Want to know a secret? It’s about that girl over there.Don’t look, but she’s the one in the power suit—with the long, black hair and the serious expression, the one I’m about to go on a date with . . .Yeah, according to her, she “accidentally” donated an obscene amount of money to my charity — The Lineup — to win said date but I found out the truth. Miss. Button Up Blouse has a secret, passionate … has a secret, passionate crush on me.
I didn’t know her name until two days ago, despite the friends we have in common.
Was I oblivious? Probably.
Was I blind to it? Definitely.
But I’m no fool, I see it now. The High Heel Harlot wants more than just a date with Jason Orson, she wants to be able to claim the best butt in baseball as hers.
Here’s another secret . . . she has no idea I know.

Let me start with what I loved. JASON! Everything Jason. He was sweet, kind, enthusiastic and ridiculous. His inner monologue was hilarious and his dialog was absurd and delightful. I adored him.
What I didn’t love was Dottie. I really enjoyed her character in a previous book, but I couldn’t connect with her in this one. She just wasn’t right for Jason and I found it a little difficult to root for them as a couple.
But I was still able to enjoy the overall book. I laughed a lot, and it was fun to get to see the couples from the previous books.
Side note, I would totally buy a recipe book by Jason Orson.
I let out an audible GASP at one point while reading this, complete with hands flying to my face in shock, horror, and possibly relief. And that speaks to just how well this author gets her readers wrapped up in the story. This story has combustible chemistry, sexual tension, and angst, all paired with so much shared history that you can feel the depth of the relationship between Dottie & Jason.
The Lineup If I hadn’t already declared Ms. Quinn as a favourite, then this book.. this would be the book to cement that distinction. This was hilarious. Jason was such a sweetheart. The chemistry and banter between him and Dottie was off the charts. While the conflict I could see coming and I wasn’t all that thrilled with Dottie, Jason and the gang more than made up for that little blip. While I’m rating The Lineup 4.5 stars, it’s the extended epilogue from the ebook that’s bumping this up to the full 5 stars. It’s precious. This is more than a solid romance collection. It’s fill of emotion, humor, banter, friendships and loving relationships. If sports romance is your bag? You’ll need this in your life.
Jason is hilarious and big goof, except when it comes to cooking or taking his woman in the bedroom. This book had me cracking up from page one. I love Dottie and Jason together. They’re a bit of a second chance romance because she’s had eyes for him since college. There’s also a slight fake dating element to the story. I loved everything about these 2!
I loved this series. I read The Trade by chance and had to start at the first book in the series because I wanted to know all the characters. Each one can be read as a stand-alone but it’s better to read them in order. I love these guys and the ladies who win them.
Jason is one of the most lovable guys in baseball. Dottie is a complete Boss Babe. She has had a crush on Jason since college, he was completely clueless. In an effort to wow a client she lies about their relationship. This leads her to finally take a chance and the rest is history. Hysterical, laugh out loud, ponder questions never pondered before, root for love and get to revisit old friends. Jason will surprise you with his alpha, dirty talking ways. Seriously, the heat and swoon factor are off the charts.
One of the funniest excerpts I’ve ever read:
“That bear ran off to get a hearing aid from your lady shriek.” Dottie pulls on her ear. “Dogs for miles heard your screaming.” “More like war cry.” I cross my arms over my chest. “More like your balls crawled up inside of you to hit such a high octave.” More like balls shriveled up from pure terror. “Are you saying you weren’t impressed with my display of heroism? I was a goddamn white knight back there.” She looks back at me as she heads toward the cabin. “You were a petrified clown, but it was . . . cute.”
“…this is almost too good to be true. I found her. My woman. My future.”
Another winner!!! In my review of The Dugout also by Meghan Quinn I explained a little about this “not series”, the books have similar covers, so you’ll know they are a set. The Lineup is the third book. And after reading about Knox and Carson I couldn’t wait to read the story about Jason.
Jason was traded to Chicago, but one thing we know from Jason is that he is the easy-going guy, a great cook, thinks the best of everyone and let’s not forget the one who wears his emotions on his sleeves. So, he’s not having a hard time in his new team, he has always been the guy who looks out for everybody, kind of like the mamma hen of the team. With a heart of gold, he built The Lineup, a charity that is just as important as his family. So, one of the best ways of getting donations, is to organize an auction… to win a date with him and just keep in mind that Jason is a charmer.
Dottie is the strong independent and successful woman in of the best real estate companies as the right hand of his father, she didn’t get to be in the position she is now by slacking, she earned it and while doing it had a few experiences that taught her that no matter what, people will always find a way to use her, so she has detached from her emotions and has no time for relationships, but she has a good heart; donating to charity every year…but this year, well a little misunderstanding led her do bid for the date with the hot Jason Orson.
I was so eager to read this one, the male character is completely the opposite of the rest of the characters; so I was very impressed to read and feel the powerful connection that both characters had even if Jason seemed like the sensitive guy; well he is, but he is also so much more and believe me the steamy scenes in this one are just as good as the rest of the books that Meghan writes, you’ll want to read this one!!!
This story has interconnected characters with The Locker Room and The Dugout, and I loved to see them again. Jason and Dottie’s story is amazing, sweet, absolutely hilarious, and heartwarming. I love their banters, and their slow burn story. Jason is handsome, surprisingly softy, but commanding, sexy, and caring. Dottie is independent, bossy, rich, smart, and sassy. They are perfectly amazing together. The supporting characters are great. I loved the friendship in this story. Stephen Dexter and Maxine Mitchell did an outstanding job with the narration. I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it. This is a perfect summer listen.
I cannot express how much I loved listening to The Lineup by Meghan Quinn. Brought to life by Stephan Dexter and Maxine Mitchell, I laughed, smiled and swooned through most of this story. Stephen Dexter was perfect as Jason Orson. Jason was the fun and lovable guy. He was a cook, a friend, the perfect host and above all, the best catcher in the league. Excited to be back in Chicago and close to his friends, nothing could be more perfect. That is until Dottie enters his life. They went to college together and share friends, but they never really got to know each other, well until now.
As part of the off season, Jason is working hard on his charity, The Lineup. One of those things he is working on? An auction date. But when the woman who won cancelled, he knows something is up. Dottie has always crushed on Jason, but now as her career is really taking off, the last thing she needs is a distraction. But somehow Jason works his way into her life. Jason is just too perfect. Sweet, romantic, caring and a jokester. Dottie is all work and no play. She has no room for a relationship, right? But Jason has other plans. Can they make it work before it’s too late? The Lineup by Meghan Quinn is a must-read and/or listen. It is a great story with one hot and amazing book boyfriend!
Listened and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book blog.
Happy listening!

I loved this listen so much! The banter between Jason and Dottie is to die for! Jason had me cracking up so hard, I couldn’t contain it. I love a funny guy and he was EVERYTHING! The total package this one, with his heart of gold, great sense of humor, and so freaking HOT! And Dottie is this seriously strong, independent heroine with a big heart. Stephen Dexter did a fantastic job as Jason, his voice is perfect for this character. And Maxine Mitchell gives that perfect, strong, and confident voice to Dottie that encompasses her character completely. You’ll be laughing and swooning all the way through with this listen! Completely worth the one click!
Audiobook Review
This book is hilarious!
I’m still laughing!
Jason is something else. OMG I loved him so much and his humor is so over the top. The things he says. You’ll have tears in your eyes. I did. Also be prepared because this book made me super hungry.
There is bust your gut, laughing out loud moments as well as lots of streamy, sexy scenes. Over all I loved it.
Narrators were both amazing. Loved both of their work with the voices.
I love Meghan Quinn’s writing! This series and world she has created has me enthralled and I love falling in love with these characters and getting to read their stories. Not a single one has disappointed.
I absolutely loved this book! Jason has definitely moved to a top spot on the book boyfriend list! This book gave me all the feels! I laughed through the majority of it but when it was time to get emotional you will really feel it! Go read this book now!!
Jason vs Dottie, was definitely an interesting read. Jason is very…. odd and Dottie is described as having a stick up her ass.
Two very odd people that have a history of being hurt in the past yet there is that attraction to eachother for sure!
This had a lot of tension between the two but many of their interactions very funny. Jason doing and saying the quirkiest things, Dottie pretending she can’t stand him.
This was an enjoyable read however did not think it was as good as the others in the series.
Jason made me laugh out loud so how could you not love him?
Nobody writes a baseball romance better than Meghan Quinn. The Lineup is another gem in this amazing series. Jason and Dottie were made for each other.
Jason was so ridiculous that you couldn’t help but love him. He was confident in his masculinity but also loved to do stuff that would endear him to any female. He loved to cook and would make any woman feel special.
Dottie was a take charge, no-nonsense business woman with a heart of gold. She was slow to trust, but Jason was patient and gave her time to adjust to his attention.
These two together were special. Their banter was fantastic and they were hot together. I couldn’t count the number of time they made me literally laugh aloud.
If you love sport romances with heart and lot of laughs, I highly recommend The Lineup. It is a homerun!!
Jason is one of the best catchers in baseball and he is traded back to his hometown in Chicago. He is happy to be back with his friends, Knox and Carson. Dottie has had a crush on Jason since college and she saw him across campus joking with friends but she never had the courage to approach him, even when her BF Emory started dating Knox. Dottie’s assistant accidentally bids on a date with Jason with all proceeds going to his foundation, The Lineup. Of course she wins and hilarity is to ensue.
This one was a giant miss for me and that makes me sad since I loved The Locker Room and The Dugout. I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn’t. Dottie annoys me throughout the book and I just could not relate to her at all. I understand she was hurt before but her reaction to Jason was overt the top and I couldn’t understand why she was so mean to him. And then for Jason to just take it and say it turned him on? Nope, I don’t see it or feel it. It is one thing to be turned on or amused by snark but this wasn’t snark. It was straight up mean and rude. And then like a light switch it is gone and they are going on a road trip together? Jason in this book seems like a different Jason than we met in The Dugout. He is funny at times but he is just soooo overly sensitive and girly. And the switch to alpha in the bedroom? It didn’t work for me. I just couldn’t relate to these characters and it makes me really really sad.
Sweet funny book….would highly recommend it!
This whole thing makes my heart just dance!
This is literally a RomCom at its finest. This story is sooo full of heart, complete with major LMFAO moments and with a tad bit of angst as the cherry on top.
I literally laughed from beginning to end. Not giggle, I mean full belly laughed.
Jason is absolutely hilarious! I can’t get enough of his dramatics and overall non-stop unbearably ridiculous self. He completely stole the show and my heart. (Don’t worry, I won’t claim him, we’re too much alike and it will never work , plus I’m scare @halle.reads will kick my ass if I try)
Dottie is a badass, take no prisoners business woman with balls of steel. They are the worst/perfect match that it’s impossible not to love and cheer for them.
OMG! The weirdest leading man character I have ever read! And I mean that in a good way! Jason will just wear you out! Snort-out-loud funny. It’s Meghan Quinn and as usual, you won’t be disappointed.
