Ok, so she’s right, technically it’s not a cliffhanger. I love this book!! Books….I am so ready for part 3! Michael, Nice, Miriam, Lula, Viviana, all the moving parts to this twisted, convoluted mystery…it’s all my favorite things!! It has the feel of my favorite mystery author, the late, great Elizabeth Peters. Except it’s from Emerson’s POV instead of Amelia…crazy, insane, wild plot from a slightly full of himself, way too smart, slightly clueless, vampire’s point of view. I FLOVED IT! And now for book 3.

Oh Mimi’s done it again, woven an evil twisty plot that sucks you in, and keeps you hanging onto each and every page. Wanting more, but not wanting the book to end.
The drama, the hilarity, quirkiness, suspense and twisted plot, makes this one hell of a unique paranormal adventure.
Mr Nice needs to have his own book … priceless !
I love this series so much, now I’m completely torn between King, Rook and Michael !! I need more of this series and soon, please write faster.

Often when you have a sequel it’s just never as good as the original… That is definitely NOT the case here. The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant 2 is just as good if not better than the first.
Our quirky 400 year old gentleman Vampire with very particular tastes. He likes his life of peace, order, extra spicy Indian food, coffee, and the more reasonable climate of Ohio. He certainly doesn’t need ¬¬¬Arizona’s excessive sunshine, 500 missing rogue vampires or the quirky librarian that is taking up way to much of his attention.
With the mystery of who killed Michael’s maker and oldest friend solved you would think that he would be happy. Oh no, there are 2 territories thousands of miles apart to oversee, vampires to hunt down. Not to mention the ultimatum given over “his” accident prone trouble magnet librarian whom he has spent way too much time trying to keep alive.
Mimi Jean has successfully given us a fresh take on traditional vampire lore, finding new ways to bring her creativity and flare for snarky yet lovable characters to what is still a new genre for her. She finds new and inventive ways to torture her beloved characters and by result her loyal readers. If I didn’t find myself deriving so much enjoyment from Mimi’s twisted mind I might be inclined report her for the need of professional help. She can be absolutely devious and I love every word of it.

Another great read from Ms. Pamfiloff! She has perfected her novels with the right amount of humor, suspense and romance and I will read her books every time! I cannot recommend this author or this book enough. You’re back in the world of the Vampires but this novel can be read alone with NO cliffhanger. I laughed, I cried, I worried through thi whole story and can’t wait to read more of this world.

This is a very good book. This is an unusual vampire story. I like the characters and the plot. Miriam is strong and intelligent. She is the librarian with whom Micheal had s bond. Micheal is brave and at times chauvinistic. The plot has twists and surprises. There are quirky characters. My favorite is Mr. Nice.

The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant book 2 finds Michael pretty much where we left off, still looking for answers in his maker’s death, the reason for the new vampire making parties, who else is selling ancient vampire blood to make new vampires to the highest bidder, all while trying to keep his precious little librarian safe from herself and the vampires who have decided she must either join them or die for what she knows. Unfortunately for our unlucky librarian Miriam, she knows NOTHING thanks to the copious amounts of drugs that were in her system when she watched her boyfriend, Jeremy and Mr. Aspen get dusted. She literally thinks she imagined the whole thing but Michael can’t convince the council of her ignorance so he needs to find a creative way to get her out of her “sentence” of death or life as a vampire without her finding out the truth and maintaining her humanity.
Michael gets to the bottom of Clive’s murder and is betrayed by the most unlikely of people in the newest installment of Mimi Jean Pamfiloff’s cozy vampire mystery series, The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant book 2!

There is nothing about this book that I don’t like. Michael has an incredibly funny inner dialogue. Mr Nice is just as crazy as before. Lula had me laughing out loud, and Miriam….poor Miriam can’t catch a break. This is the second book in the series and it can be read as stand alone since Mimi Jean Pamfiloff catches the reader up on what happened in the first but I highly recommend reading them in order for it to be more enjoyable. Plus, Miriam is way more clumsy in the first and it’ll crack you up. This is told from Michael’s POV and he is trying to solve a mystery. So, we see less between him and Miriam in this book even though they’re relationship is very important.
The music played while in the box cracked me up even though it should have been a serious moment. I won’t give away any details but if you like comedy and vampires than you’ll love this series. I can’t wait for the next one to come out.

Mimi Jean Pamfiloff’s comedic sense is priceless. Some of the one-liners she gives her characters are unexpectedly funny amidst otherwise serious or dramatic scenes. I was quickly drawn into this story and its quirky characters from Mimi’s creative imagination and did not want to put it down until the last word was read.
There’s still more intrigue and mystery as things heat up for Michael and Miriam and it’s not coming from the Phoenix climate. Getting answers only leads to more questions as Michael tries to keeps all the balls he’s juggling in the air not to mention the deadline he’s been given by the Council in regards to Miriam. It seems something ominous is happening despite Michael’s best efforts to control the narrative. Highest on his list of priorities of protecting his librarian.

I think this book is possible more fucked up than the first, and I mean that in the best possible way. Poor Michael, first he’s charged with finding 500 illegal newbie vampires and the first vampire to be in charge of two territories to top it all off he has to tell Miriam, the accidental prone librarian he is strangely fascinated with, the truth about what he is and *takes in a deep breath* that Mr. Nice the cliched looking the head of the Vampire Council expects him to turn her and for there to be a wedding between the two of them any day now. Unfortunately Michael has made little headway in to finding the missing vampires, it’s as if they just vanished and he’s trying to figure out a way to stall Mr. Nice about Miriam because he likes her the way she is, human, and he doesn’t want to marry her he doesn’t love her (the vampire doth protest too much). Just when Michael starts making headway on the missing vamps someone attempts to kidnap Miriam and kill Michael. As per usual with any Mimi books when the shit starts it hits the fan at full speed.
Overall, this book was hysterical! When I wasn’t LMAO I was holding my breath in anticipation of what would happen next. Mimi has seriously surpassed her own level of “Lets fuck with the characters and the readers”. This is a first person POV through Michael’s eyes it’s a great narrative. The conflict is completely resolved in this book so it’s technically not a cliffhanger but the last chapter is the giant ass of Mr. T. Zer. (It’s a teaser!) But that’s also good news you know why?? That means BOOK 3!!!

The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant 2 is book two in The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant series by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. If you think this will be a nice, pleasant, feel good, sit down and relax sort of book, think again! This is non stop craziness all the way through.
Michael Vanderhorst is a four hundred year old vampire. He is leader of his territory in Cincinnati. But has traveled to Phoenix, Arizona to investigate the death of his maker. In Phoenix, he not only finds himself unexplainably attracted to a very human librarian, Miriam, but has now been given leadership of this territory as well. So now, not only is he trying to solve the murder of his maker, figure out why he feels so connected to his sweet librarian, figure out why people are trying to force her to sell her library, he has two territories to lead! Life just keeps getting better and better.
To top everything off, the leader of ALL of the territories, Mr. Nice, who is not very nice at all, thinks that Miriam knows about the vampires, which she doesn’t. And thinks she is Michael’s soulmate. So he is being forced to not only marry her, but also turn her.
Whoever killed Michael’s maker is trying to make an army and has made five hundred brand new vampires. But no one has any clue where they are being hidden. So, Michael is also tasked with finding out where the newbie vampires are being hidden and to kill them all!
Poor Michael. Things just keep heaping on him one after the other. Most importantly, he is trying to keep his little librarian safe which is in itself, a full time job. Not only is she a bona fide danger magnet, someone is trying to kidnap her. Which has caused Michael to kill not one but two people to save her and bury their bodies out in the desert, a very unpleasant task since vampires don’t exactly love the sun.
I think I said this in the review for the first book but I’ll say it again. I would classify the humor in this book as cheeky! Michael is hit with one thing after another. And all the while, he can’t understand his obsession with Miriam. Vampires aren’t supposed to feel emotion. But his feelings are growing stronger for her every single day. This was so much fun and actually, really suspenseful! I loved it. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. And, of course, Mimi Jean leaves us hanging. I can honestly hear her evil cackle in the background. She loves to torture her readers. So, I will be hanging by my fingernails to find out what happens next. And to see if Michael and Miriam might finally make sense of their connection and get some sort of a happy ending!

In this second book in this series, the librarian’s vampire assistant finds himself in trouble in more ways than one. He is having feelings he doesn’t understand toward Miriam, he is realizing that there are more things going on in the vampire world than he knows about, and Mr. Nice seems to be planning an extravagant wedding for Michael and Miriam that he has no plan to go through with! Trying to keep Miriam safe only gets them in more danger. There are plot twists enough to keep your head spinning and then, as usual with this author, a cliffhanger from hell! This book will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end and leave you craving more!

What can’t this woman do!!!! Mimi has done it again like with all her books she has managed to hook me from the very beginning to the very end leaving me waiting for the next book to get here. Cause that is what she is known for besides her amazing storytelling, crazy wit, really hot AF male leads, smartass, sweet and maybe danger prone heroines, and those scene stealing characters like one Mr. Nice. I swear that man or vampire is related to Cimil somehow.
In this second book Michael Vanderhorst is man/vampire on a even bigger mission. He’s gotta find 500 hundred newly turned vampires, figure out how to manage two territories cause that’s unheard of, find out for sure if two idiots who created this mess are really dead, oh last but really on the top of the list (but don’t tell the council) Keep Miriam out of trouble. The woman is danger prone magnet and he can’t seem to resist her.
Read this funny, quick wit scene stealing book and you won’t be disappointed in it. Hey you might just become another card caring Mimi Addict. It’s real thing, I have been part of the club since her very first book came out Accidentally In Love….With a God? Hmmm Guy……. Sorry wrong guy (hehe) or should I say wrong God. Anywhoo you will fall in love with Michael and just might find yourself wishing a guy or vampire like him really existed. Oh who knows he might just exist in real life….locked up in Cimil’s basement with scary ass clowns next to the evil genius called Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. Happy Reading everyone!!!

Once again Mimi keeps you on your toes with her humor in this 2nd installment of The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant. I couldn’t put this book down. You will find yourself giggling throughout. I loved that Michael and Miriam’s relationship has moved forward, although at a slow pace, leaving you wanting more. One mystery is solved leading us into another for book 3. Although you can read this book as a standalone you really should read book 1 first. I highly recommend this book. It’s a 5+ star read.

This is the 2nd book in this series, you can read it as a stand alone, but, it would be good to have that back story from book 1.
Michael Vanderhorst has always been a lone vampire. Michael is 400 yrs old, an ancient gentleman vampire, who looks like he’s 20. He is a 2nd generation vampire.
The Vampire Council has asked Michael, to hunt down and execute five hundred vampires no one can seem to locate. Michael’s execution days are long over.
However, to get the council on his side with Miriam, he knows he must do what they have asked. Miriam is still in the dark as to who Michael is. Michael doesn’t understand the bond that is tracking him to her, but, he knows he can’t be away from her. He wants to be near her and close to her. Miriam says she keeps having these weird dreams with Michael in them. She doesn’t know why she is drawn to him either.
Vampire Politics rule just about everything Michael is trying to do. Being in charge of 2 places is becoming very stressful for him.
Michael also has a visit from Mr. Nice, who is a 1st generation vampire. He is older and stronger than Michael is. Mr. Nice, believes that Michael and Miriam are engaged. He is ready for their wedding! He has even bought a new ‘outfit’ for this special event! Mr. Nice is in love with Miriam library, and her house full of books. He has enjoyed a few books from Miriam’s collections.

Add in the dash of romance and it was a wonderful story. Some questions were answered, others left in the abyss of mystery that will have you coming back for more!
I truly enjoyed this book and look forward to more.

A very enjoyable read. Lots of witty and comical banter between the characters. Well written and an all out fun book to read. The mystery just kept getting bigger and bigger and kept me guessing until almost the end. I absolutely love the way Mimi Jean’s mind works when she is writing. She never disappoints me with her stories. While there is no cliffhanger to this book, there is a great lead in to LVA 3 at the end. Now if Ms. Pamfiloff would hurry and write book #3 in this great series! 🙂

What do you get when you have a librarian that lives in denial, a vampire that rules two covens that are thousand miles apart, a hopelessly romantic vampire councilman and a time limit? CHOAS!
I laughed a great deal, moaned, face-palmed myself a few times, rolled my eyes, and snorted at the awkward parts. Mimi Jean delivers the most implausible stories in the most outrageous ways.
