Want to know a secret? It’s about that girl over there.Don’t look, but she’s the one in the power suit—with the long, black hair and the serious expression, the one I’m about to go on a date with . . .Yeah, according to her, she “accidentally” donated an obscene amount of money to my charity — The Lineup — to win said date but I found out the truth. Miss. Button Up Blouse has a secret, passionate … has a secret, passionate crush on me.
I didn’t know her name until two days ago, despite the friends we have in common.
Was I oblivious? Probably.
Was I blind to it? Definitely.
But I’m no fool, I see it now. The High Heel Harlot wants more than just a date with Jason Orson, she wants to be able to claim the best butt in baseball as hers.
Here’s another secret . . . she has no idea I know.

When I say I have a harem of book boyfriends just from Meghan Quinn, I mean I could live on a commune with all of them and Jason Orson has just been added to the fold.
Jason is just the perfect amount of of swoon, alpha, and over the top ridiculousness you just want to put him in your pocket and carry him around so you’ll be smiling all day.
And Dottie? She’s a lady boss you love seeing unravel just for him and who you can totally sit next to and ogle Jason in THE towel picture with.
Another homer in from Meghan. Take me out to the ball game with this one.
Oh my! This story starts off with a very interesting twist! Y the end of the first chapter, I was chuckling about Jason’s biggest fear. Who is Dottie? How does Emory know her? Why do Lindsay and Emory torture Dottie? What do they do? What happens when Emory and Knox throw a celebration party? I could not stop smiling and shaking my head! The introduction between Jason and Mr. Domico is a gut-buster of a read. This was the funniest book of the Hot Jocks series so far. Jason is truly infectious. Read and see what transpires when Dottie plays hooky and after that!
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin’ With M. Brennan.
I enjoyed this one so much. I’m giving it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.
Knox and Carson were hard acts to follow up on, but Jason held his own. I still think Knox was my favorite overall, but Jason was also amazing. He’s definitely going on my book boyfriend list. I loved all of his different sides: funny/silly, sensitive/nurturing, and alpha male. I swooned so many times over little things he did for Dottie, random fans, his friends, etc. Plus he can cook, so sign me up!
Dorothy (Dottie) was a character I remembered from the first book pretty well, so I was excited to be inside her head. While I think I was the least like her compared to the other female characters in some aspects (not rich, not as driven, not a businesswoman really), I definitely understood her hesitation when it came to opening herself up to people, especially after her past.
If there was one thing I didn’t particularly like in the book, it was the lack of family. We saw Dottie’s dad a few times, but only for short snippets, and we only saw her mom once. We only saw Jason’s sister a couple times, and his brother once for like a paragraph. I wanted to see them interacting with their families, and to meet Jason’s parents. They seemed like such important parts in both of their lives, and I wished the book reflected that.
One of my favorite things about both of these characters was the charity aspect. Both had amazing hearts, and I loved what Dottie did at the end. Also it wasn’t anything major, but I was a little surprised this wasn’t set in college, but it made sense for the plot. This book gave me so many feels, and laughs. I absolutely love this series of baseball players, and I really hope there are many more books to come!

It’s been a while since I’ve read a rom-com that’s made me actually laugh out loud as often as this one did! I’ve enjoyed all the books in this “series” so far but this book was by far my favorite of the three! Jason Orson is truly one of a kind, such a fascinating blend of a teddy bear, goofball, and alpha male. He cracked me up and made me swoon time and again. I really enjoyed the bit of role reversal we had in this one. Dottie was the tough one while Jason was the big softie. You don’t often find that dynamic but it totally worked for these two. I loved how Jason wore his heart on his sleeve the entire time, his vulnerability and honesty were so endearing. I liked seeing him work his way through Dottie’s tough exterior. Also, as much as I enjoyed our time at Brentwood in the first two books, I’m glad that this book was set when they were a bit older (and as a bonus we get to see what’s going on with Emory/Knox and Carson/Milly in the present day!). For the most part, this was a light and easy read but there definitely was a healthy dose of angst and it will tug at your heart a bit. Overall, this book was a homerun! Grab yourself a copy and fall in love with Jason Orson too!
I was excited to dive into this read and I didn’t want it to be over! They dynamics between Jason and Dottie were, ummm, interesting! I say that with a laugh. This book made me lol for real. The banter between them was funny and maddening at times! Sometimes the communication between them was a little wonky to interesting outcomes. I liked the fact that Jason could cook and he was a sensitive guy. Dottie was a little tougher and Jason brought out the best in her. The sexual tension between them was intense! Jason was attracted to Dottie, but she was giving off don’t touch me vibes. However, her circumstances changed and she allowed herself the attraction to him. Ooh boy! This book was fun and I really enjoyed it. Meet the newest member to the Rebels roster today!
So many laughs! Meghan Quinn is one of my favorite rom-com authors! How does she come up with some of this?!? Besides laughing my way through this story I really enjoyed the story of Jason and Dottie. They had the chemistry but one of the characters was trying to fight it but that didn’t work out so well! I loved that we got to see cameos from some of the other characters in the series. While I enjoyed the story and it fit in really well with the series I feel like it is missing something to make it a 5 star read. Overall, it was a great and entertaining story. Meghan Quinn always delivers something great!
I knew I was going to go crazy over Jason, it was only a matter of how long it would take. Turns out, not that long. I didn’t even make it out of the prologue before I was smitten with this man (to be fair, if you’re a follower of this series like me, you were already a little smitten with him a long time ago).
Jason is a whirlwind of a man. He’s so full of life! He’s the funniest guy you’ll meet (you never know what’s going to come out of his mouth from one minute to the next), he’s one of the most charming and irresistible men you’ll find, and wow, is he delicious. Is he sexy? Heck, yeah, he is, but his looks aren’t his only attribute. He’s not just another pretty jock. He’s smart, kind, loyal, loving, a little bit cringe-worthy on occasion, and all-around amazing. This man is the total package.
Dottie is a force. For her, making it in a ‘man’s world’ is just another day at the office. She’s strong, smart, business savvy, and a real go-getter. But she’s also all work and no play. And while she seemingly has herself put together, there’s that one man that reverts her back to a lusting mess. It’s fun to watch her resist Jason (this is where his cringe-worthy personality trait tends to appear).
It’s a battle of wills in this one. Put Jason and Dottie together and who knows what will happen. Their encounters are often laugh-out-loud funny. And the chemistry between these two simmers from the beginning in a torturous slow burn. This whole series is amazing, and Jason is another in a long line of amazing MQ heroes we can’t help but fall in love with. This one gets all the stars from me.
Another adorable winner in the lineup of Meghan Quinn books!
A sports romance with plenty of passion, laughs, and sizzling slow-burn chemistry. I loved Jason and Dottie, these two are one of my favorite couples of hers. She’s take no prisoner, he’s swoonworthy. The laughs are plentiful, the story fantastic, and the sexiness is just the right amount. I can’t say enough good things about this book, so just read it!
OMG I just loved Jason to pieces. And man there is so much to love about him. I loved the witty humor and funny comebacks and his sensitive side was swoon worthy. And let’s not forget the sexy baseball body. Then there is Dottie. That woman is a spitfire. Her snarky comments were hilarious but what truly got me was when she let the walls down and actually was her true self. The banter between these two is the epitome of sexual tension.
Meghan hit a home run with this book. This one was by far my favorite in the series so far. Don’t get me wrong I loved Knox and Carson but there was just something about Jason that spoke to me and captured my heart. Together Jason and Dottie were pure magic. The banter, the chemistry, the laughs and the sexiness make this a must read rom-com right here.
Heartfelt, sexy and hilarious sports romance.
This is another winner in the Brentwood Baseball series. Each book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone.
Opposites attracting with a bit of a challenge, made this funny, sexy story just a fun feel good read.
Sharp, clever writing with spot on banter. The characters were off the charts likable and relatable.
4.5 stars!
Jason and Dorothy are awesome. Jason is flat out crazy funny and Dorothy is very cool and professional with a sarcastic edge. Can Jason break through her tough exterior. Love all the characters and storylines in this book. Great book. Highly recommend
In a series of books that started with the baseball players of Brentwood University, readers are now following them as they enter the Big Leagues. Readers get to see the evolution of their romantic relationships along with their flourishing careers in a thoroughly entertaining read from the first page to the last.
Jason Orson is a larger than life ball player, a young man with an immensely appealing and bold personality. Many of his actions, like cooking and showing the videos on Instagram, showed someone good at entertaining and who does so to make those around him feel cared for. He has a big heart and isn’t afraid to put it on display through the creation of his charity, a charity that brings him and the woman who enjoys battling him, together. With each turn of the page I fell even more in love with Jason as he has a heart of gold and isn’t afraid to show his softer side. When discussing his disabled twin brother, and how much he influenced Jason, it brought a tear to my eye and I appreciated the author’s inclusion of him in the story. Jason isn’t afraid to laugh at himself either and his personality completely endeared him to me. When it came to Dottie he held nothing back and went above and beyond to work through the wall she put around her heart. He was flirtatious, self-assured, and gave as good as he got in his interactions with her which put a smile on my face. From the moment I met Jason I was completely won over by his charm and kindheartedness and he was a large reason why this story was such a winner.
Dottie Domico is a woman trying to succeed in a man’s world, a daughter trying to make her father proud, and it’s made her a formidable opponent in the world of real estate. When it comes to her career she’s definitely all work and no play, her heart hardened by a duplicitous ex that has her staying far away from men to protect her heart. Being reintroduced to Jason though brings all sorts of emotional chaos to her structured life. As a college student he made nightly appearances in her dreams while making her drool over him during the day. Her obsession with him still burns bright and when she wins a date with him through his charity it brings them together in a slow burn relationship that grew more combustible with each turn of the page. Dottie’s a strong-willed heroine, a bit overly-harsh at the start of the book, but a woman who takes no guff, and in many ways I admired her. It’s clear she’s still hurting from the deceptions of her ex though, still refusing to take a chance on matters of the heart, and her journey to HEA is one that kept me glued to the pages.
Jason and Dottie are a delightful duo whose connection captivated me. They may have started out as enemies, with witty banter that felt more like foreplay, but as the story progressed their interactions took on a more sensual vibe that had me rooting for them every step of the way. Their banter was thoroughly entertaining and led to many laugh out loud moments that oozed sexual tension. Along with this crackling main couple was an equally appealing cast of secondary characters, characters that we’ve seen in previous books in this series. I loved discovering what Carson and Milly, along with Knox and Emory, have been up to as their relationships continue to evolve in ways that had me cheering. The interactions between Jason, Knox, and Carson were playful with a brotherly vibe that made me smile as each goaded the others as friends and as a pseudo family. Dottie too had a wonderful chemistry with Emory and Lindsay as each engaged in playfulness and supportiveness that brought out some powerful Girl Power. From the first page to the last Ms. Quinn has crafted another winner, another tale full of unforgettable characters and their slow burn relationship. Laugh out loud moments were perfectly balanced with a sizzling connection between a delightful hero and a strong-willed heroine that readers will definitely want to read!
Let me start off by saying I laughed A LOT!!!! Sometimes to the point I thought I was going to wake up my husband. I absolutely love Meghan Quinn’s humor. Jason and Dottie, I really enjoyed reading about these two. They seemed to bring out the best in each other and had great chemistry. Jason is your next book boyfriend. I LOVED him!
Laugh out loud hilarious! I’m not sure you are ready to meet Jason Orson. He is so over the top it’s ridiculous! You may have gotten a glimpse of him if you’ve read The Locker Room or The Dugout, but nothing can prepare you for what’s in store. He is a sensitive soul that has no shame. He isn’t afraid to show some tears or get all touchy feeling with his emotions… even around the other guys. And his biggest pride and joy? His potato salad. Yup, you’ve read that right. Not his status as one of the best MLB catchers or even the high rating his hind end has with the public or THE infamous towel pic. Nope, it’s his food making skills. He isn’t lacking self confidence, he he does need his ego stroked often. It’s all part of his charm. And poor poor Dottie. Won’t know what she’s gotten herself into. In this story you won’t find the guy screwing things up, but the woman. Despite her high intense career, this take no prisoners woman is just as self conscious as the next girl when it comes to matters of the heart. And it nearly cost her everything. This book is a big game of cat and mouse. One pursuing the other until suddenly they flip roles. There is some sexual content (for mature readers only,) but it isn’t what rules the story. It’s a well written and thought out story filled with laughter the whole way through. Even during Mr. Sensitive’s heart breaking moments, you’ll find laughs. Of course the side characters bring some added comedy. Having said all that…. back off ladies (and gents.) Jason is all mine! 😀

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
I don’t really know how to review this one. The main reason? Jason and Dottie drove me nuts most of the time. It’s not that I didn’t like them. It’s just, there were so many little things that irritated the hell out of me about their situation, or certain things they one or the other would do.
Jason is a really sweetheart, and I liked that. But he was also really annoying at times, because what on earth goes on in his head? He doesn’t even know haha. And Dottie, she just frustrated me with her communication most of the time.
These two do work really well together, they were a great couple, just lots of little things annoyed me. And maybe I wasn’t partially in the right frame of mind at the time of reading, so that probably didn’t help either.
I liked getting back into this world of characters, and I loved getting Knox and Carson and the girls in there too. One really great theme in this series is the characters with such big hearts. Jason and Dottie were no different, and there are some really special things they do in this that highlight that.
I laughed, I rolled my eyes and got frustrated, and I was happy when things finally came together. This one sure takes you on a ride, and its another great addition to this series.
This book had me hooked from the beginning. Of course I remember Jason fondly from the previous books, especially at the end of the Dugout. I have to say Jason (the hero) is one of the funniest characters author Meghan Quinn has ever created and I’ve read all of her books. He’s so delightfully random in his tangential rants that range from silly to absurd, you have no chance but to laugh at the adorableness that is Jason. Dottie gets on his radar when she donates a large sum to his charity, winning a date with him, but doesn’t stick around for the date. Confused, he starts asking about her. He turns his crazy stunts and rants up a few notches to try to win the heart of Dottie when he hears rumors she had a crush on him since college.
The entire thing is so enjoyable it’s a delight to read. And if you like steamy scenes, there are a few of those as well. Every now and again an author creates a character that I wish I had as a friend in my inner circle and Jason is one of those characters. I loved this book and give it a 5 star rating.

Oh my word! I do believe Jason Orson has stolen my heart! Once again, Meghan Quinn has blown me away with her impeccable writing and kept me in stitches with her quirky humor. I haven’t laughed out loud this much while reading in quite a while. You know what I’m talking about, the snort kind of laugh that makes everyone around look at you like you’re crazy. Trust me, Jason and Dottie are totally worth it. Jason Orson is the biggest goofball with a heart of gold and I absolutely ADORED him. And only a neurotic man like him could bring out the hidden softer side of a powerhouse like Dottie Domico. These two were so perfect for each other and their chemistry is off the chain HAWT. There is definitely never a dull moment between these two. The Lineup is definitely my favorite out of the series and definitely a homerun for Quinn.

This book had me hooked from the first page and didn’t let up all the way to the end. Jason was flipping hilarious and the absolute perfect guy to loosen up the buttoned down Dottie! Sweet, snarky and ridiculously adorable with the best butt in baseball, who turns down that guy for a date?? A crazy person, that’s who! Dottie might be a neurotic, control freak, secretly harboring a crush but she’s not crazy… not all the time anyway. Jason practically forces her into dating him but alls well that ends well, right? This baseball badass is swinging for the fences and he’s bringing it all the way home!
The friend group was awesome and kept me laughing and the charity was amazing and kept me tearing up! Great job!

Meghan has just given me my new favourite Hero amongst the Brentwood Baseball men, Jason Orsen is the full package with the bubble butt to fill out those baseball pants to boot. The Lineup had me laughing throughout, but it wasn’t all about the humour. Meghan packed in a great story line focusing around the heroine Dottie, a CEO business woman a true #GirlBoss who has had a crush on Jason since college; but plays it like she hates him. That is until a business deal is at risk when she doesn’t come across as a family woman. Needing to prove herself as that wholesome modern CEO, Dottie blurts out she is dating Jason Orsen Baseball’s hottest player right now and decides the time has come to make her secret crush fantasies a reality.
I liked the enemies to lover vibe the book begins with, Jason’s outrageous commentary keeps it lighthearted and quick witted. As the book progresses Dottie softens and their relationship blossoms and we see a whole new side to Jason that I was not expecting and oooooooo it was hot! Where Dottie may seem hard, Jason softened her edges and their slow burn soon picks up pace until the truth comes to stare Jason right in the face. If you are a Meghan Quinn fan you know she likes to throw a spanner in the works and this one almost gave me a heart attack at one point.
I loved the way Meghan made the relationship between Dottie and Jason multifaceted, both strong independent people, both so different yet similar. Meghan’s writing flowed beautifully and had a perfect balance of humour and emotionality. I challenge anyone to read the Lineup and not fall in love with Jason Orsen.
