Meghan Quinn and this book had the humour I’ve come to associate with her books but i wasn’t expecting to feel so many emotions reading this. The characters are extremely easy to like, I was fully invested in their friendship and ended up reading this book in one sitting. Another fantastic book from Meghan Quinn.
The Locker Room is another great sports romance by Meghan Quinn, I adore all her books but her love of sports, in particular when baseball features in her novels I always find myself loving them that little bit more; I think because her passion for the sport shines through more.
The Hero of the story here is Knox Gentry, he is the number one prospect of his team about to be drafted in his junior year and is not your typical jock. He is a total momma’s boy, sweet, chivalrous, with wicked banter and two awesome friends in Carson and Holt. He provides so many swoon worthy moments and is relentless in his perusal of the heroine Emory.
Emory is a girl who loves her quiet life, wants to be a librarian and has recently transferred schools to focus on achieving that. After ending a 6 year relationship with a total douche bag she catches the attention of Knox Gentry in a rather unconventional way. Following this, the two grow a beautiful friendship that begins to develop into more.
The locker room starts off with a pure Meghan esk prologue that had me laughing out loud. The perfect start to an endearing friendship between Hero and heroine. One thing that Meghan always achieves is an excellent level of wit and banter between characters. Her female leads always have quick thinking and are not afraid to give a tongue lashing of humiliation which I adore in a heroine and Emory certainly holds that quality.
A slow burn romance is the order of the day here; however Megahn always has a dry hump scene as her signature element to her books. Now she did warn me that this was her best dry hump scene yet and Holy Forks was she right, that scene is all kinds of hotness!!!!! You don’t miss the actual act when you have that kind of moment to read about I guarantee you.
A story full of friendship, chemistry, humour and heartbreak this book has it all. Following on from one scene that brought tears to my eyes, was a chapter of text messages that brought all the feels of how things were playing out at that moment in time. A simple display of communication but incredibly effective with just a few words at a time. A piece of genius at the perfect moment in the book for me and a stand out element.
Another hit out of the park from Meghan in my eyes, The Locker Room adds another notch to Meghan’s bedpost of sports romance.
Emory is starting her life over and the last thing she wants is a new boyfriend. Especially one who has a reputation of being a player. But then she meets of one of those players and Knox just won’t go away. Their first meeting was HILARIOUS and I found myself laughing out loud and that was just the prologue. What followed was a sweet and funny story that I just could not put down!
When I read the synopsis of this book I thought, “Okay, but I really hope the whole book doesn’t focus on this superstition.” I love a good superstition, especially in a sports book, but I didn’t want it to take over the plot. And it didn’t!
Knox. KNOX! KNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOXXXXXXXX!!!! Meghan has a knack for writing fantastic book boyfriends and I’m pretty sure that I have said this before about one of her characters (and I’m sure I will eventually say it again), but OH MY GOD I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. If I had a Book Boyfriend Hall of Fame, he would be right at the top of the list. He is that amazing.
If you are a fan of Meghan’s then this is a must read! And if you haven’t read any of her books, this would be a good one to start with! Her signature humor is sprinkled throughout the book, but there also a sweet and sexy story with lots of heart. Don’t be surprised if you read it in one sitting!!
I do not hide the fact that this author is one of my favorites. Not only is she a Unicorn author for me but I am quite sure that she is part Wizard. She could rewrite the dictionary and I would read it as if it was the all-time greatest literary masterpiece. I always know going into one of her stories there is going to be a level of depth in not only her story but in the characters that make it come alive. This story proved that.
This author can write a leading man. However, none have come close to Tucker, at least for me, UNTIL Knox. This man knows how to play the long game. His devotion and charm toward Emory was the stuff of legends. He almost broke me a couple of times with his emotions. Emory, I loved until a certain point. I understand why she made the decision that she did but it was still hard to handle especially seeing the impact that it had on Knox.
I will warn people that before they read this that it is not a book filled with smexy times but rather was instead a book that built on a genuine relationship. There is a lot of teasing but No “homerun” until almost the very end. Yet, I implore people to not let that deter them from reading this amazing book. It is love personified. Plus, it is about baseball and baseball is ALWAYS a good backdrop.
All the swoons happened in The Locker Room!
Knox Gentry is my man! This star baseball player has taken my heart, and I want to be Emory’s best friend. This girl has all the spunk, smarts, and wit to make Knox Gentry fall for her. The two have amazing chemistry, and this slow burn romance will make you have all the feels. I was laughing from Ms. Quinn’s hilarious writing, the story was cute and original, and I am definitely partial to baseball players. Another winner for the awesome Meghan Quinn!
Wow! I love a good college, sports romance. This was just what I was looking for.
Emory and Knox are two of some of the most compelling characters that I’ve had the pleasure of reading. Emory is a ball buster. She is snappy with the comebacks and I adored that about her! And Knox…. (swoony, heart eyes).. he is book boyfriend perfection. The two of them together were angsty, sexy goodness. From the moment they meet, I was smitten.
I really thought I knew how this story was going to go down, but it wasn’t what I was expecting. Meghan brings all the warmth and humor that she normally does to her stories. Knox’s mom…. completely stole the show for me. As a baseball mom myself, she resonated with me. I love when I am so into a story that everything else seems to melt away!
If you love rom-com slow burn romances, this is your book. I loved the witty banter back and forth between Knox and Emory, the chase, the passion, and the sense of humor between the two. Were there times that I wanted to yell at the kindle? Sure, but that’s because I was so sucked into the book I really cared about these characters. In fact as soon as I finished this book, I immediately started at the beginning and re-read it. It’s that good and I just wasn’t ready to say goodbye to these characters. And despite the slow burn, there are plenty of hot steamy scenes and an epilogue to wrap it up with an HEA ending. This is another 5 star read from one of my favorite authors, Meghan Quinn.
I was generously provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
*5 Stars*
ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
Yet another wonderful read from Meghan Quinn. Knox and Emory are both amazing lead characters, and the witty banter between them is life. This book just made me happy reading their sass.
Knox is just plain swoony and I loved how patient and honest he was with Em. That said, Em is pretty honest and straightforward with Knox too, and so their relationship just works perfectly. Plus they have chemistry in spades, and the signature Meghan Quinn dry humping scene.
There are also some wonderful secondary characters I really want to know more about, Knox’s friends, and Emory’s friends as well. And oh my gosh Knox’s Mum is the best. Hoping we get some more goodness from some of these guys in the future.
I really enjoyed reading this one, and while I didn’t expect some of the ways the ending was written, it was done really well, and I liked exploring all these aspects of the story.
Highly recommend and can’t wait for more from Meghan.
The Locker Room was my first Meghan Quinn novel and I enjoyed it. This story was fun, flirty and hilarious and had me hooked from beginning to end, yet it was also emotional and gave me all the feels. This new adult sports romance was a slow burn romance with one of the sweetest, kindest, sexiest hero you will ever meet and one who will have you swooning one minute as well as laughing the next. Our heroine was a bit flawed but was sassy and held her own against the charming hero. The secondary characters in this story added so much hilarity to the story and provided much balance and support to our main characters.
This is a story about friendship, second chances and finding love when you least expect it. Its a story that will evoke a range of emotions from you but you will enjoy it. Although a 5 star read for me I felt like the last 20% of the story was rushed and I would have preferred it to be a bit longer.
The Locker Room was a fantastic read and i would highly recommend it to all lovers of second chance romance.
5 GRAND SLAM STARS!! Meghan Quinn knocked it out of the park with a Grand Slam. I loved Knox and Emory their banter, sexiness, friendship and love was PERFECTION. I read this book in one sitting. You definitely need this book in your library…..download it now.
The queen has done it again! Humor, love and devotion all wrapped up into one big package – The Locker Room. It’ll bring you to tears from laughter and from emotion. It has it ALL!!! Go. And. Buy. This. Book. NOW!!!
Meghan Quinn is known for her humor when writing books. This book keeps that humor going and the expectations high. All hail Meghan Quinn!! She always makes it this book that you laugh your butt off, but get the heartfelt feelings you adore!! This is a rollercoaster of emotions that you might want to hold on for. But, this masterpiece has everything you’ve ever needed in a romance book. Amazing, jaw dropping and spectacular book!!
Knox and Emory are the epitome of opposites do attract. Apart, they are separate people who are strong. Together, they explode once they get their act together. Truly a book that will leave you begging for more of them and this world!
A must click book for all romance lovers!!
This book is all about fun and second chances! Knox and Emory have a long standing, slow burn relationship in this book and to read their journey is so much fun and at the same time an emotional journey.
The book is just like a TV series, each chapter is a little story about these two souls that met so young and mature into time to finally know each other.
Emory has been through a lot and Know is a survivor and a good person. They are so lovely and hot together but you will know them slowly through the chapters.
I just loved it!!!
Where do I begin!!!! I am a HUGE Meghan Quinn fan! I mean….my profile pic is Meghan (yes, I met her!!!!!); I have ink inspired by Dear Life….that’s how big a fan I am.
I read every book she writes…..EVERY….BOOK! So, when she announced she was writing a new one, you bet your a^^ I wanted to get my hands on it and thankfully, I received an ARC of The Locker Room I read it in under 24 hours…yes, you read that correctly!
Okay, okay, I know you are here for my review, so I’ll get to it. The Locker Room…..Oh hello Knox Gentry!!!! Can I just say, I LOVE Knox! He made me fall in love with him just by being himself. You know how jocks can be: conceited, all about themselves…..oh but not Knox, he was a lover through and through…..then he meets Emory and that lover side of him comes out in full force! He is determined to win Emory……
Emory….oh how I enjoyed meeting her. I felt so ingrained in her character that I felt like one of her roommates (speaking of Dottie and Lindsay….I hope we get their books as well as Knox’s friends, Carson and Holt). My heart broke for Emory when she told us about her past, I wanted to reach through the pages and just give her a hug.
Every time Ms. Quinn releases a new book, I am always in awe of how she is able to bring us these amazing characters who are 1) so like-able and 2) relate able. The Locker Room will be one of those books that will join every one of Ms. Quinn’s on my book shelf…..yes, I have every paperback that she has written…..because..umm….I just love her to pieces!!!!!
Please, don’t wait…. pre-order this book now….it releases June 20th.
5 freaking awesome stars for The Locker Room by Meghan Quinn. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge fan of Meghan Quinn’s books, and I have maid it known that my favorite leading man of hers has been Porter. Well Knox Gentry just nocked Porter out of the running. Sorry Porter.
Ok now that I have said my piece about that, let’s get down to the nitty gritty. This is a sports romance based around baseball. Knox is the hot shot baseball player and Emory is a new transfer student who just wants to focus on getting her degree. Knox is instantly smacked in the face by his attraction to Emory. Emory keeps turning him down thinking he is just a player and she is just his new game. Can Knox prove to her that he is not what she thinks he is.
Knox is the man that every woman wishes she could find. He is now my new favorite book boyfriend. Shh… Don’t tell my hubby. I loved the banter between Emory and Knox. These two have become two of my favorite character. I also am hoping that Dottie and Lindsey get their own books. They are great side characters. E
This will be joining my bookshelf with all of the rest of Meghan Quinn’s amazing laugh out loud romantic comedies. Great work on this one girl.
Side Note: How hot is this cover. Hold on let me wipe up my drool.
