Have you heard the rumor around campus about the locker room?If you haven’t, let me enlighten you: Legend has it if you bring a girl into the sacred after-game domain of the baseball locker room, it will end with a walk down the aisle. One rowdy and naked encounter against the lockers with the girl of your dreams will make her your wife. Translation: baseball players are stupidly superstitious … stupidly superstitious and believe the locker room has magical powers.
But not all baseball players are superstitious, me included.
So when the girl I’ve fallen for brushes me off, I start to question if I need to switch my way of thinking. Maybe it’s time I finally hand out a coveted invitation to the locker room.
The only question is, will she accept?

“Winning Emory Ealson is a necessity, not a challenge. She’s worth it…”
OMG I just found one of the best books to read over and over again!!! This book is totally contemporary romance but let me tell you that even if this one is considered “sweet”, is one of the hottest stories I´ve read like EVER!!
Emory is starting a new life in a new college, she has her friends back and after all that happened in California, she is not ready to be with someone even if that someone is Knox Gentry. She has to protect what’s left of her heart, but Knox is pealing every layer and she feels that at some point she’s going to give him her everything and that might be her end.
Knox is every girls dream, he is the perfect male specimen; he has a body to die for, he’s sweet, dedicated, and he’s the captain of the baseball team at college; the moment he meet Em, he wanted her, and not just like a challenge, but she’s stubborn and clearly something broke her that she can’t get over, but he’s got every intention to show her that he is making her fall for him…even if she resists at all costs.
The story is amazing, and the characters are easy to love and to connect with, plus the steamy scenes are to combust for…yeah, they are GOOD. This book has everything, this is one of those books you wish to read again for the very first time, Meghan Quinn once again prove that her stories are amazing and hot!!!
The Locker Room is the start of a new baseball series by Meghan Quinn. If this book is any indication, this series will be AMAZING!!!
I loved Emory and Knox. They definitely had a slow burn relationship, but it had so much heart and laughter. There was also some angst near the end that tore my heart out. Emory and Knox are both great characters and I couldn’t get enough of them.
Meghan Quinn delivered everything I could want in a book with the Locker Room. Hot baseball guy and an adorable, quirky girl with boat loads of chemistry, emotions galore and tons of laughs. Don’t miss this book!!!
Sexy, smart and cocky Knox falls for Smart ass beautiful Emory where true love tests them.
My favorite was the back and forth text messages between the two of them. Their banter and weird comebacks to eachother were hilarious. These two were fated for eachother. Laughs, almost some tears, a lot of emotions all packed into a wonderful book. Can’t wait to start The Dugout next!!
For the last month, my Instagram feed has been completely full of posts about The Locker Room and I have been so freaking excited to finally sit down and read it! Every single time I saw someone reading an ARC, I would get so dang jealous. This has been the #1 book on my TBR list for the last month and y’all it did not disappoint! I FREAKING LOVED IT! This book was easily one of my favorite books this year! If Meghan Quinn wasn’t already up there in my favorite author’s list, she definitely would be after this book!
Knox is a DREAM. He is cheeky and playful and will leave you on your toes with his fun antics. He is so determined to get Emory to go out with him even if he has to get their whole morning class and the baseball team involved. I don’t think I could’ve held out as long as Emory because holy moly that man. And my heart went out to Emory. She had gone through so much and Knox was the perfect person to show her what she’s worth. But the battle between herself and her past keeps her from achieving happiness. That doesn’t stop her from giving Knox a run for his money. This couple is such an amazing duo and they will have you giggling throughout this whole book. And OMG, I don’t think I can ever eat Oreos again without thinking of Knox.
But I am warning you that eventually, Meghan will break your heart. This book is going to rip it out, hold it in front of your face, and completely tear it to pieces. And then you will read Chapter 30 where it will pick all the pieces back up and rip them apart again. You may think I’m being dramatic, but I had to take 5 minutes after that chapter to recover. Then I dove right back in because I had to know how this book would end for Knox and Emory. They are one of my favorite couples of all time and the turmoil made for one explosive ending.
I can’t even explain how much I truly loved this book. I’ve smiled more while reading this book than I have ever smiled at anything else in my life. I was giggling, blushing, crying, and loving all at the same time. This book is so much more than a sports romance or a college love story. It is a story that I will recommend to people for the rest of my life because I enjoyed it so much. Now I’m hoping and praying for this to turn into the first book in a Locker Room series because I’m just not ready to stop hearing about these characters. I’ve fallen head over heels and I want to be the next lucky girl to take a trip to The Locker Room.
4.5 stars!
I didn’t expect to enjoy The Locker Room nearly as much as I did. It’s a funny and sweet book that I read this book straight through.
Baseball is the number one sport at Brentwood University and Knox is the star player. Despite assumptions, he isn’t the typical promiscuous college athlete. While there are countless girls ready to throw themselves at Knox’s feet, he only wants Emory. She has some serious baggage, though, and isn’t remotely interested in men. With her sassiness and level-headed nature, she makes Knox work hard for her affection. I loved all their banter and flirting. I fell for Knox right along with Emory as he breaks down her defenses with humor, genuine kindness, and persistence. His sexiness and romantic gestures definitely help as well. Knox and Emory have intense heat and the slow build almost killed me, but it provides time for the characters to establish a firm foundation of friendship. It made me love them as a couple even more.
The ending falters somewhat and Emory’s hangups keep returning like a bad rash, but with all the laughter, swooning, and fun cast of characters, this new adult read was a home run for me.

I love that you can purchase discounted Audible books when you borrow for KU. I listened to THE LOCK ROOM over the course of about a week and a half as I was driving to and from work.
I enjoyed the story, the texts between the two protagonists were super cute and I liked the fact that the jock went for the “less obvious” girl. She drove me a little nuts at times, but I suppose that is part of growing up.
The story flowed well, the time line was well plotted and the book kept me interested from beginning to end.
I would recommend this for your reading / listening pleasure.
I’m not usually a fan of sports romance but my goodness Knox Gentry. I’m so much a fan now. How he never gave up on wooing Emory. I loved that Friends First! This was a great book. Can’t wait to start on the second one.
Audiobook Review of The Locker Room by Meghan Quinn
The Locker Room is a college sports romance that I would recommend for those that love a good slow-burn or friends to lovers story.
Initially I liked Emory despite some of her hang ups because of being hurt by a former boyfriend. She seemed to have all the characteristics I love in a good heroine. Sass, charm, and a strong attitude. She knew what she wanted and what she deserved. She really makes Knox work for it and that is not a bad thing at all. Where things went downhill for me with Emory is at the 75-80% mark. I wanted to shake her for her stubbornness and awful decisions.
Knox was perfection. His relationship with him mom got me in the feels. His pursuit of Emory was addicting and loved that he was not giving up.
I just love the knack Meghan Quinn has for combining the perfect amount of witt, charm and funny banter, not to mention the chemistry and passion. It was off the charts with Knox & Emory.
The narrators, Rock Engle and Felicity Monroe were a perfect pair and did an amazing job bringing Emory and Knox to life.
4 stars. I am looking forward to the next books in this series.
This book honestly made me feel all kinds of things. I just loved every element of this book. I loved the jokes, the romance, and the dynamic between Knox and Emory was phenomenal. This was different and it blew me. I had to literally slow down and re-read some parts because it was so good. I actually laughed out loud because it was so funny. This book was amazing! It was disappointing to see this was only a standalone and there weren’t more!
The Locker Room is a great, funny, romantic book. I couldn’t put it down! Knox is steamy hot and such a great guy and you just want to cheer for him and Emory!
College student Emory Ealson has had her walls up since she caught her ex-boyfriend cheating, so baseball player Knox Gentry had to try his hardest to get her to let him in. When she finally does, she finds out that he is expecting to be drafted sooner than she originally thought. Wanting him to focus on following his dreams, Emory breaks up with Knox. They meet again after eight years. Will the locker room work its magic and lead them to Happily Ever After?
I had such a great time listening to this audiobook that I know it won’t be long until I’m listening to it again! This book was hilarious, sexy, with a little bit of -what for me was unnecessary- drama. The characters had great chemistry and their witty banter was fun to listen to.
The narrators did an excellent job. Felicity Monroe has great comedic timing!
The Locker Room is a slow-burn, friends-to-lovers contemporary romance written in dual first person POV. It ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.
I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
What a hilarious, swoony, sports romance! I was laughing out loud too many times to count! I loved all the flirty banter and the slow burn sexual tension between Emory and Knox. Emory has transfered to Brentwood as a Junior after losing her identity in a cheating ex boyfriend. She is determined to have a fresh start and be the smart, independent woman she wants to be. The first meet cute between Emory and Knox is so hilarious and the second is just as good. Knox is so charming, sweet, and swoony! He is the captain of the Brentwood baseball team and is working toward his dream of playing in the pros. But this sexy, funny, librarian major has caught his attention, and he works so hard to get her to go on a date. But Emory is stubborn no matter how charmed she is by Knox. Their competitiveness was a challenge neither would back down on. Emory was a great character even tho she really frustrated me at times. I loved Knox and thought he was so swoony in how patient, kind, and romantic he was. I also loved all their friends who added so much fun and humor to this story as well. This story was made completely addictive by Rock Engle, and Felicity Monroe’s amazing narration! They were superb as Knox and Emory as they brought the fun and flirty couple to life. I easily felt all the awkward moments, passion, heartbreak, joy, and love these characters felt. I loved both their deliveries as they made this hilarious, heartwarming, sweet and sexy story pure perfection!
I devoured this book. Never wanting to leave the world that Emory and Knox lived in. I smiled, I laughed, I got teary-eyed, I swooned. I did it all.
While some aspects of the story were a bit questionable and had me shaking my head, it’s their story and I enjoyed it, and I am really looking forward to the next book *runs to download Carson’s story*
I’ve been listening to the new audiobook for this book all week.
On one hand, I love the story. Friends to lovers. Slow burn. Sexy, single minded hero. Smart, sassy, guarded heroine.
Knox and Emery meet cute when Em’s campus map (because she’s a transfer) blows into Knox’s face. And so starts their dance. Knox wants more than friendship but he agrees to her wishes. Mind you, she wants more too but she doesn’t totally trust anyone with her heart. Knox and Emery become great friends and he gets under her skin. She lets him in. They date and lots of everything but penetration, they can’t keep their hands off each other. Not as smooth a path as it may seem though.
Witty, sweet, hot, and with lots of feels. What happens when you want the best for your friend?
Oh, did I mention he’s the hottest thing on the school baseball team? Expecting to get drafted to the big leagues? That the team locker room is a legendary location on campus? That if you get a ‘golden ticket’ to the locker room, you and the guy are destined to be together forever.
It isn’t a slam dunk HEA. Which is what makes the story hook me. I like a bit of angst.
I enjoyed the performance by the female narrator but I will admit the male narrator’s voice annoyed the heck out of me. His fake Texas accent. Drove me nuts. Also, I really wish they’d do more duet narration because I hate when the men do women’s voices. The women don’t bother me as much when they do men. But the story kept me in.
I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
It my god, this was all kinds of adorable and heartbreaking
From the very first page I was sucked in and was there until the very end. As soon as I started I couldn’t stop and oh my gosh what a ride it was.
Emory and Knox’s first meeting was so crazy and fun that you couldn’t help but laugh. Having them both together is the absolute best thing. They’re funny and compliment each other in the greatest of ways. He’s cocky but she stands her ground and gives him the same back. It’s so good.
Meghan Quinn truly does put her all into this book and delivers us with a cracking story filled with amazing characters and an incredible storyline that will have you addicted.
The Locker Room was a slow burn romance that slams with you so many feels you won’t see them coming. It’s funny and gripping and an absolute beauty.
This book has me craving more baseball books! I was hooked from page one and couldn’t put it down! I loved Knox and Emory but it made me sad they had to wait 8 freakin years to get their happy ending. What was up with that? I’ve never read a book where both characters waited that long and was in the same city the whole time. How did she not look him up over the years? I get that she was getting her career and getting a job but it just doesn’t make sense at all. I would have looked him up and you’re telling me with the friends she has neither one of them wouldn’t have done either especially Dottie with the money and connections… I just don’t understand all that. Oh and who knew dry humping could be so hot? If this was an olympic sport, Knox and Emory would get gold. Good Lord, had the kindle melting at times. I’m not sure how either didn’t cave but they held on. I didn’t exactly agree with Emory’s decision. I think she could have helped Knox say calm and make good choices over the years. They were cute together and had some serious chemisty. Even their friends thought so and gave them so much support over the years. This book was great and I can’t wait to read Carson’s book next!!
Emory Ealson spent six years with her boyfriend Neil Langston, only to surprise him one day doing the dirty with his assistant. She didn’t go to university with her best friends so she could stay in California with him, but after this, she applied to Brentwood, packed up, and left with her parents’ blessings. Her besties were forgiving and accepted her back into the fold, and they moved together to a dorm. They helped Emory deal with her heartbreak and she was now making strides into her studies to become a librarian.
Knox Gentry is one of the elite baseball athletes in Brentwood University. It is a proven fact that talented athletes who train under Coach Disick get into the MLB, and Knox is on his way. As per Coach Disick, he’s one of the best in his field, and he needs to keep his nose to the grind, no girls to make him lose his focus and he’ll be a shoo in for the draft during this, his junior year. The only problem is that Knox met Emory and life as he knew it changed for him. He was completely enamoured with Emory!
Their love story was very rocky because Emory was very fragile from her recent breakup. Apart from the betrayal, Neil made her believe it was her fault for not being enough, so she’s dealing with heartbreak, self-esteem and trust. Even though she was falling for Knox, she distrusted a lot. Knox pursued her and she kept eluding him. The fact that Knox was such a decent guy is the only reason that she gave him chances so long as he didn’t push too hard for a date. They have a very rocky road to their HEA, there are a lot of emotions and heartbreak before they get finally happy.
I loved the story because of the characters and the joking between them. There are good times with Knox’s best friends Carson and Holt. There’s a scene where they’re trying to sell Knox’s sterling qualities to Emory that’s wicked funny. I love the supporting roles that Emory’s and Knox’s friends play with them. They have regular family, but their roommates and teammates are their brothers. They even call Knox’s mom Mama G because she’s a die hard fan of her son, is the loudest one in the games, and spoils them all with her cookies.
I hadn’t read a Meghan Quinn book in a while and The Locker Room just reminded me why I love her books. She writes the best book boyfriends and Knox Gentry is not an exception.
When Emory transfers college fresh out of a bad relationship, the last thing she’s looking for is a new man, but Knox is not about to be shut down without a fight.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters are great, they have an intense chemistry, their banter is crazy fun and their story is a fun, romantic and sexy background to an amazing love story, because Knox and Emory have an amazing love.
I recommend this book hands down if only so you can fall in love with a sexy baseball player with a heart of gold.
This landed on my Kindle in the early hours of the morning and once i started I couldn’t stop ! Meghan just has this way of writing characters that you become fully immersed in and well Knox was all that and more.
What more could a girl want then a smoking hot baseball player with a heart of gold that had me clutching at my own heart on more than one occasion – someone needs to find me a Knox and quick!!! He was not afraid to show his feelings and went after Emory, chipping away until not even a saint would be able to resist him !!
Thank you Meghan, this is one I can see me reading again and again just for Knox
