Anna has escaped from Devin. Now she must learn what it is to live without a Master. Yet Devin will not let her go so easily; his power depends on what he takes from her.
Will Anna’s freedom last? Can she even learn to live as a free woman? Is Devin’s power too great for her to escape?
There is a subculture within our own world that you’ve only heard whispers of. The conspiracy theorists wish … conspiracy theorists wish they knew Anna’s story. What the conspiracy theorists think they know is only disinformation, put out there to keep them from the real story.
NOTE
This is not a stand-alone novel. This is the final of five novels that tell Anna’s story.
WARNING
This book is for grownups. This book is not for people who are easily offended, get nightmares easily, or have difficulty reading books about tough subjects. I do not glorify bad things, but bad things do happen to my poor characters. This is not your typical love story. My heroine does not fall in love and live happily ever after… at least not like the typical heroine. There is a happily ever after, but it is a long, painful journey to that end.
This book will likely offend you. This book might make you cry; it might make you throw up. It is a dark book. As my friend, Heidi, said, “It’s dark. It gets darker. It gets even darker, and then it gets even more darker. And then, just when you think it can’t get any darker, it does.”
But, don’t worry. I take you to the deep end gradually. 😉
There are many sexual situations in this series of books. People die. People get hurt. Things aren’t always truly the way they appear. The antagonist isn’t just a bad guy; he’s EVIL. My heroine’s worldview is skewed; things that may appall you are perfectly normal to her.
Any violence in this book is non-gratuitous and crucial to the plot and character development.
Do not read this if you are under the age of consent in your country. Do not get angry if the subject or actual book upsets you. If you’re reading this, you’ve been warned.

Ok WOW! This book and this series was IMMENSE. My head is pounding from the lack of sleep I’ve had whilst reading this book. From page one of book one I was captivated, enthralled, submerged into the Life Of Anna. I cannot praise this series highly enough… It is like nothing I have ever read before. The author has thrown every genre at this book. It’s beyond dark. This series has shot straight to my number one on my list of books that have had a profound affect on me. It was that good that as soon as I was finished I immediately wanted to do a re-read. That has only ever happened with one other series. The imagination of this author is beyond any words I can think of.
The emotive writing ranges from one end of the spectrum to the other. From feeling really sad and helpless, to elation, to anger and rage , to injustice at the life Anna has endured at the hands of her guardian. There are so many characters in this series and the authors has developed each and every one of those characters, she has encompassed tone and feeling and each character comes alive even down to creating a voice be it Russian, German, British. This book has all the feels and has left me in a pretty heavy book funk.
Devin has got to be the worst book villain I have ever encountered and you just hope that as the story progresses he will get what’s coming to him and then some. The man is a seriously deranged psychopath devoid of any human emotion whatsoever.
I don’t think I will ever find another book like this.
What a great ending to an amazingly fucked up series! God I don’t even know how to describe what I’m feeling right now. Whenever I read something highly emotional I have to read a dark book after to get over it but what do you do when that emotional book is the darkest book you’ve ever read?!?! I’m going to have the worst book hangover I’ve ever been in!! I loved this series so much! Yes it was so sick and twisted and some parts made me want to throw up but Marissa is such an amazing writer and she gave us doses of really good pure love throughout the continuous tragedy that was Anna’s life. When I first read this series I went in blind without really knowing what to expect. It’s when I was first starting out in the romance genre and Marissa brought me to the dark side and I’ve been hooked ever since. She is truly a Goddess at story telling and I can’t wait to see what her deviant mind comes up with next!!
BE SURE TO READ THE AUTHOR NOTE AND WARNING!!! THIS BOOK IS NOT, I REPEAT, NOT FOR EVERYONE!!!
Finally, the end of this journey into Hell. After going through so much heartache and pain that is Anna’s life, the author gives us what we have been wanting, an end to the evil!…at least for a bit.
This installment is a little tamer than its predecessors. But after crying, screaming, and losing sleep during the others, I really enjoyed the break! Anna grows into her powers, and becomes more powerful than anyone could ever have predicted! I was cheering her on!!
This author has amazed me in that she could take such disturbing subject matter and write it in a way that it begins to consume the reader. I’m torn between pimping it out, to warning people away!
I’m not going to spoil the story in regards to if Anna gets her HEA… The author hints to it, and I’m leaving it at that.
If you are a fan of dark erotica, you need to read The Life of Anna.
5 Amazing stars if I could give it more I would Loved this series so much!
What can I say I was lucky enough to read an ARC of the book and Marissa has done it a perfect ending to such a great series?
Marissa Has taken us on an Emotional roller-coaster of a ride with Anna story. A journey that will stay with me a very very long time. I have laughed, cried, Bitched, got very angry at parts. I honestly can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next.
