From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes a snarky Mystery with a side dish of Romance and two sprinkles of chaos, THE LIBRARIAN’S VAMPIRE ASSISTANT, Book Four. (Yep! Every new adventure in this thrilling series just makes me fall even harder for this Hero and all the supporting cast. Loved this latest emotional yet so funny I almost peed my pants journey filled with engaging and intriguing charters, unforgettable dialog and heart racing twists. Loved it!
When I started reading I couldn’t put it down.Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can’t wait for the next book.
You can read this book as a stand alone. The characters are all explained. I have read the previous books 1-3 of the Librarian’s Assistant and know the characters and what is going on.
Michael is our Vampire Assistant, and nothing seems to go right for Michael. Michael is missing his Librarian. Lulu is missing her best friend. Mr. Nice is still missing his sanity. This story continues with its witty humor, mystery, and the amazing thrills and devious plot twists.
Mr. Nice as we all know isn’t Nice at all. After some hunting Lulu finds our librarian, Miriam. Michael is convinced the Mr. Nice wiped her memory clean and that she’s brain washed.
Inside the book in the chapters, are references to Twilight, and to Mimi’s life and her fan group are made. The inside jokes make me lol and it just shows how much she really does appreciate and enjoy mingling with her fans.
I did receive a free ARC Copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.
So here we are back in the insanity of Mimi’s brain and I honestly don’t know how to begin to review this book. Ok it’s the fourth instalment and as it begins Michael is on the hunt for his own personal librarian who was whisked away by Nice who is a Vampire who seriously needs therapy. Michael hasn’t the time or the inclination to carry on as the Vampire King but the Vampires are restless so someone has to lead but can Michael find a suitable replacement ? Hmm my lips and sealed but expect the Royal Guard to get a rather chilly new uniform ! Although that’s the last thing to worry about because Michael gets a tip that leads him to his librarian but is it possible she actually wants to be with Nice ?
This is a crazy story that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat with madness, mayhem and egos that simply beggar belief. I had no idea what direction it would go but boy is the ending a huge surprise. This series isn’t over and the ever uber confident, arrogant yet strangely young Michael is about to get a very rude awakening because mild spoiler everyone there’s a new Vampire in town who could slay all the competition !
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
In this book, the plot thicken and the humor is rampant. Michael Vanderhorst and his librarian are back and better than ever. I’m ready to read more about this series.
Poor Michael. Can anything go right for the Vampire King? From kidnappings to betrayals to nicknames, he just can’t catch a break. So what’s Mikeypoo gonna do? Convince his librarian that they were meant to be together of course. But it doesn’t go as planned? Why? So many mysteries!
Pamfiloff has filled this book with twists and turns, humor and a whole lot of “What!!!??? She didn’t!” The Easter eggs go flying left and right as if Pamfiloff just can’t help herself. There’s references to Twilight, Nancy Drew, Norman Bates, the movie Stayin Alive and Cosmo. And those references are very Funny. All the characters you love are back too, as well as leather pants and a certain popular vampire book series.
I always learn a new phrase from Pamfiloff ‘s books and this one is no exception. “Globe wallowing.” I’m going to take the liberty to create my own urban dictionary definition: To travel across the globe, country to country, attempting to distance yourself from sadness regarding missing librarians. Or: To wallow in the pits of despair while traveling to forget a librarian.
The dialogue is silly and fantastic. A taste:
“Our anniversary is the day after tomorrow.”I
“Hold on. But you were married around August, yes? It’s December.”
“He goes by the Aztec calendar.”
“Well, as I live and breathe! Is this the Vanderhorst?” a spunky, young voice greets me. “The assassin extraordinaire? The one and only true king besides Elvis? Voted hottest dead man alive?”
“Politics today are very confusing.”
“Not at all. All you have to do is pick a topic, any topic, and get outraged. You don’t even have to understand the facts.” Her eyes go wide with delight. “Then you just post mean &%$ on Twitter.” She slides behind the steering wheel and shuts her door.
So much happens in this installment of the series, but even with all the craziness, it all works. And I never saw any of it coming. Me, a reader of 300 Books a year. It’s a yummy story that keeps the Vampire King Michael interesting and evolving even after 4 books.
I couldn’t wait to get started on the forth instalment of this exciting series, and I wasn’t disappointed.
From the first page until the last I was immensely impressed and intrigued with the intricate web the plot has developed into. It’s an addictive story, very cleverly written which leaves the reader gasping and yearning for more.
Can be read as a stand alone, but to fully appreciate and follow the story, better I think if read with the previous books.
I highly recommend this novel!
Amazing book !!!!!!! Never a dull moment in this book, so many twists that keep you on your toes and guessing. Had me laughing and screaming at the book all the way through.
Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is one of a small handful of authors who consistently makes me laugh at the humor they inject into their stories. The one-liners she gives Lula and Michael are the stuff stand up comedy routines are made of.
Michael’s librarian is still missing, he has trouble brewing from the council back in Cincinnati, Mr. Nice has resurfaced and he’s causing trouble (so what else is new?) Nothing seems to be going right for the Vampire King. There are a lot of plot twists and turns, a few “darn I didn’t see that one coming” and some “aha, I knew it” moments in book four which make it so much fun and so entertaining to read.
Never a dull moment for the Librarian and her vampire assistant!!!
I swear I stopped breathing a few times! You might think you know what’s going to happen but you will be surprised time and again. Just sit back and go along for the ride.
I’m excited for the next chapter!! 5 stars!!
I felt like I was reading the vampire version of criminal minds. I was on the edge of my seat reading this one. Ready for the next book!
Another brilliant installment about Michael and his librarian.
This time Nice has taken off with Miriam and Michael will do anything to get her back.
This would have to be my favourite one so far.
Putting us through all our emotions but maintaining its entertaining witt at the same time.
The cast of characters intertwine with them working together but also against each other which in turn sets up our amazing story lines.
This one had a few twists that only add to the addictive story of Michael and Miriam.
Looking forward to the next book to see where our adventure/mystery takes us.
Was given an arc for an honest review
While this is technically a standalone, I highly recommend reading the prior books before diving in. Click here to refresh Queen B’s thoughts on book #3!
LVA4 was a whirlwind. As soon as I thought I knew what was going on, something happened and changed my entire perspective.
Michael has had a rough time. At the end of book #3, his librarian was stolen by a lace loving vampire. Book #4 is more of the same full of ridiculous antics, literary puns, and so many twists and turns that I hadn’t seen coming.
I want so much to discuss this with someone. SO MUCH TO TELL! Alas I can’t, as I don’t want to spoil anything.
Book #5 can’t come fast enough.
Here we go again. Things that turn on Micheal on are the love of his life, books and avoiding adulting. Things that turn him off, not having the love of his life by his side, keeping all the vampires in check and adulting. This is a tale that keeps the reader on edge. It’s funny, scary and sad. Nothing is as it seems and Nice is downright creepy. Mimi Jean never fails in her endeavors to keep the reader saying “Pierce me with Forks. I’m done.” Only to continue in the next breath, “More, please.”
Loved reading the mesmerizing and engaging paranormal story. When Michael’s endless search for his librarian, Miriam, has no results, Lulu finds a clue to Miriam’s whereabouts. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written story, and riveting the reader from the beginning of the story until the end of the story full of anticipation for the next book in the series.
Another fangtastic installment to this hilarious series. So much snark, so many twists that keep you on your toes and guessing, this book is a laugh-a-minute paranormal romance that will “suck” you in and keep you turning the pages until you reach the end. Another highly recommended read by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff.
This was such an amazing series. I loved all the antics that had me laughing and screaming at the book that was so beautifully written. I read, ate (really fast) and continued reading this book until I finished it. It was that good. Loved all the characters especially Michael the sexy, fearless vampire.
The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant, Part 4 is marketed as a stand-alone cozy mystery but I wouldn’t skip the previous 3 for anything. For those familiar with the author’s work, you are only denying yourself the witty quips, the clever plot twists, and the devious nature of Pamfiloff’s mind and those “Damn it, Mimi!” moments we all love so much. For those who are new to the author, you can pick up this installment and catch up to the story line with no confusion but you will be missing out on some really great parts of the story that involve laughter, mystery, and WTF moments that really get our reader hearts pumping.
Michael Vanderhorst is missing his Librarian. Lulu is missing her best friend. Mr. Nice is still missing his sanity. The story continues with its witty humor, mystery, and the amazing thrills of Mimi’s evil, evil, devious plot twists. As someone who has read the previous three installments, I loved shouting out “I knew it!” at that sweet spot. As someone who knows to brace herself for those more shocking plot twists, I still fired off a series of texts to my fellow booktart & sweetheart – swearing up a storm and threatening violence to my device. I can’t tell you exactly what I put in that text but my own version Mr. Nice wanted to come out and play. Her exact response was, “Well it is not a good one without that reaction”. She is right though. The best books always elicit at least one moment that leaves you swearing at the story, the author, and anyone who tries to get near you before you finish the book. This book does exactly that and right when you are ready to forgive the author and characters for their evil ways – there is one more twist and the promise of even more to come.
My favorite vampire, Michael Vanderhorst, is back and on the quest to find his Librarian! This delightful book with its quirky cast of characters was a very entertaining, quick read for me. I adored Michael and his hilarious inner musings and I found myself chuckling at the ever eccentric Mr. Nice. The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant Bk 4 lived up to all of my expectations. If you have read any of this author’s other works or follow her on social media, then you will enjoy the fun little inside jokes. New to this author or series? No worries because you will fall in love with this author’s writing, stories, and characters. If you enjoy a good cozy mystery with a comedic flare and dash of romance, then you will not want to miss out on this book!
Another incredible read in this steadily growing series! The mysteries have you craving more knowledge than ever before in this fourth installment! The moment I picked this book up, I couldn’t put it down. The intricate webs the author weaves throughout all of these books truly leaves the reader wanting to know what happens with each turn of the page.
In order to truly understand and appreciate this book, you should definitely read the ones before.
I highly recommend this series and this author.
