Want to know a secret? It’s about that girl over there.Don’t look, but she’s the one in the power suit—with the long, black hair and the serious expression, the one I’m about to go on a date with . . .Yeah, according to her, she “accidentally” donated an obscene amount of money to my charity — The Lineup — to win said date but I found out the truth. Miss. Button Up Blouse has a secret, passionate … has a secret, passionate crush on me.
I didn’t know her name until two days ago, despite the friends we have in common.
Was I oblivious? Probably.
Was I blind to it? Definitely.
But I’m no fool, I see it now. The High Heel Harlot wants more than just a date with Jason Orson, she wants to be able to claim the best butt in baseball as hers.
Here’s another secret . . . she has no idea I know.

What a real feel good, fun, sexy read. I just loved Jason Orson. What you see is what you get. He really wears his heart on his sleeve. He loves life, he loves his friends, and he really really likes Dorothy “Dottie” Domico, she presses all the right buttons for him, and he’s determined to break through those walls she’s erected. Just when things are looking up, his world implodes, and Dottie and Jason really need to re-evaluate what they want out of life. This was such a fun read for me. Everything about Jason Orson was just perfect, he was a fun, happy, genuine guy, and Dottie seemed to be the dark to his light. Opposites most definitely do attract. There were so many laugh out loud moments. The story was fun, sexy, and might I add, a little emotional in places. I did not want this story to end, addicted from the get-go. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
With each Meghan Quinn book I pick up, I know that I’m going to laugh, have that “OMG” moment and fall in love with an amazing cast of characters. Every single time I put down one of her books, I’m left with a smile on my face.
The Lineup is another homerun for Meghan and I honestly could not love this book anymore! It has easily moved its way into the #1 spot of my 2019 reads!
The Lineup was one of, if not the BEST Meghan Quinn story that I’ve read to date. Jason was so ridiculous, you couldn’t help but fall for him! Dottie was so feisty and such an independent woman, I totally fell in love with her as well. When Jason & Dottie come together?? PURE MAGIC. I highlighted so many pieces of this story because I just could not get enough. Honestly, I’ve already read it twice which NEVER happens!!
The Lineup is one of Meghan’s finest to date. If you are looking for a sassy, sexy and downright hilarious rom-com, this is what you’ve been waiting for.
Romantic Comedy | Sports Romance
Romcom fans can rejoice because we have another winning romance right here with The Lineup!
I always get giddy when Meghan Quinn writes a new book because I feel like I’m revisiting friends. Her characters are gems and it’s not hard to fall in love with each one of them. In the Lineup readers will become well acquainted with Jason and Dottie. Their romance is thick with humor, the banter is hilarious, and the deep, all encompassing passion is swoon worthy. Gosh, Jason just may be one of my favorite heroes that Meghan has written! He and Dottie are a match made in heaven even though it took them a little while to come together. It’s a slow burn for sure because the two start off as enemies (rather, Dottie can’t stand him and makes it known) but it’s so much fun to “watch”. I was rooting for Jason from the beginning and it was a blast to watch him tear down the falls that held her heart hostage! It was a hoot too as I was laughing nearly every page!
Jason reminded me of Racer from Twisted Twosome. (If you haven’t read that one, I HIGHLY recommend it. It’s a standalone in the series and one of my top favorites. You can find it here: TWISTED TWOSOME. Why does he remind me of Racer, you ask? His wittiness and snarky personality that had me rolling on the floor laughing just like Racer. Jason may be a little more “feminine” (he isn’t afraid to weep (his words, not mine) and has one of the most positive outlooks on life) but their personalities are similar in so many ways! I freakin LOVED IT.
Dottie is a little rougher around the edges. She’s a BOSS lady, doesn’t give in easily, and really has no problem doing her own thing. She’s been burned in the past by men and doesn’t take easily to Jason who won’t take no for an answer. The two don’t hit it off right away (or easily) which leads to the hilarious banter, but when they do? MAGIC. Gosh, I really wasn’t sure about them being good for one another at first, but they are really each other’s perfect match. Their chemistry hides in plain sight!
Anyway, I really LOVED this book. I honestly didn’t want it to end because I couldn’t get enough of Jason (I’d love to try his potato salad). He’s such a charming, sweet man! Meghan wrote him to perfection, and I think all the ladies are going to fight over him. Hopefully he’ll make an appearance in some future books. Fingers crossed. Otherwise I’d just have to read this book all over again (and I totally could- that’s how much I loved it!).
If you’re looking for a sweet, one of a kind romance with the most ADORABLE hero in the world then you won’t want to miss The Lineup! I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed in this story! It’s truly a spectacular read, and I loved seeing Knox, Emery, Carson, and the rest of the gang!
Jason is a sweetie. He is a big, gorgeous hunk of a man, intimidating at first sight until you realize he is just one big teddy bear!
Now that he has be traded to Chicago to play professional baseball, he is happy to be home at last. His friends play for the other Chicago team, but that does not affect their friendship. He is ready to start a new successful life and possibly date a nice girl.
Dottie has a fast and furious job at her father’s company. Lots of responsibility and hours at work. Meeting a guy or even considering one to date is the furthest from her mind. But life is full of surprises. One wrong donation to a charity and she wins a date with our teddy bear Jason. And so begins an unusual and amazing romance you do not want to miss!
BTW, Jason can cook and iron!
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
The Lineup is the third book in the Brentwood Baseball series. It’s Jason’s story, who we’ve seen in all the other books, and Dottie, who we met in The Locker Room. This one is still a complete standalone. We still get to see all our favorites from the previous books.
These characters had so much personality, it’s like they jumped off the pages of the book! Jason is a catcher, chef, all around sweet and sensitive guy, yet still somehow crass and ridiculous most of the time! You would not believe some of the things Jason said! Then, there’s Dottie. Dottie is a real ball buster, super prickly, sassy and has a take no prisoners attitude! She is frightening! The two of them together had hilarious banter, filled with so much hatred and I loved every second of it! They have an interesting start to their relationship, but they really do bring out the best in each other, that you can’t help but root for them. The writing and pace were impeccable as usual from Quinn. This is a fun, hilarious, perfect little sports romance and I would highly recommend it!
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I have no idea how Meghan does it but she managed to hit another one out of the park (see what I did there). The Line Up is everything we love about Meghan’s writing. Smart, funny and sexy!! Another home run!!
Get ready Meghan fans you are in for a romantic comedy treat! The Lineup is another fabulously funny, sexy read filled to the brim with witty banter and amazing chemistry!
Dottie is a straight up business woman that has worked her way to the top of her family company. She has been burned by romance in the past and has written off finding that perfect someone. Jason is a sweet, sexy baseball player that has such a pure heart and giving nature that you can’t help but fall in love with him. He also has a crazy funny quirky side and he certainly can whip up a mean meal with a side of sexiness! Jason has no idea that Dottie once had a bit of a crush on him in college. So when his foundation sets up a charity auction for a date with Jason their mutual meddling friends seem to have the right ticket! Dottie decides that she wants no part of the big date win and certainly does her best to back peddle out of it but she has no idea how persuasive, annoying and lovable Jason can be …till she is on the other end of his actions !
So what happens when your friends interfere and throw the two of you together … a seriously funny beginning to a hopefully lasting relationship !!!!!
Loved it !!!

I love a good rom com – the ones that give you the gut laughs and you still get all those ooey gooey feels from the romance. Meghan Quinn is rom com done right! I love it!
This book has it all!
HOT baseball pants
College Crush
Slow Burn with an EXTREMELY hot end
Baseball player with all the ALPHA swoon
Romantic Comedy that will melt your heart
Okay, okay……I know you are probably getting tired of “hearing” this..but…. I FREAKING LOVE MEGHAN QUINN!
Ms. Quinn brought all the feels with The Lineup and she hit it out of the park (see what I did there…baseball reference….). Jason is “that” friend….if you have read The Locker Room and The Dugout, you know what I’m talking about it and if you haven’t…um…..what are you waiting for!!!! I adored Jason and his sensitivity, who doesn’t love an ALPHA man who can also have a sensitive side. His humor and banter was on EPIC proportions! If you remember Dottie (Emory’s friend from The Locker Room), well, The Lineup brings us her story and background….and she is a hard-a^^ woman! Take no prisoners and she give Jason a run for his money!
Now….I want Walker’s story!!!!!!
Whoa!!!! Be carefull Ladies swoony alert and Jason are a real thing!!! I’m in love with this story… I’m in love with this author, gahhhhhh isnt’t Meghan Quinn the Queen of rom coms??? I was waiting very impatiently for this book, since the day one I known that THE LINEUP will arrive. TODAY My heart feels captivated by this characters, I can’t simply get enough of Jason and His stupborn Girl. I’ve just finnished this book, not that while ago, but I want to reread it again and again. Someone hold me please… I need Jason’s hugs – sorry Dottie, I’m sure You could understand why.
The Lineup is simply amazing. Mrs. Qui(ee)nn has taken me for anothe amazig journey in this series. Jason and Dottie gave me all the feelings I could only recived. They were so funny, specially Jason.. he made lughging so hard OMG !!! I was happy that I was this book not in public places, even writting this I still have big smile on my face – yep it’s Jason’s effect, cant lie. I was happy to see him with Dottie. She was a little hard to figure out in the begining, becauseshe might have somethisng stiff in certain places, but Jason sweet Jason knows exactly how to throw it out very very far away.
I’m sure – this book (just like other book is series) is one of my fave book this year. I can’t imagine my life without Meghan Quinn and Her sexy and sweet stories, just like this one … in The Lineup. Absolutely must read !
***4.5 ‘It’s a Mystery What Goes On In My Brain’ Stars***
This book.
This book drove me batshitcrazy on all levels.
I think that’s the only way to put it. It definitely hit all the right romance buttons for me, but it also had my eyes hurting from all the rolling they ended up doing because Jason and Dottie definitely conjured up their own kind of endearing, frustrating, swoon worthy roller coaster of a ride that was difficult to get off of.
Jason and Dottie. I actually wrote out my typical “I like this about them…etc”…thing and then realized that it gave away waaaaayyyy too much when it comes to these two. So, I will say this. I loved them ~ in the end ~ but man did they try me. Both definitely are so complex, so much more than anyone ~ even those closest to them ~ could ever realize. They have huge hearts and great personalities and yet they both had me wanting to Gibbs smack them as much as I was laughing at and with them while wanting to hug them.
With such varied feelings towards them it should come as no surprise that their journey to the HEA had me feeling the same. But while their actions, reactions, thought processes ~ or lack there of ~ drove me batshit crazy, there were a few truths I can’t deny. The main, and most important, truth is that I really liked them together. They simply fit together and, not to sound cheesy, but they completed each other. And when things went sideways and upside down? Well, I was simply team #getyourshittogether and thankfully they did.
This one was definitely a ride, but also a great addition to the series. There was a good mix of things that had me laughing, groaning, and swooning to keep things interesting and me turning the pages to see what would happen next. I loved catching up with Knox, Emery, Carson and Millie and I’m still all about Cory, but now there is a newbie on the scene…Walker. Yup. If anyone needs an HEA it’s this guy. So toes crossed that there are plans in place for that to happen.
Note: This can be read as a stand-alone, but the books are interconnected, so, IMHO, it will be a lot more fun if you start at the beginning.

She first saw him in college, talking to his friends. Tall, broad, sculpted by his many hours in the weight room. His personality was larger than life and she was too shy to approach him.
Now he’s a professional baseball player, she’s a confident CEO, her crush is still strong, and she has a chance at winning a date with him.
Should she enter?

Jason is one of the funniest heroes I have ever encountered in a romance novel. I loved him from the first page and he is definitely my new book boyfriend. His attention to detail was unparalleled and I was amused by his recipe sharing and the fun he had with his teammates. He is the complete package: sexy, funny, thoughtful, athletic, a great cook and the perfect man for Dotty. She really needed someone to help her relax, make her smile and treat her like a queen. Jason had his work cut out for him, but with his dogged relentlessness and caring nature, he was confident he could win her heart.
Dotty had a big crush on Jason in college but she never acted on it because he was always surrounded by groupies at the baseball parties. As the years went by she followed his baseball career and was still in awe of him and his sexy, unforgettable butt.
Dotty had put Jason at the back of her mind, but after seeing his famous “towel picture” she knew that her feelings for him were still there. The image of him wearing only a towel was the tip of the iceberg, and she couldn’t stop staring at it on her computer. Jason was all wrong for her but why did she wish that he wasn’t?
OMG this is another home run for Meghan Quinn! I absolutely adore Jason and his over the top Jason-ness! I don’t think the smile left my face for very long the entire time it took me to read this sweet, charming and funny love story. I’ll tell you though, I was beginning to wonder if Jason and Dottie would ever get there and boy oh boy sometimes it was quite a struggle. Fantastic writing and story line, wonderful characters, oodles of humor and so much heart and soul, make this such an entertaining and enjoyable read.
