Have you heard the rumor around campus about the locker room?If you haven’t, let me enlighten you: Legend has it if you bring a girl into the sacred after-game domain of the baseball locker room, it will end with a walk down the aisle. One rowdy and naked encounter against the lockers with the girl of your dreams will make her your wife. Translation: baseball players are stupidly superstitious … stupidly superstitious and believe the locker room has magical powers.
But not all baseball players are superstitious, me included.
So when the girl I’ve fallen for brushes me off, I start to question if I need to switch my way of thinking. Maybe it’s time I finally hand out a coveted invitation to the locker room.
The only question is, will she accept?

Be still my heart. Knox Gentry is all kinds of swoon.
I loved this college/sports romance. I laughed, swooned, adored the characters, got frustrated and felt my heart skip at the hea.
Emory is starting college in a new city after 6 wasted years with a boy who she found cheating on her. She’s meek but ballsy, funny but sometimes a little to emotional, Emory has a beautiful soul but carries a whole lot of insecurities and Knox Gentry, a rising star in college baseball is just the guy to put her back together.
As soon as Knox sees Emory he has it bad but with Em being hurt before she is more focused on her studies than having a relationship but as Knox perseverance continues how can she resist Knox with all his southern charm and hotness.
The Locker Room is a slow burn romance that is all kinds of sweet but not without its frustrations with the characters, well mainly Emory, I wanted to shake her at times.
It was brilliant, I was getting all kinds of excited for Em and Knox’s relationship, I loved their cuteness, the banter, the sexual tension and thought YES! when I thought it was finally going to the next level in their relationship until BAM it turns into a second chance romance.
I loved it, don’t get me wrong but it had a plot downer that I struggled to get up from.
Emory and Knox do have a hea that filled me with all kinds of relief and once again I swooned and Knox currently has pride of place on my bbf shelf.
The side characters were also entertaining and added humor, they were great and a close-knit group of friends to either Knox or Em, both the girls and his teammates, they are a great addition and I would love more from them too.
Recommended read, humor, all the feels and a hea.
The Locker Room has been on my TBR since shortly before it released in June, but I didn’t get around to reading it until now. Literally the story of my life, right? If I’m honest, I put it off a little because I heard some folks say how emotional it was and, quite frankly, I’ve had enough real life emotions the last few months. For whatever reason, I wanted nothing more than to read it this weekend. So, I dove right in. I only wish I’d planned better and read it before attending an event where Meghan was signing this past weekend. But that’s ok. Next time, right?
I have to say The Locker Room wasn’t really the book I thought it was going to be. I don’t mean that in a bad way though. It was a fun and fairly light read overall, but it did punch me in the feels a few times. I want to be cautious not to get all spoilery, but I think the book’s been out long enough now that it’s probably ok. I’ll just stay as vague as I can. I wasn’t prepared for an eight-year gap in the story. It was really almost two stories in one in some ways and, if I’m honest, I preferred the second one. But you know I’m a sucker for a good second chance romance.
The portion of the story while Knox and Emory were in college was cute, sweet and sexy at times. It was also, unsurprisingly, laugh out loud funny. Exactly what I expect from Meghan. It felt a little repetitive at times, with Emory trying to keep him at an arm’s length after being hurt in a past relationship and his relentless (but not in a creepy way) pursuit of her. Their friends first story was charming and enjoyable.
The second portion of The Locker Room, which takes place eight years later, was really where both characters shined for me though. Did I love all the things that happened while they were apart? Of course not, but it was realistic. I think it also made their reunion that much sweeter. My feels were all over the place in that 10-ish-percent of the book. I wish I would’ve gotten just a little more time with them after they got their crap together, but hopefully I’ll see them again in a future book. Meghan’s characters tend to pop in and out of other books, so I have my fingers crossed.
Favorite Quotes:
“I don’t want to be your friend. I want to be your boyfriend, your goddamn forever.”
Even though we live in the same city, our wavelengths have been on completely different tracks.
He wasn’t a college fling, or a steppingstone to the next man in life, because Knox will always be the man.
There are so many words we need to say. So many corners of our hearts we need to open again. But not yet.
I absolutely love this book! Meghan Quinn is one of my go-to Rom Com authors and I just love her style more and more with each book I read. Fantastically witty banter and a really good slow burn make this such a good story. I adore Knox and Emory! They are wonderful characters! I went through many different emotions during their story, but mostly it made me swoon, laugh or smile so that’s a win in my book!! So many great supporting characters in this book really added some good stuff to the story. It certainly wasn’t all unicorns and roses for Knox and Emory but I was rooting for them all the way and was very happy with how things turn out!
I thoroughly enjoyed the humor, I loved Knox, and I was really hungry for Oreos after I finished.
Emory was so difficult at times, it was infuriating.
Knox is the main reason I enjoyed the majority of this book.
His pursuit of Emory was endearing.
He was relentless. Some of the things he said and did made me swoon pretty hard.
Their banter & texts were hilarious.
The sexual tension was frustrating.
And that bet…ugh…drove me bonkers. Someone needed to lose already.
This had a lot of fun times, lots of sweet moments, and plenty of great parts that I absolutely loved.
And then one not-so-great part.
The eight years…not a fan.
I thought it was a bit excessive.
Pretty sure I wanted to throw my kindle.
That being said, overall I enjoyed this book.
Oh my word that was so much more emotional than what I was expecting. Emory and Knox they are sweet, fun, and I loved being with them on their emtional romantic journey. Emory is a junior transfer and is in need of a fresh start from a bad and emtional breakup .She is not looking for any relationship but once Knox has her in his sights it is game on. Knox is a baseball legend at his school but he is so much more than an outstanding athlete . He is kind, sincere, swoon worthy and enthralled by the lovely but non committal Emory. This begins as a cat and mouse game that leads to building trust but we are soon taken on a wild twist that I did not see coming . I absolutely loved them !!

I now know why there were so many 5 star ratings for this book – It totally deserves it! Such great characters and a phenomenal storyline. This book is a must read!!!
Loved this book
MY FAVORITE MEGHAN QUINN BOOK TO DATE
think this may be my favorite of all of Meghan’s books that I have read. I loved the storyline, it flowed perfectly. College sports books are my favorite. They always tell the stories about the “jocks”. Knox is a dream come true! Especially considering he is in college baseball.
I absolutely love the connection to Knox and Emory, I felt it from the beginning. How could you not?! I also loved the side characters. I They showed so much support and turn away.
This book had so many feels. I laughed so hard a few times although I couldn’t tell you how much I wanted to throw my kindle a couple of times. I have never met a woman so stubborn in my life.
I adored Knox so hard. He was so much more than a typical college athlete. His thoughtfulness & humor throughout the book is some of the best I’ve read! I liked Emory too, with her snarky comebacks and sense of humor, but I will say she frustrated me some throughout the book, especially RIGHT at the end (around 97%). I kept saying. “girl, COME ON!”
However there were times I chuckled out loud and overall I enjoyed this book a lot.
This is the hottest slow burn I have ever read! Emory is the master at playing hard to get. She is all about making Knox work for every second of her time. Knox is one of my favorite Meghan Quinn men ever. He’s funny, confident, and very creative…if you get my drift. I love Meghan’s wit and humor that she writes in to her stories, it’s so genuine. Even with a self assured top of the food chain jock like Knox, she makes him so damn likable that the word cocky is an insult to describe him. And just because their story is a slow burn doesn’t mean that it isn’t packed with heat. There’s plenty of that. Knox and Emory get quite inventive at times and it will make you blush. I loved their banter and even the ending, which was different than most books. But it suited them. I read this book in a day and didn’t want it to end. If you are on the fence about sports romances, read this book. Meghan Quinn will change your mind and make you fall in love with them…or at least baseball
4 stars
I’m in a romantic sports vibe so when I saw this book on my instagram feed it was just the perfect timing. I enjoyed a lot. Funny, romantic and a bit sexy. Knox and Emory were really in love and I felt everything while reading. Really recomend it.
*4,5 stars*
It was my first real read by this author and definitely won’t be my last one! I really enjoyed this story and at times I was just laughing so much with Emory and Knox’ banter. But it also had a serious note to it that made me fall more for the story. If you haven’t read this author yet, I’d definitely recommend this one ‘cuz it had the perfect combination to introduce you to her books 🙂
Emery has been burned very badly in her previous relationship that ended on a very bad note. She’s determined to not let anyone deter her from her future and just wants to get a good degree. When she first runs into Knox, there’s a spark between them but she doesn’t want anything to do with him. But Knox doesn’t let her go that easily and tries to win her over with his charms.
Being a baseball player and maybe getting drafted, Knox feels an instant attraction to Emery that leaves him breathless but whatever he says or does, doesn’t seem to work on her. But the more time they spend together, their friendship slowly develops into something more. Emery’s walls are slowly coming down and their bond is getting stronger but there’s something that stands in between and she’ll have to make a hard choice, one that will change everything….Will they get their happy end?…
I seem to be lucking out with my reading choices these days and this book has quickly went to my favorite at the moment list. Another one of my first read, The Locker Room is an NA, sports romance/ romantic comedy from a new to me author.
Man, this one has all the freaking feels!!! I can’t even deal with their adorable, witty banter, laughed-out-loud and swoon worthy moments. My GAH!!!
Knox is a breath of fresh air for me, in relation to the usual alpha heroes I have been reading of late. He is intense, knows what he wants and he goes for it with his own brand of charm. No wonder Emory fell for him. I mean, I would and probably half of the girls population LOL. Emory’s character is refreshing too. Like my reasons for Knox’s character, Emory is someone you can easily relate to. I connected with her instantly and felt the way she did not so long ago. Together, they are definitely perfect for each other.
The Locker Room is a story of young love, determination with a high dose of fun, light hearted moments that will sure to capture your heart (like it did mine!). I highly recommend this book to those who love sports romance with a side of romantic comedy, this baby is for you!
Meghan Quinn gives great rom-com, we all know that. The Locker Room is a sports romance too! And it’s got one of my favorite elements (no surprise there)…a slow-burn build up
Happy release day!!! So excited to dive into this one!
Rumor on the street is, the best romps take place in the Brentwood Baseball locker room. But there’s an unspoken rule to all players. You don’t invite one-night stands; you invite someone you plan on keeping forever.
Sports Romance with all the SWOON
Slow Burn with an EXTREMELY hot end
Romantic Comedy that will melt your heart
I really enjoyed this book, I loved the push and pull between them. I loved that Knox was a good guy and pursued Emory even when she pushed back. I loved that he respected her. I loved that their relationship had lots of humor, love, feelings, and a ton of drama. I don’t think that every book has to have a happy ending and I didn’t think this couple would get it. The ending for me was a little rushed but the overall enjoyment of the book made up for it. Smile on my face.

Five stars for THE LOCKER ROOM and my new favorite couple, Knox and Emory !!!
The best college romance book I have read this year !!!
“The Locker Room” is the first book I’ve read by Meghan Quinn and I’m really in love with her writing style .
I’ve enjoyed every page of this book. It was so funny for reading but it also made me cry a few times .
And that is my definition of a perfect book !!!
Knox and Emory are so amazing characters and their chemistry is so real. The perfect match.
Their whole relationship from friends to lovers (and everything between that), was something that everyone wants and deserves in life.
They showed that no matter how many years pass, true love never dies.
Besides, it becomes much bigger and stronger.
And after that is always happily ever after …
I can’t wait to read another book from Meghan Quinn !
Highly recommended!!!
