Baby on his Doorstep!Sheriff Garrett Brand has raised his entire brood of siblings single-handedly, and he’s done his best to teach them some values, to mold them into honorable, responsible, and trustworthy human beings. So when a baby lands on the doorstep of the Texas Brand, his first question is which younger brother is in for a butt-kicking? But the little fellow isn’t named after Ben, or … after Ben, or Wes, or Adam, or Elliot. The little feller is named after him–Garrett Ethan Brand–according to the note his mama left behind.
He’s still racking his brain to figure it all out, when a woman shows up at the ranch in the dead of night, spitting, fighting mad, and accusing Garrett of murdering her sister and stealing the baby!
Chelsea is confused, heartbroken, and too mad to think straight, and the same trouble that found her poor sister is right on her tail. But of all the places she and the baby could’ve wound up, Garrett thinks this ranch is the best one.
Because this is one family that knows how to pull together and trouble doesn’t stand a chance against The Brands of Texas.

Texas Brands Book 1: The Littlest Cowboy by Maggie Shayne was a delightful read – filled with humor, romance, adventure and a touch of mystery. Difficult to put down!
The baby was the child of her sister and a crime boss. Her sister is killed. She refuses to turn over the baby. Exciting book with happy ending.
Quite an adventerous book! Loved the characters & glad the bad guy did not win but I am glad most books end that way, I loved Chelsea & Garrett & the whole family. I loved the way the brothers & sisters were there for Garrett. I would’t mind having a Garrett in my life.

Well written
very fun read
This was a fun read. Snarky siblings and a frustrated leading man.
From the beginning you are entertained. It is a funny and happily ever after. Just the book to read.
Cute book. The only twist was in the revelation of “the bad guy”. The plot was predictable, but still a good read.
In this book, the reader is introduced to the Brand Family, led by big brother and local sheriff, Garrett, known as the “Gentle Giant”. The story starts with some entertaining dialog between Garrett and his siblings, when they find a baby boy on their doorstep. The mystery of baby is solved rather quickly, and then moves on to the budding …
Great for the romantic.
Early in the book, when the baby was left on the doorstep of the local sheriff, left the reader wondering what the real circumstances were. I enjoyed the dialogue between the New York city girl and the Texas “hick”. Turns out Texans aren’t as back-country as she thought–especially when it comes to protecting their loved ones.
