When my teammates drag me to a club for my 21st birthday, the last thing on my mind is meeting a new guy. I’m not the kind of girl who gets wrapped up in a stranger on a sweaty dance floor.Except, that’s exactly what happens.Only, the guy isn’t a stranger. He’s Jett Decker, the Olympic track star who has the entire campus buzzing with his transfer to our college. He may have given me his number, … have given me his number, but I won’t use it. I refuse to be distracted by silly things like explosive chemistry. I’ve got my own Olympic dreams to chase.
Turns out, whatever ignited on that dance floor can’t be put out by swimming laps.

The story started off pretty good. We get two strong characters that start off strong in Jett and Shay. Jett remains strong throughout . Shay wobbles. A lot of times people are answering for her and taking over. Her twin, her friends, Jett etc. She avoid confrontations. in the beginning, Jett sees Shay he wants her. He makes a strong move. Shay is a hesitant but eventually gives in. They are good together. Instant attraction turns to instant love. The road to HEA has a few pitfalls. Shay has a crazy ex and Jett has secrets. I liked the story more in the beginning. It lost a little fire as it went on. Loved Jett throughout. Shay had me going back and forth. Good story overall.

Shay and her twin sister Kick are Olympic swimmers. Shay is the one that plays by the rules, her twin Kick is the rebellious one. Shay meets Jett, a popular track runner and all bets are off. These two were a good couple. Of course there are problems along the way but things work out. A good sports romance.

Shay and her twin sister Lydia (AKA Kick because she is known for kicking) are swimmers for their college. While at a nightclub Mirage, Shay is dancing and a gorgeous guy comes up to her and they start dancing hot and heavy. He puts his number on a napkin and puts it down her bra telling Shay to call him. Shay has a friends with benefits, Julian who she sees with another girl but later he shows up and wants to get his benefits. But Shay isn’t feeling it so she tells him no. She hedges about calling this other guy but her sister and roommate swoon over him. They tell her who he is – Olympic medalist, Jett. Shay thinks she doesn’t have a chance since why would he want her? Shay’s insecurities and doubts about herself plaque her throughout the book. But as she gets stronger with her swimming, her relationship with Jett grows but she still can’t believe he wants to be with her. When she finds out she has a stalker and then other bits about Jett, that is when the drama really hits the fan. Jett is mixed race but one of his sister’s asks why he is dating Shay who is white. Tensions between Shay and his family play a part in Shay’s insecurities. Will these two be able to work through their issues or will it stand in their way of getting a happy ever after. Jett knows what he wants and it is Shay. Just convincing her of it is what he does most of the book. Gotta love a guy who will go to bat for you! I enjoyed this book and am hoping Kick will get her book as she has several mysteries surrounding her.

Shay is a swimmer and just missed out on qualifying for the Olympics. She’s got a twin sister and is generally the shyer, less adventurous twin.
Jett saw Shay and made his move on the dance floor. He’s got a jones for her.
College, swimming and hook ups.

First book in the Spark sisters series. I loved it. I recommend it.
I loved Shay. She has doubts, she is insecure, about her relationship with Julian, her relationship with Jett, her relationship with Kick, about her future.
Shay swims since she was little, devoting all the time she can to it, as to her studies. But even though she loves swimming and wants to do it professionally, she can’t do it, because she’s afraid to disappoint her mother. She finds it hard to find the strength in herself to make her dreams come true. She may not make it, but she will try. She no longer cares about letting her mother down. She knows what she wants to do, that’s what counts, and she has more support, not only for Jett, but also for Kick and her father.
I loved her relationship with Kick, and also with Bea. She doesn’t leave them out when she’s with Jett. The four of them spend time together, also with his friends.
I loved Jett. He’s very clear about what he wants, Shay. He has no doubts about their relationship. He feels comfortable with her, he wants her to be a part of his life from the very first moment, to be with the people he loves.
I loved how loyal his family is, how they want to take care of him, just like Tabby. And I loved that Shay also has that support.
I didn’t like the two of them hiding things from each other. They didn’t want to hurt the other, but not saying anything didn’t stop them from doing it.
I received an ARC from the author, and this is my honest review.
I read this book and was pleasantly surprised. I’m not into swimming so this was educational for me as well. As I was reading, thinking about the sisters, they were in competition with each other. There is this unspoken competition between them that comes to light. The rule that you have to do things together; not always. They got through it together when they needed to. There were other dilemmas in this book where twinsense was on point and needed. Overall, wonderful read. Now I’m going to read Kick’s story

I really enjoyed this story! It was so easy to read! Once I started reading it, I didn’t want to put it down. The characters were engaging and entertaining. I loved getting to know Shay and Jett. Jett knew exactly what he wanted and I absolutely loved how direct he was with Shay. He went after what he wanted and made it known that he wanted to be with her and only her. And that he doesn’t share. I absolutely loved it! Shay did too. With that being said, there are still plenty of twists in this story. It keeps your attention the entire time and keeps you turning pages to find out what is going to happen next. Shay is struggling with believing that what she has with Jett is real and with what she is going to do after college. She is a fantastic swimmer but her mom wants her to go into finance instead of pursuing a professional swimming career, which is what she desperately wants to do. I loved how they worked things out together. I also loved the way that the black/white relationship was handled as well. It shouldn’t matter and I loved that that’s how they treated it. It was never an issue for them, though there were a few people that had one at first. This story flowed very well. The sex is fairly explicit and details are shared. It fits the story and the characters and I enjoyed it being blended in to the story. I absolutely adored the other characters close to these two characters and am very happy that Shay’s sister is getting her own book, Kick. Super excited to read it! I’d love to read more in this world with these characters as well.
