No matter how dark the night, hope is reborn at dawn. It wasn’t just her marriage that crumbled in the wake of unspeakable tragedy, it was her entire life. Even though five years had passed since she lost Evan, Angelia White was still picking up the pieces. Getting involved in a cause she could pour her broken heart into was just another part of the healing process. The wounds were too fresh for … process.
The wounds were too fresh for Mark Lyon to keep his grip on reality. Everything he thought he knew and believed was obliterated when he lost Ashleigh, along with his heart. The only way he could pick up the pieces was to fight for a way to prevent any other parent from ever suffering such merciless pain.
Two heartbroken parents enduring the darkest of nights.
Two wounded souls waiting for the light at dawn.

Book Review: The Light at Dawn
Author: KL Montgomery
FIVE STARS
There should be a rating higher than five. This book is amazing and heartwrenching. Ms. Montgomery had me in tears in the first chapter and kept them coming throughout the entire book.
The debate on gun laws is a heated topic and I believe in my mind that she broached and wrote about the subject to where no one side was favored over the other. Everyone has an opinion and it is no ones place to judge how anyone else feels about certain topics.
With so much going on in the country in this day and age and the gun violence being such a hotbed of debate, this book is right on target.
Reading this book will definatly set off triggers if you have any kind of history with gun violence so readers beware.
Other than the gun violence that is present in many instances in this book, there is one heck of a love story here.
Angelia and Mark are two people from different parts of the country who each have their own reasons for supporting their opposing causes. They choose to overlook these causes for one evening and try to get to know one another. Things were said that caused an abrupt end to their evening, yet they both couldn’t stop thinking about the other.
Events being what they were through this whole book, there is one line that stands out to me most of all and it is a line that I have shared with friends who have lost siblings like I have….. “it doesn’t get better, but you get better at dealing with the pain.” I have not lost anyone to gun violence but I did lose a sibling to illness and this line is my mantra when I am faced with a friend who is suffering.
Thank you KL Montgomery for writing this. Yes it is a touchy subject, and I hate to say it but you may receive some negative feedback for this book, but OH MY what an wonderfully written book about loss and overcoming, and NOT forgetting to honor those lost to tragedy.
