This #1 bestselling legal thriller from Michael Connelly is a stunning display of novelistic mastery – as human, as gripping, and as whiplash-surprising as any novel yet from the writer Publishers Weekly has called “today’s Dostoevsky of crime literature.” Mickey Haller is a Lincoln Lawyer, a criminal defense attorney who operates out of the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car, traveling between the … traveling between the far-flung courthouses of Los Angeles to defend clients of every kind. Bikers, con artists, drunk drivers, drug dealers – they’re all on Mickey Haller’s client list. For him, the law is rarely about guilt or innocence, it’s about negotiation and manipulation. Sometimes it’s even about justice.
A Beverly Hills playboy arrested for attacking a woman he picked up in a bar chooses Haller to defend him, and Mickey has his first high-paying client in years. It is a defense attorney’s dream, what they call a franchise case. And as the evidence stacks up, Haller comes to believe this may be the easiest case of his career. Then someone close to him is murdered and Haller discovers that his search for innocence has brought him face-to-face with evil as pure as a flame. To escape without being burned, he must deploy every tactic, feint, and instinct in his arsenal – this time to save his own life.

I loved the book. Have seen the movie twice. My favorite kind of read.
I loved this book. I was really glad to see the movie, it was close. The book was better, more often than not, it usually is.
I don’t know who does Mr Conleys tv work but they follow books better than any other author today. Good going Mr Conley!
Love all his books
A great story that will have you turning pages faster and faster. Mickey Haller is a wonderfully flawed man who really does look out for others. When he’s stuck in a moral dilemma, his only hope is to beat the others at their own game. WOW!
Good one!
Way too better than the movie. Michael Connolly knows how to keep the reader glued to the pages. Micky seems arrogant, confident at the start, but he cracks. he gets a good case, good description of the court, the layers’ questions and the way they act. Worth to read.
I’ve loved Michael Connelly’s Bosch series but hadn’t really tried the Lincoln Lawyer part of his universe. Written in first person, it’s a great view into the mind of a lawyer. Love the nods in the second one to University of Florida, both Mr. Connelly and my alma mater. The first time I started to read Lincoln Lawyer I just didn’t like the MC, …
Good book to read
I picked up this book because I thought it was about Lincoln as a lawyer. Happy mistake! It was the first Michael Connolly book I had ever read, and it got me hooked. His plotting is always ingenious, and his dialogue is pointed and crisp. The Lincoln Lawyer series tends to have more humor than the Harry Bosch series (I like them both).
This book was a real page-turner that leaves you wondering what will happen next!!
Absolutely awesome. Step by step courtroom drama. Extreme interesting with surprises and a great ending! Would love to see more just like this!
One of this authors best
One of the first books that I read. I won’t watch the movie, I feel it won’t be as good as the book.
Michael Connolly knows how to write stories that pull the reader in….you read the book, look up, and realize the story he made you a part of is over!
Great
Michael Connelly books hold my attention and can’t wait to find out the ending.
Awesome
Love Connelly and this character in particular. Good story but love his details about Micky
You can’t go wrong with Connelly!
Brilliant
