Want to know a secret? It’s about that girl over there.Don’t look, but she’s the one in the power suit—with the long, black hair and the serious expression, the one I’m about to go on a date with . . .Yeah, according to her, she “accidentally” donated an obscene amount of money to my charity — The Lineup — to win said date but I found out the truth. Miss. Button Up Blouse has a secret, passionate … has a secret, passionate crush on me.
I didn’t know her name until two days ago, despite the friends we have in common.
Was I oblivious? Probably.
Was I blind to it? Definitely.
But I’m no fool, I see it now. The High Heel Harlot wants more than just a date with Jason Orson, she wants to be able to claim the best butt in baseball as hers.
Here’s another secret . . . she has no idea I know.

Ugh, all these emotions! The Lineup was just perfection.
Jason is one of those guys; you just wish was real. He’s hilarious, sensitive (not overly sensitive) but just right. Dottie is closed off and hard to crack. Given her history, I understand why.
Though this starts with Dottie making up a relationship, it ends up being real. Quinn has this way of building relationships, and then watching them fall apart (which hit me right in the heart, tears and all) only to have it put back right. I’m never disappointed with Quinn. I’ve never gotten tired of her stories. These characters are just so easy to love.
Overall, Five Boundless Stars
The Lineup by Meghan Quinn is without a doubt one of my favourite books.
I was engrossed in the story of Jason and Dottie from the very first page. Actually I should say “I was in like and I wanted everyone to know about it” I was in love very quickly!!
Jason is my favourite Male characters of hers! I said it and let me tell you Bodi had own my heart for a few years now. Jason stole my heart , he is everything any girl dreams of, he is everything mothers dream of for their child… HE IS UTTER PERFECTION AND ROCKED MY WORLD.
“He’s so magnetic I fear I would fall for him and fall hard.”
The Lineup has it all- amazing secondary characters that we know from previous books, outstanding alpha male and sassy woman, and a flawless storyline.
You are guaranteed lots of emotions in this book from happiness..sexiness..sadness and more.
The dialogues , the texts made me laugh so hard.
The humour and witty dialogue from our sexy alpha male Jason are EVERYTHING! I have never loved a male friendship group as much. Jason, Knox and Carson are just the definition of what Bromance is or should be!
Jason has some genius one liners & terms that I know I will be trying for myself.
The Lineup is the sexiest AND funniest book I’ve read for a long time!
I want to hang out with Big Daddy Boo-Boo Bear , wear matching T-shirts and eat the #BestDamnTatoSaladEver
Go and read this book it’s just the best of the best!
FIVE BASEBALL STARS for Dottie and Jason !!!
What can I say about this book?!
As you know the first book I’ve read by Meghan was “The Locker Room” and I became obsessed with her writing.
She took my heart with her writing style and especially with her heroes that you want to exist in real life.
So, if you read “The Locker Room” and “The Dugout” and you loved them, then you definitely should read this book too.
You will fall in love again with the new Meghan’s characters and you will want to read more about them no matter how many pages book has !
Highly recommended!!!
~~TOP 10 RECOMMENDED~~
So what will it take to get Jason’s attention into dating and maybe committment? A $10k donation to his charity and a woman in killer business suit with a body that will make even him drool more than his potato salad. The thing is Dottie is not damsel in distress and really not into baseball which I thought was the breaking point between them lol. Now unlike Meghan Quinns other players have to say Jason seemed more funny than serious which is great but there were times I wanted him to be well like the others. Readers will love seeing Dottie not easily fall for his charms and laugh to see Jason starting to doubt his charms and well tight ass. Lets just say like Helen of Troy that cast a 1000 ships everybody will fall for Jason’s behind and potato salad apparently. Now he is perfect for Dottie for he’s exactly what she needs to loosen up. One thing that got me was no matter how much she messed up before Dottie is learning from her mistakes which makes her good in my eyes. Loved that it wasn’t just them but we saw the whole gang again from Carson, Knox to even seeing a side of Jason we didn’t see before. The laughter, teasing and even the hot sex these two have is the perfect recipe for a long lasting relationship but man the downs they take just make it stronger.

I was up way to late reading this book I just could not put it down !!
Seriously there was a part in this book where I laughed so hard tears where running down my face !!
Jason is the best thing ever !! He cracks me up!!
And Dottie ! Gosh I love her hard butt attitude !!
And them together is just epic !!
I can’t wait for more !!
Meghan Quinn is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. With each book I read of hers I find myself falling in love with her writing, her plots and her characters. The Lineup is another in a line of fabulous rom-coms by this talented author that is not to be missed. A complete standalone but interconnected with The Locker Room and The Dugout, this story will make you laugh out loud repeatedly but also send a punch to your gut with emotion. Perfectly balanced, this story is definitely a winner.
Jason just about killed me! This man is hilarious and majorly swoon-worthy. He’s a successful professional baseball player with a heart of gold whose mouth and brain have no filter. He says what he’s thinking no matter how outrageous it is. His sensitive nature and emotional side only make him that much more perfect. There is nothing that I disliked about this man making him the perfect book boyfriend! Dottie is strong, successful and independent. She’s been burned before so her walls are pretty thick when it comes to trusting men. Jason is pretty hard to resist though and he pretty much bulldozes through those walls with ease. I loved the push and pull between these two. Their banter was witty and fun making their relationship a joy to read. Quinn nailed the humor perfectly. With secondary characters that were just as entertaining and loveable, The Lineup was a true delight to read. 5 stars
This book has it all: lots of humor, opposites attract, ups and downs, hot sexy times and wonderfully complex and lovable main characters. Good writing is what you expect from Meghan Quinn and she doesn’t disappoint. I loved it! Highly recommend. 🙂
This is the third book in her Baseball Series, although this is part of a series all three of these books can be read as standalones. It is rare for me to completely agree that a book is truly a standalone, but these are. The guys are college friends, but have their own story to tell. The reader doesn’t feel like they are missing something by starting with this book. I do recommend reading the previous books, but only because Quinn is a brilliant writer and will keep you entertained with the characters quirkiness and humor.
I fell in love with Dottie in The Locker Room with Emory and Knox (Dottie is one of two besties to Emory). Quinn didn’t disappoint. Dottie has calmed down since her college days, although her crush on Jason Orson was comical in The Locker Room. That crush carried over and escalated to hilarity in The Lineup. Now, Dottie forgets how to relax. The stereotypical workaholic. Dottie does make time for her friends and gives generously to various charities. One that was a complete mistake. A mistake…that frustrated and scared Dottie beyond belief. She’ll be close to the man she’s crushed on since college. How can she keep from fangirling? Cancel. Avoid him at all costs. Too bad he’s best friends with her bestie’s boyfriend. She’s went this long without running into him, she can do this.
Jason Orson believes in keeping his promises. No matter what. The enigma of a woman who won a date with him through his charity will get that date. Even if her highest bid was a mistake–ouch. He also knows that the moment he shared burgers and fries with her confirmed his belief. His sister thought he’s crazy for thinking this woman–a woman he thought he never met could be “the one.” Who thinks like that? Their chemistry of off the charts. She might deny it, but she felt it too. He’s going to convince her.
I do need to add that Chapter 29…priceless. I laughed so hard that I was crying. I can’t remember the last time that happened. A definite must read!
4.5 Stars
I loved Jason. He’s my favorite now. I mean he’s a catcher just ask my friends and family I have a weakness for them. Then add in he can cook like a dream and has a sensitive side. He’s has top book boyfriend material. Plus he has a great sense of humor.I can’t tell you how many times I laughed out loud while reading this book. I’m not gonna lie I struggled a little with Dottie. I had to warm up to her. She definitely needs someone like Jason in her life to get her to relax a bit more. I completely understand why she is like she is, but it rubbed me the wrong way a tad. She did win me over. Something else I really enjoyed about this book is we get to see how Carson and Knox are doing. Catching up with those guys is a big highlight for me. This is a must read for sure! It has a great combination of heart, heat, and humor. It’s one that’s hard to out down.
Entertaining rom-com!! Well written, funny, sweet, and entertaining! The first I’ve read from this author and this series, so overall impressed and will read more of the author’s works in future. Steamy scenes that were great, but don’t think that many were needed in order for the story to flow and develop. Would have loved for the author to explore more of the past lives of the main characters along with showing more of their dynamic over time, or even seeing how they deal with their relationship while Jason was in season. Like, we get it, their sex is great, but let’s see more of the other parts of their relationship lol maybe it’s just me.
The Lineup is only my second book of Meghan Quinn, and I am still in between with her stories. I am not a huge fan of baseball, and I am not a big fan of sport romance stories. But I read the first story The Dugout and liked it so I thought I would read this one. The Dugout does prove you don’t have to read them in order.
The Lineup is a good story if you want to lay back and read a light romance. There are a couple of twists in this story, but nothing you have to worry about. Meghan brings a novel to light that is easy to enjoy on a Sunday afternoon.
So I am a huge fan of Meghan’s books and her stories have a way of drawing you in to a world you want to be apart of. This series of books has been my favorite so far. Each guy brings a new aspect to the story. Jason is a special one of the group.. He’s sensitive, sweet and has a heart of gold. He cares very deeply and when he loves, its forever, even if he does open his mouth and screws things up. Oh and a bonus besides having the nicest butt in baseball, he can cook anything. I loved Jason and his heart. I loved how despite the crap that Dottie gave him at first, he kept trying to get her attention and show her he wasn’t like the other losers before him. These two have a very special relationship at first. There’s a lot of tension between them. Dottie is a strong woman with a lot of opinions, which she shares openly. She had a crush in college and her friends all know/knew it. She hasn’t really got over it and when he moves back to Chicago, she needs to decide whether she still wants him or not. She has worked her butt off at work to get where she is. She didn’t rely on Daddy get her the position either. She has a situation at work that caused her to do something she normally wouldn’t do. She put herself in a spot that required her to talk to Jason. She wasn’t exactly honest with her and that’s why communication is important in a relationship. There’s some super sweet moments along with some moments where you wonder if they will make it or not. These two have some serious connection. I seriously loved this book and soaked up every word that was written! Can’t wait for more from this author and more baseball guys!!
Loved this book.
Loved the storyline and the characters and the connection between them all.
Loved Dottie and Jason.
So glad Jason went after her to make up and end with HEA
Needed tissues again at the ready
ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF 2019!
I really didn’t think Meghan Quinn could outdo The Dugout because I loved it so much but I am over the moon fangirling over The Lineup because it is SO FREAKIN’ GOOD. Seriously, I loved everything about this book and am about to reread it and reread it again because I never want to leave Jason Orson.
Where to start on this amazing, well-written, hilarious, heart stopping romance….
My New Favorite Book Boyfriend: Jason Orson
Jason Orson is hands down one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends if not THE favorite of all time and that is saying something people. He is a unicorn ladies and gentlemen- someone so utterly perfect he can’t possibly exist in real life but man do I wish he did because I would hold on tight to this man and never let him go.
What I love most about Jason is that he is completely comfortable in his own skin. He’s not afraid to bawl his eyes out or scream like a baby when confronted with a bear. He will talk feelings with his boys like it’s a complete girl gabfest and he will admire his sculpted body and ass along with anyone.
“Do I smile when sharing a candlelit dinner with myself, followed by a nice long soak in a bubble bath while Enya- the fucking goddess of all voices- plays in the background? I sure as shit do.”
He’s also the hottest dirty talker who loves to cuddle after sex and despite his sensitive side he is an alpha in the bedroom, knowing what he wants and more importantly knowing what and how his partner wants and needs it. Good God I’m fanning myself just thinking about his bedroom prowess. And I want his and Dottie’s first kiss dammit. He’s right – when it comes to the bedroom, he does not fuck around.
“Trust that I know how to not only fuck you but pleasure you so every other man is worthless to you.”
Seriously, I don’t think I could crush on this boy any harder. Not only is he one hot baseball player, a giving philanthropist and friend, he also COOKS ladies. Yes, he loves to cook and he’s freaking amazing at it. Unicorn, I tell you, he’s a unicorn. I for one can get behind (or under) a man who makes the best dam tato salad ever.
And he wraps up this amazing package (yes, I’m referring to that one too) with the most amazing sense of humor. I don’t think I’ll ever think of a scrotum in the same light again after his tirade and I hope that I can find myself texting with someone like him one day as well who types “*My penis and your vagina 4ever*”
“…how the hell am I supposed to pay attention to the intricate plot of True Lies with Boobsy McGee sitting next to me with no bra on, acting as if everything is just casual, like I don’t want to stick my penis in her cleavage? Because I do. I want to dipstick her tits so bad it’s all my mind can think about – dip, dip, dip, DIP- I can’t think of anything else other than whipping my proud penis out of its confines and testing out the warmth of her boobs.”
Dottie: My Favorite Heroine
Dottie has become this tense and rigid business woman who was burned, betrayed and used by a man in her past so she’s very hesitant to date again. She’s had a crush on Jason since they were in college, yet she fears that she’ll fall hard and get hurt again if she lets herself get close to him so she puts up a hard exterior when they are reconnected. Her hesitation is no match for Jason however. For some reason her eye rolling and standoff attitude is catnip to him and he slowly wears down her walls.
Of course, there’s one hiccup to their happiness that occurs because of Dottie’s fear but she owns her mistake. I love her actions and response to rectify this mistake though I will say that I bawled my eyes out seeing them both hurt. BAWLED MY EYES OUT because I love them so much.
Meghan Quinn is the Queen of Romantic Humor
If I could give Meghan Quinn all the boob squeezes in the world for writing this amazing book and these amazing characters I would (that sounds really weird but it’s her thing and if you’re in her Facebook fan group you’d know). I have never been so sucked into a book that I’m just soaking in every page and laughing my ass off at each turn. Her writing makes even the simplest of actions in a story so funny and unique that I’m in awe of her talent. I mean who would describe polished silverware based on the clear view of someone’s gonads? Hilarious- and you just have to read the book to get it.
Not only do I absolutely love Jason and Dottie but now I love Lindsay and Walker as well. She has her hands full because I need their books STAT as well as Cory’s. Please don’t leave me hanging Meghan! Given how fantastic this book is after The Dugout I just know they will be amazing.
Now that I’ve fangirled enough there is no reason not to read this book. It’s the most hilarious book I’ve read in a very long time and one that had my heart on a platter from the very beginning with these two. READ THIS BOOK!

The Line Up is the third book in the series following a small interconnected group of professional baseball players from college to the big leagues. The Line Up is funny man, Jason Orson’s turn to fall in love and have his heart ripped in two… will it be put back together?
It’s hard not to like Jason. From the very first book, The Locker Room, he has stood out as the clown of the group, but also as someone who is using humour to cover a big heart. His propensity to kiss his friends on the lips, despite their protests, is just one example. Funny, yes, but also heartfelt. The boys’ reactions to receiving the kiss – hilarious!
Dottie was perfect for him. She truly appreciated his sense of humour, but as a bit more of a serious personality, she levelled out his tendency to go over the top, whilst at the same time his extroversion made her come out of her shell a bit more.
The Line Up is filled with the humour, heart, and a bit of angst, that I’ve come to expect from a Meghan Quinn book. It was perhaps a bit lighter than the previous two books, but no less addictive.
Meghan Quinn has quickly become one of my favourite authors and her books are on my automatic buy list. I love her ability to blend harmoniously snarky humour, great characters, depth of emotion, a bit of drama, and just a touch (okay a lot) of heat.
The Line Up can be read as a standalone, but if you haven’t read the previous two books, I would highly recommend that you do so. There is so much background information that you miss out on otherwise. This background information is not detrimental to understanding this story, but to have it, makes it a much richer experience.
Meghan sure knows how to bring a lot of humor to a sexy love story.
Jason Orson is a baseball catcher just traded back to his hometown of Chicago, not his favorite team but he is happy to be back with all his friends. He is hilarious
Dottie has been used by men and hurt by men she is focused on the family business no time for guys.
I love all the friends, will have to read the other books in the series to learn about their love stories. Such a fun read.
The Lineup is the third book in the interconnected series and follows a different couple per book. In The Lineup, it features the story of Jason and Dottie, friends of the past couples of this series.
Though they both have graduated from the same college, attended most of the same parties and have the same set of friends, these two have never had the chance to be properly acquainted. Sure, Dottie has had a crush on Jason and his bubble butt during those college years but nothing happened with it. While Jason was busy with his baseball and studies. Years later, now Dottie is a successful career woman who was recently burned by love and swore dating for awhile. Jason was recently traded, living in the same city with his friends who was now busy looking for a suitable girlfriend for him.
When Dottie’s assistant mistakenly donated a large sum of money to Jason’s charity and earned her a date with him, the fun times started. Oh my, the witty back and forth of these two is priceless. Not only that, the dialogues, the friendship and loyalty that these characters showed had me turning the pages of this story quickly while grinning myself silly. This is one of those stories that you will re-read with its laughed-out-loud moments, friendship goals and good old romance that will warm your heart. Highly recommend it!
Jason has moved to the top of my book boyfriend list!
Jason! I love this book so much, Jason and Dotty story is amazing, you get the sexy baseball player and the beautiful strong girl, with the humor just Meghan Quinn can provide, it gives Jason the right way to break Dotty’s walls down and win her over. You will find hilarious moments and all the romance you love all in one, this is a must read book, just the one that makes you cry and laugh at the same time.
Honestly with each book that Meghan Quinn releases, I always think that these characters can’t become my new favourites but somehow they also do. Meghan grabs me by the first page and keeps me hooked on the story until the last page.
Jason is so funny, loveable, and his has a heart of gold. You can’t help but like him and Dottie was no different. She loved his little quirks by the end.
Meghan always adds a little drama to her books and this one was no different but luckily everything works out in the end.
I loved this story so much and I loved the interaction we had with past couples because they will always have a place in my heart!
