We were never supposed to be. Life threw a curveball at me, wrecking everything in it’s wake. I had it all, and in a single moment it was ripped away from me. I lost everything. I lost myself. Picking up the broken pieces of my life hasn’t been easy. Starting over is the hardest part. I didn’t ask for this life, but I’m going to make the most of it for them.
This book is one heck of a sad tale that I wish wasn’t possible. The hurt, pain and love the mc goes through reaches in and pulls your heart out squeezing it to keep it beating. Dang good sad tale.
This is my first book by this author and definitely won’t be my last. Tobin had it all until it was all ripped away from her. Now she is struggling to move on and what to do with her life. My heart absolutely broke for Tobin and all she endured. Then she meets Kiefer and he helps her overcome her pain and grief. I really loved Tobin and Kiefer together and how Kiefer helped Tobin. A truly emotional read and one I definitely recommend.
This was an good read that deals with overcoming unexpected losses and learning how to recover. Tobin’s journey has many ups and downs, not an easy one to overcome from. You connect with Tobin in how she deals with all the guilt and anger she has. When she meets Kiefer they’re both not in a good place and get off on a bad foot. Through the book you see how they both grow closer and help each other deal with grief. I absolutely love the support Tobin has from her family and friends, probably my favorite thing from this book. I felt that the story was a bit fast paced and if it have been more drawn out a little more then it would have better. I did not get the emotional involvement I had expected and wanted. There’s not doubt this is a good book but for me it did not completely give me all the feels. Overall I very much enjoyed it and look forward to more from this author
Part of me feels sorry for saying I enjoyed this book considering where the story starts and some of the subject matter, but I did. I like the way it was handled and I enjoyed watching as she dealt with what was around her both in terms of her feelings and those of others.
What an emotional story, my heart broke for her.
This book makes you feel every emotions,
…and seeing her coming back to life, so real!
Emotional rollercoaster, if you lost the spouse for whatever reason be aware that you will read this book with broken heart.
It is a story about overcoming loss ,love and learning to live. Second chance in life after tragedy doesn’t happen easy.
It was fast paced ,engaging book. Some parts I did wish had more depth, make more sense.
The story has a great ending and I definitely love it and recommend.

I cannot imagine going through the tragedies in this book. Kira Adams has written a book so engrossing you won’t want to put it down. Read about Tobin’s loss and finding herself.

Kira Adams is a new author for me. Get the tissues ready. It is a powerful and at times fickle. You will go through the journey with this character and author as she navigates even the most mundane issues of life and living. It will press you and then stretch you. You will not walk away from this unhindered. The emotions that Kira has engaged us with make me feel as if something has attributed to this story in real life. She has beautifully written a wonderful and engaging story that could be anyone. It is strong yet complete in a way that will have the reader looking for more. I hope to see more from this author especially if she continues to write any book like this one. The flow of the story was a bit jagged but nothing that the reader can not overcome. It is emotional and fierce. So gather your wits it will be a journey that you will not come out on the other side the same. I could relate with this character. This book will and is one of the most powerful books I have read this year.

I enjoyed this story, the plot was written well, the characters were strong. The story was filled with many emotions, the characters’s journey wasn’t an easy one. they had many ups and downs but they were good together.
Tobin was living her perfect life with the man she deemed her best friend and husband. They had a beautiful daughter and everything was goin according to plan until an unfortunate accident took it all away. Tobin was the sole survivor and is having a hard time navigating life. Keifer was an unexpected element. They bumped heads but his demeanor rubbed off on her and as time passed Tobin’s outlook on life changed. Will Kiefer be the change agent that transforms Tobin’s life taking her into the next phase of her life? This touching story will have your emotions all over the place.

Tobin’s story in heart-wrenchingly sad. When Keifer comes in to her life, she starts to see the sun again, slow but sure. I was drawn in and could not put this book down until it was done.
Oh, my poor heart! I spent half of this book in tears. Ugly crying for this poor character’s unfortunate family tragedy. It was awful, heart breaking. Then the other half I watched as she came alive again slowly, with help from a man who would ultimately become her new life interest. The feelings that came with that, The conflict, the happiness, the guilt, the beautiful and the ugly were all laid bare.
My only issue would be the handling of the woman who caused the deaths with her actions with her car. Even in the trial it was obvious the woman was mentally suffering for her to do what she did, and I think she would have been better off locked up in a high security mental facility where she could be getting help and ensure she doesn’t try to kill herself or anyone else again. She is definitely a danger to herself and others. Jail won’t change that.
Mental health was briefly touched on for one sentence when it said Tobin would do talk shows, but that was it. I just believe it was not quite right.
But other than that I thought things were beautifully handled and written and loved it. #netgalley #Thelifeineveraskedfor
