Want to know a secret? It’s about that girl over there.Don’t look, but she’s the one in the power suit—with the long, black hair and the serious expression, the one I’m about to go on a date with . . .Yeah, according to her, she “accidentally” donated an obscene amount of money to my charity — The Lineup — to win said date but I found out the truth. Miss. Button Up Blouse has a secret, passionate … has a secret, passionate crush on me.
I didn’t know her name until two days ago, despite the friends we have in common.
Was I oblivious? Probably.
Was I blind to it? Definitely.
But I’m no fool, I see it now. The High Heel Harlot wants more than just a date with Jason Orson, she wants to be able to claim the best butt in baseball as hers.
Here’s another secret . . . she has no idea I know.

Romantic Comedy that will melt your heart
Incredible book with pitch perfect dialogue and all the things you need in a sports romance!
Meghan pens the most addictive and engaging love stories, and I simply can’t get enough of them. She pulls me right into her stories with plots that are full of her fantastic sense of humor about these wonderfully endearing characters and their passionate romances. These are not simple, straightforward romantic comedies, though. While they definitely have a romcom vibe, Quinn doesn’t hesitate to run her readers through the wringer with the amount emotion she builds into her stories. They’re so funny and clever, and while I know some sort of emotional roller coaster is coming, the depth of feeling I experience still takes me by surprise when it arrives. She manages to do this to me – takes me by surprise with all these feels – every single time. It’s brilliant, and I love how she does this for me with her storytelling so consistently.
The Lineup was a mashup of some of my favorite tropes. A new adult baseball romance, it was part enemies-to-lovers, part second-chance romance with a splash of secret crush, and it all came together perfectly in this couple’s story. Dottie, a powerhouse in the boardroom is laser-focused on her career and known to be somewhat ruthless professionally, which unsurprisingly sometimes spills over to her personal life. She tends to be a bit guarded and distrustful—but she’s got good reason. While she and Jason were in college at the same time and had the same group of friends, she was nursing a crush on him that kept her in the background. Jason is a unicorn—there’s simply no other way to describe this unique and special man. He was a refreshing blend of sensitive, silly, smart, sweet and selfless—all wrapped up in an irresistibly sexy package. A pro baseball player, he was recently traded and is now back in his hometown of Chicago and reunited with the rest of his college friends.
Jason and Dottie had this natural chemistry, and I loved how Jason’s ridiculousness wore down the buttoned-up, serious Dottie. But there I was, cruising toward their happily ever after, when I started to get a little anxious. Dottie had a secret, and if she didn’t spill, it was going to explode. I knew it was coming—I knew it. I mean, Meghan Quinn dishes out powerful emotions like helpings of potato salad at a backyard barbecue for crying out loud. Even though I was braced for it, I was still utterly gutted with what this couple went through. Thankfully Quinn doesn’t let her readers linger in the misery and mistakes of her characters for too long before she heals characters and readers alike.
The Lineup was a slow-burning, sweet and tender love story chock full of all the feels. All. Of. Them. Meghan Quinn masterfully delivered a story that was both charming yet emotionally devastating. I laughed, swooned, blushed and bawled my way through this book, and I loved every single second of it. Five smooches from me for The Lineup by Meghan Quinn!

4.5 STARS!
Once again Meghan Quinn hits a homerun with the Brentwood boys! The Lineup is Jason Orson’s story. He was first introduced in The Locker Room and played a large part in the shenanigans that take place in The Dugout, which is where I first fell in love with him.
Dorothy “Dottie” Domico was first introduced in The Locker Room as Emory’s best friend. Presently she’s a fierce business woman who has been jipped by love. She guards her heart like a fortress until it becomes impossible not to let Jason in.
Jason Orson is the funny guy you want in your life. The things that come out of this man’s mouth were obscene yet somehow hilariously witty. I couldn’t get enough of him! He has a sensitive side that you can’t help but love and a possessive alpha side in the bedroom that is oh-mama-so-hot
Together, Dottie and Jason are explosive! Their chemistry is undeniable. What began as a relationship where Dottie is being a wench to Jason soon turns into a friendship of sorts. The Lineup is a slowburn romance with lots of enticing moments, so when these two finally do get together it’s so wonderful to see them as a couple.
Overall, I loved this book immensely! However, I found myself already knowing what was going to happen. I also felt the drama was unnecessary but hello sweet, sweet ANGST my dear friend! I’m a sucker for angst, especially when my heart aches and the end result is me balling like a baby. Le sigh.
I have nothing more to say other than I truly love these boys! Completely. This is one my favorite series by Meghan to date. I’m excited to see who she writes next, which to be frank I’m hoping it’s Walker Rockwell because he’s so brooding and intense I need his pain in my life
No author makes me laugh as hard or swoon as hard as Meghan Quinn. Hands down this story had me laughing out loud the most!
This is Jason and Dottie’s story. And what a story it is!
Dottie is a boss lady, kicking butt and taking names in a man’s world! She is fierce, she is independent and because of a shambles of an ex, she has built a wall around her heart that is almost impenetrable.
All hail Jason Orson!! An adorkable man in the streets and an alpha in the sheets!! He is just everything that is good in the world! His humor, his happy, his love for all the good things is amazing! And then “THE Towel”, I mean come on! The booty that is something worth crying over and let’s not forget #BestDamnTatoSaladEver !!
The chemistry and the way that Dottie and Jason’s personalities are so opposite is just phenomenal to read and I can just “see” it in my head. A true testament to the talented storytelling prowess of Ms. Quinn.
You get to see all the past characters rounding out this fabulous story! They don’t take away from the main story, they just add more!
If you haven’t read anything by this author, what are you waiting for! You are gonna fall in love hard with this story!
“He’s kind and sweet, and extremely good-looking. He has a weird sense of humor and makes me smile with the most of the stupid things he says.”
A long time crush. An unexpected link. Some sassy searches on the internet. A donation made by chance. An unwanted and refused date. A folder full of photos that can make any woman salivate. And we are not talking about potato salad, but eggplant.
What to talk about Dottie and Jason? They are so real and so wonderful that it is almost impossible to decide where to start.
Jason is that one hundred percent heart guy. He is more sentimental and cries easier than me. But make no mistake: it does not diminish his charm and masculinity. And what a manhood! The real proof that to be a good mate, a man not need to be rude, misogynistic or stereotyped.
Dottie and Jason are complete opposites. She is seriousness in person and Jason a walking joke. Cute, weird, sometimes clueless but impossible not to love: This is Jason. The contrast of their personalities brings originality to the narrative and keeps the reader totally in love.
How to conclude? I had fun, got emotional, found my name in the book (same name as Jason’s sister), felt the angst and fell in love. I finished the reading with a warm heart and putting the book on my favorites list.
The Lineup is officially my favorite contemporary romance of 2019!
I’m in love with every single one of the characters: Jason and Dottie, Knox and Emory, Carson and Milly, Natalie, EVERY SINGLE ONE! I read this story in one sitting because I was so captivated, the sense of humor is absolutely perfect and I fell in love with Jason as soon as he cracked a joke which was probably immediately.
Jason is the funniest, the sexiest, the most swoony, dirty talker book boyfriend! He is PERFECT! Dottie isn’t exactly what I was expecting, at the very beginning I was on the fence about her because I hated the way she was handling Jason (there was this enemies-to-lovers vibe that provided a ton of comic moments) but I ended up loving her! She’s a very strong, bright heroine that had been hurt badly so she was keeping Jason at arm’s length to protect herself and her heart yet their chemistry is undeniable and completely inevitable. I really loved every second of this story and now I need to binge read the first two books in the Brentwood Baseball world.
The Lineup is the perfect sports romance with a strong heroine, a fantastic swoony hero, a hilarious group of friends, a great storyline with a lot of outstanding comic, steamy moments, a little bit of drama and superb writing.
Highly recommended to anyone who loves sports romance or contemporary romance or any kind of romance.
The Lineup is another 5 + stars winner for Meghan Quinn!
Even though this can be read as a standalone there are more books with these characters. The Locker Room (Knox and Emory’s story) and The Dugout (Carson and Milly’s story) are the first 2 books. We were first introduced to Jason Orson & Dottie Domico in the Locker Room and you will read more about all these characters in The Lineup.
This is Jason and Dottie story. The Lineup is the name for Jason’s charity that his sister runs.
Dottie first saw Jason and had a huge crush on him while they were in college. Now she has a chance at winning a date with him.
Jason is so dorky, cute and nerdy and just plain out charming! I love his character. And, he is over the top & fixated with all things about his manhood. LOL moments. Dottie is shy and conservative.
I love Jason and Dottie’s story it was great to be able to read their story.
This book was the perfect mixture of smart, funny, sweet and sexy! I loved every minute of it. Meghan Quinn has an extremely addicting writing style, her characters are easy to connect with and her comedic approach to romance is irresistible. The banter between Jason and Dottie is absolutely hilarious and I spent most of the book with a huge smile on my face. The banter isn’t the only thing this couple has going for them though, they also have fantastic chemistry.
Jason Orson is a famous baseball player who has recently been traded to a major team in his home state. The trade will also benefit the foundation he has created in honor of his twin brother. Dorothy, “Dottie”, Domico is a strong-willed businesswoman who lives in a very chauvinistic world and doesn’t trust easily. Jason and Dottie were in college together, but never were friends. An accidental donation to Jason’s foundation brings them together.
Jason is such a heartthrob, he is sweet, funny and incredibly sexy. What I liked most about him is his caring and thoughtful nature, he is a genuinely nice guy. Jason and Dottie are opposites. Where Jason wears his emotions on his sleeve, Dottie is guarded and uptight. I loved the transition of their relationship from being awkward to being able to communicate well with each other. Despite some initial reticence, I liked seeing Dottie give up some of her control and just operate on her emotions. Jason can somehow manage Dottie and her closed off, hardened personality. He has a way of putting her at ease, he teases her and pushes her buttons. He helps her see the positive and live in the moment.
This romantic comedy is a quick, entertaining and easy read. It was great to join all the familiar characters from “The Dugout” and “The Locker Room” again.
Jason & Dottie’s book will have you cheering them on, laughing out loud and fanning yourself! Yup, it was perfect! And Meghan Quinn is one of the best sports romance writers there is! Loved The Lineup!
If you like strong heroines, dirty talking athletes that steal your heart then this book is for you. I loved the secondary characters that we’ve met before!
Highly recommend
I freaking love Meghan Quinn and The Lineup is a perfect example as to why! She is a one-click author for me, doesn’t matter what it is. And let me tell you The Lineup does not disappoint at all! She delivers an amazing book!
I LOVE Jason Orson! He is every woman’s dream. He’s sexy as sin, sweet as candy, an amazing cook, and one of the best catchers in the baseball! Everything about Jason I just love! Dottie Domico is the sassy, and boss heroine we all want to be friends with.
Dottie has had a crush on Jason since college, always too afraid to approach him with all the ladies surrounding him. A mistake by her assistant puts her on Jason’s radar. When she blows off the date she won, he seeks her out. A lie on her ends gives her the push to go after Jason.
The Lineup has everything we expect from a Quinn book, laugh out loud moments, hot, steamy scenes, and angst for days. I was surprised at how fast I read this book. I didn’t stop from the time I opened it until I got to the very end.
I love that our favorites are also back in this book. The side characters add just as much as the main characters do to this book! Quinn delivered a phenomenal read! She adds the perfect amount of comedy, angst, and steamy moments to have something for everyone!
The Lineup is a perfect example as to why Meghan Quinn is a one-click author for me! All the stars for Quinn, Jason, and Dottie! I cannot wait to see what she gives us next!

Seriously guys! I’ve read many rom-com books so far but The Lineup is hands down the most amazing, hilarious sexy, slow burning enemies to lovers romance story!
Dottie and Jason gave me the best feels in this refreshing and captivating story. I loved how they tease and playfully provoke each other.
They crawled under each other skin and there was no turning back.
I was reading this book everywhere, in the bus, at work and with every opportunity I’ve had because I couldn’t put it down.
Dottie life was so perfectly arranged. She was independent successful woman. She knew how to handle this, basically, men’s world. She had strength courage, very assertive attitude and sassy mouth but, for known reasons, has no place for love. But when baseball player appears in her world, she was lost and confused if take a chance for love or run as far as she can.
WOW! Jason Orson. Well hello Mr charming! Seriously, I’ve never read about hero with melting heart personality like him so far. Caring, sensitive and emotional guy with cocking skills. From the outside he was giant and masculine, melting pants man with the best butt on the planet. He bought me from the very first chapter with his sense of humor. His every word to Dottie made a smile on my face or little blush on my cheeks. He was like giant walking teddy bear I wanted to hug for the rest of my life.
Those two were like total mess and their relationship got complicated with every page turn in the book. My anticipation and curiosity grew stronger if they’ll finally find the way to meet in the middle.
Meghan Quinn proven once again that she is a queen of bringing to life unforgettable heroes and stories. Her words consumed me completely and I had constantly butterflies in my belly from laughing and heart warming feelings.
If you love slow burning relationship with hilarious bantering and quick ripostes between main characters, you definitely can’t miss this story.
Jason…you sensitive hunk of man, you! I loved this crazy over the top theatrics and needy man who wore his heart on his sleeve. So deeply loyal and dedicated to good causes. And then there’s jaded Dottie. Once burnt and a million times shy. If it were me, I’d have ran far, far in the other direction. But that’s where my sweet Jason takes this story on a hilarious journey to break down her walls. Mix uptight, cranky cat with happy puppy and that’s what this book is all about. I laughed, cried and maybe said a few curses while reading. Definitely an addictive story but I already know I’m a Meghan addict.

I had such a great time reading this book! I laughed and highlighted so many parts. I seriously can’t get over Jason, I just love him to pieces. I think he might be one of my top favorite characters. My eyeballs where flying through the pages because I was loving everything about Jason and Dottie. Man their banter back and forth was awesome. Even Jason’s with the other characters was on point. I don’t know, I’ve enjoyed all her other books but I think this might be my new favorite of hers!
Jason is my favorite of the bunch. The goofy, burly catcher with the heart and soul of gold. An amazing overall guy who should be what future guys are modeled after. And he’s one dirty talking alpha too. That was a very happy surprise. Dottie was also a favorite. A strong, independent woman who knew what she wanted and was not afraid to go after it. But she was also vulnerable with Jason. These two seriously made my heart happy. And I could not stop laughing. Jason and his one liners were hilarious. Stephen Dexter and Maxine Mitchell were absolute perfection. The perfect choices for Jason and Dottie
I was lucky enough to get the ALC of the 3-book audio collection of The Brentwood Boys by Meghan Quinn! The audios included are The Locker Room, The Dugout, and The Lineup. What’s better than a swoony laugh out loud sports romantic comedy? THREE of them!
About The Brentwood Boys:
The Brentwood Boys have come together in a three-book audio collection for the first time ever! More than 30 hours of delicious baseball players brought to you by your favorite narrators including Sebastian York, Savannah Peachwood, Stephen Dexter, Rock Engle, Felicity Monroe, and Maxine Mitchell.
Last but not least was The Lineup, Narrated by: Stephen Dexter and Maxine Mitchell
Jason Orson has won the award for #BoyfriendGoals. Everyone else can go home. Game over. Jason is the man.
Jason is ridiculous in the most fantastic way. I could not get enough of him. Dottie Domico is the perfect fit for him. She’s smart, successful and confident. High strung but with a heart of gold. Jason helps Dottie take the stick out of her butt and loosen up. Hashtag Boss B! Dottie finds in Jason everything she never knew she needed. I loved watching Dottie grow, and watching her and Jason find their HEA. I know I couldn’t actually “see” Jason’s perfect J-Lo butt, but YUM! Dottie is one lucky wench! The witty banter between the friends was epic! Oh, and Meghan, if I don’t get a book about Walker, I will legit scream!

“This is almost too good to be true. I found her. My woman. My future.”
As far as the narration: I feel like Piece of Cake Audiobooks and Meghan Quinn said, “I can’t decide between these 6 amazing narrators, so let’s choose them all!” I swear whenever I see an email from Piece of Cake my heart skips a beat because I know I’m about to listen to the most incredible story from the best narrators ever. Hey Dana, would you like an audiobook in exchange for an honest review? Um, so much yes, please and thank you!
Stephen Dexter and Maxine Mitchell ARE Jason and Dottie! They expertly embodied their characters to give us the most emotionally connected story telling experience. Their tone, pitch, pace, timing, everything was absolute perfection. They brought the story to life and made me swoon and laugh out loud. I highly recommend the audiobook version of this story.

The Lineup is an enemies to lovers sports romance in the Brentwood Boy series told from the first-person dual point-of-view of Jason and Dottie.

Everything started with a mistake. When Dottie’s assistant accidentally donated a large sum of money to Jason’s charity, she wins a date with him that she ends up cancelling. Jason pursues Dottie to get her to go on a date with him but she keeps closing off to him. When she gets into a bind, she claims that she has a boyfriend and uses Jason’s name. When Dottie turns everything around on Jason he is not sure what to do.

The longer I listened to this book the more annoyed I got with both Jason and Dottie. Jason is a baseball player who seems to be more concerned with food than baseball and is a little too dramatic. Dottie had a “I am not good enough” attitude for everything in her life. I just could not connect with either Jason or Dottie. There were some funny parts that I did chuckle at but I just did not enjoy this book the way I thought I would.

Audio … Stephen Dexter and Maxine Mitchell did a good job of narrating the story.
