From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes a Horribly Sunny Mystery, The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant.NOBODY MESSES WITH HIS LIBRARIAN. . .Who killed Michael Vanderhorst’s maker? It’s a darn good question. But when the trail brings Michael to hellishly sunny Phoenix, Arizona, his biggest problem soon becomes a cute little librarian he can’t seem to stay away from. He’s never met a … to stay away from. He’s never met a bigger danger magnet! Even her book cart has it out for her. And is that the drug cartel following her around, too? “Dear God, woman! What have you gotten yourself into?”
Things go from bad to worse when local vampires won’t play nice.
Can this four-hundred-year-old vampire keep his librarian safe and himself out of hot water? Can he bring his maker’s killer to justice? Yesterday, he would’ve said yes. But yesterday, he didn’t have a strange connection with a librarian. Yesterday, people weren’t trying to kill her.

I love vampire books and I especially love books that make me laugh. Mimi Jean Pamfiloff delivers on both of these in The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant.
Enjoyed this book tremendously. Very unique storyline. Great characters! Liked this one so much, bought the rest in the series. Highly recommend.
VERY good book!!! Couldn’t WAIT to read the next one but it’s not on KU.
We are introduced to Michael and find he is visiting Phoenix to pick up his friend, and maker’s, ashes. Right away, we are given a mystery: who killed him? Why was he murdered? There are many questions running through Michael’s mind, and since he is a vampire, he always loves a good mystery. It keeps life interesting.
Then he meets the librarian. She is like a damsel in distress and keeps falling into those weird situations. Poor poor Miriam. Michael has to figure out how all of it is connected, and to kill the people who killed his friend. Luckily he calls in his friend, Lulu, who is my favorite character, to help him figure this out.
The book ends on a cliffhanger, but it wraps up what is going on nicely, but you have to read more…
love the book
I will never think of a blue skittle the same again, lol. The humor in this had me laughing out loud. I love Michael! I can’t wait for the next book.
This was a decent and fast read. It was written from the perspective of the male MC, a four-hundred year old vampire. The dialog was a bit stilted. It was an unusual and imaginative setting for a vampire story with mystery and action. Others may really enjoy this but I just didn’t get invested in the characters so probably won’t go on to the next book in the series. Also, the author managed to work her name into the novel and I always wonder why on the rare occasions that I encounter this.
I really liked this book!
Just the humor, intrigue & possibly romance!
Getting ready to read book 2!
I loved the concept introduced in this series. Great character and plot twist!
3-3.5
Mini is an excellent writer. I’m not usually one to like vampire or paranormal books but I have really enjoyed her works. You never know the direction the story is going to go. Continues in next book but not interested enough to read more.
This book was original and a lot of fun to read!
I know this one was a bit corny at times, but I really liked it. It was ridiculous is the most chuckle worthy ways and had mystery and drama. A bit of self realization, romance and strong characters. It was well written and I could just imagine the varying nuances of each character. Especially the hilarity and creepiness of My. Nice. The only character that was a bit lacking was the Librarian Miriam, but she may be more developed in the second book, that I will eventually read.
Do yourself a favor and buy this book! Mimi Jean has a way of breathing new life into the undead, and mixes love with laughter, to create the most interesting….and sometimes crazy characters! Oh yeah, and this first book is available for free…..and who doesn’t like free books?
This author is awesome. I’ve read another series of hers, and hated when it was done. Couldn’t have this one done either, so had to buy the next one. Says all you need to know if you enjoy the genre.
Somehow, I became hooked on the series. It was funny & suspenseful. Waiting on book 5.
This was a little different twist for Vampire loving readers. It’s a sequel so don’t read it unless you are prepared to purchase the 2nd book.
While this book is number one in a series, it can be treated as a stand-alone. Interesting characters and unsuspected twists and turns in the plot. I could not wait to read the next installment of the series to follow the characters and see if and how they are developing.
Interesting new portrayal of Vampires. Enjoyed very much and would recommend to anyone who likes a slightly different slant.
Loved it
I would describe this book as “cute”. Fast read to help satisfy your late night indulgence.
