THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT SENT HIM… never make the news.
For the next step in its expansionist agenda, the Kremlin devises a covert coup far more devastating than Bin Laden’s most dangerous dream. With the American economy in his crosshairs, Russian President Vladimir Korovin picks suitable pawns and pulls sizable levers, initiating the boldest gambit the world has ever seen.
Halfway around the world, the White House develops a plan for derailing Russian aggression. A way-off-the-books, high-risk, high-reward plan. American President William Silver identifies the perfect person for his impossible mission: former CIA operative Kyle Achilles.
With their plans in place and their spies undercover, each president is confident that he has outplayed the other — until everything goes wrong.
The Lies Of Spies will keep you guessing from first page to last with the suspenseful twists and unpredictable turns readers expect from Tim Tigner. Don’t pick it up at night if you plan to work in the morning.

Fast paced spy thriller that you won’t be able to put down. Full of surprises!
This review is for the audio book.
Wow, I really loved this book. I read the book a couple of hears ago and at the time I assess it to my audio book wish list and forgot about. Then I wanted a fun book to listen to and downloaded this as I remembered I enjoyed it . Boy was I right and why oh why did it take me so long to get? I really like the characters and the situations they find themselves in. This is book two and carries on from Book one, you don’t need to have read or listened to book one as the author does touch on what happened but I would highly recommend you do, as that is a great book too. There is so much action that it keeps you hooked from the start. The story is told from multiple characters but it is easy to follow along.
What happens when the presidents of two super power countries decided the other has to go? They send there best agents the ones that they can deny sending. But what happens when those presidents know they are coming? A cat and mouse game where nothing is really but all could be your last step. Retired CIA agent Kyle Achiles is one of the agents sent because after the Russian President had his family killed he has a big score to settle. This time going it alone with just help from Katya (his dead brothers finance) is not going to be enough and the pair join up with an unlikely pair to stop a diabolical plan that could change the world as we know it.
I like the narrator and he is up there in my top ten of favourite narrators because he makes all his stories interesting with the voices he uses for the characters.
Great continuance of the characters and story from “Pushing Brilliance” with some new additions. This action packed spy thriller keeps you on high alert as you read a story that seems eerily close or as realistic as the headlines in the newspapers these days. This second in the series finds the hero Kyla Achilles tackling a special mission by the US President against Russia that takes a lot of twists and turns you would not expect. A high paced spy thriller that is definitely worth the read!!
This book delivers nonstop action, plot twists galore and terrific characters. I couldn’t put it down. Ian Fleming would be proud, James Bond would be a great match with Achilles.
Each of the main characters are so well developed you feel as though you’ve known them forever and can’t stop rooting for them.
You are in for a big treat with this new and up and coming author. “Lies of Spies” is my 3rd Tim Tigner book, and I have enjoyed every one of them. It is the second in Tigner’s series based on spy Kyle Achilles, an ex-Olympic athlete and US Agent. “Lies of Spies” is a book that can stand alone; however, it makes more sense to read the first Kyle Achilles book, “Pushing Brilliance,” to gain a better understanding of the protagonist and some other key characters.
I LOVED this book. I love this author. I couldn’t put it down. I have read two of his books so far (Pushing Brilliance) and this one. I can’t wait to read more. I couldn’t wait for the end, but I didn’t want the book to end!!! HIGHLY recommended.
I have downloaded 2 more of his books(haven’t read them yet) on the basis of this book they should be good as this one was.
If you liked the Mission Impossible series, then you will love this book.
Took me a while; but, I finally got the thing read. Have the next one – not sure I’ll read it!
Outstanding — one of his best and they’re all good !
Liked this book a lot. I have read more from the author since I read this one and have been very pleased. A very good writer. This book was among his best.
Tigner is a master storyteller who never runs out of intriguing storylines and develops plots to keep you on the edge of your seat. I have truly enjoyed everything I have read by him. More more!
A very good read and hero can get out of anything….almost.
I rated this 7 stars on Amazon. Loved everything about this book. Timely Spy thriller. Characters, plot and premise totally believable. Most endearing to me is the short chapters. Ideal for people like me who can’t dedicate a specific amount of time to read, sometimes as little as five to ten minutes.
