Pride packs a punch, but packs should never get in the way of the heart. The federation of Valet de Chambre has ordered Verena, Queen of the planet Effeminate to produce a male heir for her kingdom within the next 30 moon cycles or she and her planet of female lion shifters will be forced into a life of servitude under Jaxson, King of the planet Emir and most of their Equipoise solar system. With … Equipoise solar system.
With her heart set on saving her planet, she voyages out of her solar system to find a man from the planet Earth worthy enough to produce an heir that will suffice the new laws of the federation of Valet de Chambre.
The boy will grow and train to become Effeminate’s king.
But what Verena wasn’t counting on was falling for Ciro DeLuca who drew her into his world and his circle of friends that he considers family.
She hadn’t known family in 170 moon cycles because Jaxson, a powerful king and panther shifter in his own right, killed her parents in the Battle of Quell. This forced the now named queen to have to produce an heir under federation law.
Ciro holds a secret too. He is a werewitch and finds his werewolf side has completely fallen for Verena but his witch side knows she is hiding something and he hopes his clan can help him find out what she is keeping from him.
Will Verena mate with Ciro and save her planet in time? Or will her fears of losing him to her lie overcome her?
Will Ciro help Verena save her planet once he finds out the truth?

This author was new to me and I wasn’t disappointed. I love shifter stories and this one had extra challenges by having shifters from another Galaxy. It really left me wanting to know more of what happens to the characters. I enjoyed reading this book.
The Lion Witch by Amanda Kimberley is an awesome story that I have read. This is book number nine in this awesome series that I have read and loved it. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about science fantasy , Sci-Fi and paranormal romances in their stories

This is an intriguing story. I love the world building of the Equipoise Solar System. Verena and Ciro will have to watch their backs in future books. I read this as part of the Immortal Hunger anthology.
Verena the Queen of lions of her planets must come up with an heir or they will be under servitude to Jaxson who’s planet caused the death of her parents. She heads for Earth to find a male to get her pregnant. She didn’t count on falling in love nor with danger following her to Earth. Will she be able to keep the man she loves? Or will Jaxson win the battle? This is a very good story I think you’ll enjoy it.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved the characters and dynamics they all exhibited. I am looking forward to more from these characters.
This book was amazing. I have never read anything by this author before but she is now one of my favorites. I love how the plot went it kept me interested throughout the book.
Amazing read! Couldn’t put this one down until I had read it all!!
Verena, Queen of the planet Effeminate, is discussing a serious issue with her general, Tilda. Verena has been ordered to produce a male heir for her kingdom within 30 moon cycles or she and her planet of female lion shifters will be forced into a life of servitude under Jaxson, King of the planet Emir. Finding a male not under Jaxson’s control seems impossible. Marrying the barbaric Jaxson will likewise mean a life of servitude for her subjects! Tilda suggests Earth as the best choice since it is far enough away to not have heard of Jaxon, although she needs to be sure she selects a shifter. However, Verena tells her she doesn’t need a mate, just his seed. The Peace Treaty says Jaxson cannot attack while Verena is away looking for a mate, so leaving Tilda behind to keep the people training for war, she heads alone to Earth.
Burchard, in the meantime, counsels Jaxson to attack Effeminate now while Verena is away, and then take her by force as his wife so she respects him. But he wants more than her respect, and Burchard is dismayed to see Jaxson is in love with her! But regardless of the Peace Treaty, Jaxson intends to resume the war in 30 moon cycles. He wanted to make Verena love him, be his mate, and create an heir to unite their two kingdoms. They could then create a new race of shifters with the lion’s cunning and prowess and his panthers’ adaptability. As he is thinking about her in this way, he calls Burchard to prepare his ship – he is heading toward the planet Effeminate immediately! What will he do when he finds her gone and heading to Earth? Will he convince her his plan could work? And what if she has already found the male she wants on Earth?
I didn’t get drawn into this book from the start as others seemed to do. The premise didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me to begin with. How does one keep up the planet’s population with only females? Verena was anti-love, anti-men, and seemed to be fairly miserable, so not a character the reader could easily like or sympathize with. Acknowledging that Jaxson would never defeat the dragons of Tatsu, in their own solar system, why not choose a mate from there? The general thought “the only way to fight off Jaxson is if we find some males to help us defeat him.” He literally owns their solar system, and they think “some males” will provide victory? Based on what? So much didn’t make any sense, unless it was actually meant to be a tongue-in-cheek type of story or a cliché “battle of the sexes” tale? I can’t say I enjoyed this one, but apparently others have. So give it a try if you think you’ll like it and see!
