From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes a snarky Mystery with a side dish of Romance and two sprinkles of chaos, THE LIBRARIAN’S VAMPIRE ASSISTANT, Book Four. (Yep! These books are STANDALONES. But the more you read, the merrier!)SHE’S MINE. BUT HAS SHE FORGOTTEN?A crazy vampire has stolen my librarian. And if that’s not bad enough, it is my fault. Because I, too, am an ancient, … it is my fault. Because I, too, am an ancient, deadly vampire, and it was my job to protect her. I failed.
Now, just as I have reason to hope I will get her back, the situation turns into the biggest mystery of my existence.
Apparently, this evil vampire has brainwashed her into thinking she belongs with him. I do not know how. I do not know why. But I will get to the bottom of this and win her back.
Because I am the motherf*!$%ing librarian’s vampire assistant, and she belongs to me. Or, at least she used to?

Ok book but a lot of repeated stories into the next book.
Will everyone get their HEA!!??
In answer to my question. . . .
That’s a big fat NO!!!
Bloody Hell Miss Mimi what are you doing to us, your faithful followers!?
I’m not sure if I can trust you from here on out! you damn near kilt me with this one!
I laughed out loud, I gasped, I cried out, “what?” (on more than one occasion!) , and I fell for Michael even more! Not bad for someone who didn’t really like him that much in book one.
Thank you for the ARC copy, keep them coming! I feel very privileged to have been able to read this full series as ARC’s so my thanks go to all involved!
The saga of Michael’s and Miriam’s love continues and becomes more twisted in this, the fourth installment in this crazy story, where Mimi includes herself as a character. (I love that by the way)
we are now five years on in the craziness, and Michael has spent that time searching for Miriam after she was taken by Nice, who continues to grow more crazed every day. Michael is still his bumbling self, making absolutely ridiculous mistakes, and Miriam is lying . . . but why??? Hold on to your hats when you find out why, and what happens when the truth comes out! Dear gods! Mimi, what are you thinking!?
No spoilers here, but this is the best Librarian book in the series!
Roll on #5, and maybe #6????
You’ll understand it when you read the book!!!
loved the characters and the unpredictable twist of the story. but most of all he scary individual Mr. Nice brilliant.
I meant to draw the book out so I could enjoy it for longer, but I couldn’t help but read it in a day. Oh, well. It was amazing. So many twists and turns and funny references from previous books (don’t worry, you don’t have to read those first). The book is hilarious and suspenseful and you should definitely read it asap.
Now Michael has to find were Nice took Miriam. It takes years but he finally does it only to find out how complicated the situation was. I loved this book and to what lengths Michael will go to heal his heart.
I love this series. I read all 4 in 3 days and I can’t wait for the 5th book.
For Such A Fun, Light Hearted Series This One Was Harsh!!
The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant: Book 4
So much happened throughout this book, including a marriage, a complete break up of a relationship & a 5 year time jump that’s heart wrenching!
Miriam & Michael don’t always see eye to eye. Lula attempts to right her original wrong! There’s a King & a Queen of the Vampires but also a coup attempt!! Mr Nice plays very badly & Michael hits his limit!!
I truly can’t wait for the next book, it’s going to be in Miriam’s POV Bring it on!!

Notice has been served, your library books are overdue and Michael is NOT happy.
Book 4 picks up shortly after the resolution of book 3. Miriam is missing; kidnapped by Mr Nice an ancient Vampire who is more that a few french fries short of a happy meal. Michael is laser focused on finding them to the point of neglecting his role as King. Failure is not something that he is unfamiliar with, unfortunately he may be a little too emotional to be able to solve this mystery. One thing is for sure, after things come to light nothing will ever be the same in Michael’s life.
True to form Mimi loves to absolutely torture her characters, and this book is no exception. With many “oh she did not” moments book 4 was exceptionally entertaining with plenty of twists and surprises. Though Book 4 is a continuation of the ongoing Michael Vanderhorts telenovela in book form, Mimi does a good job providing enough back story to make it a stand alone. Each installment just ups the “stakes” providing another delightful romp told through the chaos of vampire life and their society dramas.
Vampy Drew goes on adventure of a lifetime. I once again put on my detective cap and followed the great Michael around hoping to solve the mysterious before he did. Just when I thought I knew what was going on, I hit a gummy bear, took a wrong turn, went up a rainbow, and ended up wondering what the heck was coming next. Even though I couldn’t solve them all before the great Vampire detective, Michael gave me enough laughs to last a lifetime. Two lessons I learned. Drink responsibly and chocolate in moderation. Happy reading!!
Just when I think we might possibly reach the end of Michael and Miriam, Ms. Pamfiloff kicks it up a notch and now things are amiss for Michael and his Librarian (or is she still)? Life for Michael is anything but ordinary, trying to keep up with all things vampire and king, having to look for Miriam, eventually finding her only to discover things aren’t right with her and what she believes is her reality. I can’t wait to see how things progress when the next book is released!
MJP gives us more crazy, hilarious kick@$$ librarian’s assistant!
Michael wants his librarian back. She’s been gone for five years. He’s been taking care of her beloved library while following leads on Mr Nice sightings. And then Lulu tells him Nice has been sighted. And he’s off to get her back. Only it isn’t so simple.
And there’s a really big surprise.
Really, really big!
Cozy mystery with crazy centuries old vampire bad guy, snarky, sarcastic vampire hero, a brainwashed (?) librarian, a vampire queen, chocolate, Minnesota, Forks (yes, that Forks), more Fanged Love, mistaken identity…
Mimi gives us yet another winding, twisty, convoluted, insane, awesome story.
I can’t wait for book 5.
I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Another fantastic read from MJP! This is the 4th book in the series but can totally be a stand alone. As usual, a fast entertaining read with mystery, angst and charm. You will never be disappointed with this author!
Loved this book so much read it in a few hours! Such a fun read and wonderful chapter in the series.
Mystery! Mystery! Mystery! {with a side of romance!}
The fourth book in the Librarian’s Vampire Assistant series continues the intrigue, plot twists, humor, and sass that we’ve come to know, love and crave! This book, in fact all books in the series, are stand-alone stories (read: these are NOT cliffys – NO cliffhangers in sight – we hate those!). Each mystery is solved by the end of the book, and the amazing and devious Mimi Jean tantalizes us with the setup for the next story. You know how much vampires (and readers!) love mystery!
I’ve read every book in this series, along with darn near everything written by the author, and I can say that things just keep getting better! All things! Pamfiloff has brought us many amazing and diverse series over the years, and I don’t think I could pick just one as my favorite. All tied for first! 😉 That said, I’ve quite enjoyed this fun, unique, and crazy take on the vampire world, and I can’t WAIT for the next installment.
I personally don’t like spoilers in reviews, but rather a general overview sprinkled with some fun story or series specifics to let you get a feel for what the book will bring you. If you’ve read any of the previous stand-alones in the series, you’re familiar with Michael, Miriam, Lula, and of course the maniacal Mr. Nice. Oh, I can’t forget “Fanged Love”, the book series-within-the series that has shaped our beloved characters and their story line more than you’d think possible! The Easter Eggs in these books…I love them almost too much.
We get at excellent recap of the stories so far at the beginning of LVA4 and then we’re plunging in with everything we’ve got! You’ll be turning pages as fast as your brain can soak up the words (I read it in one sitting). There is a lot happening as the events unfold, but things may not be what they seem! In true Mimi Jean fashion, you’ll be yelling at your book while simultaneously laughing at the antics and begging for the next piece of the puzzle.
If you enjoy a good, smart mystery with sassy wit and a sprinkle of romance, then you need this book (if I could give it 6 stars, I would). I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. However, I’ve purchased other books in the series, and would have HAPPILY paid for this book five times over.
I am in love with this series and I don’t want it to ever end!!!! You can read these books as stand alone but highly recommend reading them in order so you get the most out of them. Now in this one we get more of that snarky dry humor that I love so much, Michael is the greatest!!!!
This is book 4 in The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant Series. I am obsessed with this series. As always Mimi has you laughing hysterically one minute and screaming at the book the next. She puts you through all the feels. From the moment I started this book I couldn’t put it down, you are kept riveted to the pages. I highly recommend this book and series.
If you’ve read the previous books in this series, you know about Michael, Miriam, Mr. Nice, Fanged Love and the awesome library that started it all. The beginning of LVA4 gives you a refresher and an update on all of the above then Bam, Bam, Bam. This book spins into WTFville and you have to keep turning the pages to make sure you read the last few pages right and to make peace with the totally unexpected plot twists. Personally my head was spinning trying to connect dots that I may have missed while also trying to imagine the bigger picture that they may become. Do yourself a favor, don’t try that. Enjoy the ride and take a deep breath at the end, it comes together very cleverly and still leaves you with an appetite for more. I am chomping at the bit for LVA5 which is not what I expected several books ago. I thought this series was most likely going to be a trilogy and it keeps surprising me. So jump on the crazy train that is the Librarian’s Assistant and enjoy the mystery, mystery, mystery…
This book was an amazing read that answered some questions and left me with more questions as well as a new mystery!! The story continues and has me hooked. Michael has a new stack of questions and issues in this installment leaving him with a new set of problems. The story had me hooked and it moved along and was hard to put down once I started reading it. I have so much to say about this book but if I did I would ruin it for others. In the end, this was a great read that I would recommend to others.
Well that just happened. It’s a surprising turn of events for Michael that will have you yelling at your book. I kept repeating my MJP mantra “Nothing is as it seems”, because really Mimi likes to screw with us that way and then blame it on the characters (I say in a tongue in cheek manner).
In all honesty Michael’s dated almost humourless attitude is hysterical and he’s so oblivious at times it makes his first person narration even better.
This is technically not a cliffhanger but it’s also not a HEA, yet, it does leave a wide open ending for the next book, squeee! I loved this book it is my favorite out of the series so far. Mimi will have you laughing out loud and will have you cursing at Michael, Mr. Nice….Lula… well just about everyone; it’s all in good fun and one hell of a story. I stayed up half the night reading it I couldn’t put it down.
Book four was everything a reader could as for from Mimi Jean and then some. There are so many surprises along the way that it will have your head spinning, much like Michael’s after a particular feed)! It is an emotional rollercoaster that ends in a deep plunge over the edge! From page one, this book will grab you and keep you on the edge of your seat right through to the last page! While this book is definitely a stand alone, I strongly suggest you start with book one and read straight through!!
