I read this in a single sitting, unable to put it down.’ Netgalley ReviewerSamantha stumbled out of the party and onto a busy street only ten minutes away from her home. But she never made it home… Seven years after Samantha’s disappearance, on what would have been her thirty-fifth birthday, her best friend Diane is shocked to find a letter addressed … Diane is shocked to find a letter addressed to Samantha on her doorstep.
Opening the envelope, Diane pulls out a birthday card and a finger nail painted in dusky pink nail polish. The same shade Samantha always wore. The same shade she was wearing the night she went missing.
When police analyse the nail, they don’t get the result they expected. Instead of linking them to Samantha, the nail belongs to another woman, Jade Ashmore. And Jade was murdered the night before the envelope was delivered….

Having read the previous books, I was looking forward to reading The Liar’s House as the books are set in my local area and I was keen to continue the journey.
A woman is found murdered after a party, the team swiftly assembled to find out who did it. However, things are not all they seem. The party is not all it seems either.
DI Harte and her team are chasing shadows, trying to piece together snippets of evidence that never seems to bring the killer out of the shadows. I will say no more…
I really loved this book. I felt that Gina is undergoing a journey and this book took her into darker territory. The author really knows how to torture Harte, bad dreams, anxious moments and self-doubt all batter her as she struggles to hold it together in search of answers.
Really gripping thriller, that kept me hanging until the final few pages.
I am itching to continue the journey. Five stars all day long…
Yet another stunning thriller in the Gina Harte series, which is one of the best crime series around in my opinion.
With each book we learn more and more about Gina and her vulnerabilities. She has a dark secret that no one around her knows about but the readers know what it is and it keeps you glued to the series, watching and waiting to see if Gina slips up.
A definite page-turner which I read in two sittings. It tackles the murder of a female victim who was involved in a swingers club. What unfolds is shocking to the detective team and the other people involved in the parties.
A revelation about a previous case which happened seven years before will have you turning the pages swiftly.
A great cast of characters, some of whom create tension for Gina as memories of her unhappy marriage are revealed.
Eagerly awaiting the next instalment in this gripping series.
My first by this author and the Detective Gina Harte series. It did not disappoint. Well plotted and kept me guessing all the way to the end! There is a lot of backstory for the main character and the others develop as the story goes along. Looking forward to the next one!
There was a lot going on in this book and not many clues are given to Gina and her team. A woman disappeared seven years ago, but no body was found. The a mother of a four year old girl is found beaten to death and Gina struggles to find something to help getting closer to the killer. When another woman disappear the police finally find something both women had in common. Both were members of a website for people interested in swapping partners.
This is one of those “I couldn’t put it down” books. Once started I had to know what would happen next. There was so much suspense and I couldn’t guess the outcome at all. Highly recommended.
Author Carla Kovach knocks it out of the ballpark again with book #4 of the Detective Gina Harte series. I love this police procedural thriller series that works well as standalones. Detective Gina Harte and her superior DCI Chris Briggs have a past romantic history which complicates things at times but makes the story very interesting. A young woman is found murdered after an adult part which leads detectives to questions whether this death is related to other previous disappearances of young women from the area. There are many twists and turns and surprises in this page turner. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I look forward to Author Kovach’s book #5 in this series. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC of this fantastic book that kept me on the edge of my seat.
Detective Inspector Gina Harte is back in the fourth book of this series. The novel can be read as a stand-alone as Kovach provides a gracious amount of contextual material on the main characters. The plot is intricate, intertwining Harte’s past with one of her current cases. This book readily allows readers of the series to appreciate the character arc that Kovach has developed with some of the key characters. In addition, the mystery and foreshadowing underpinning the plot line is captivating. It gives the reader that bit of trepidation that is so often sought after within this genre. Great read. 5 stars.

This was the 4th book in the detective Gina Hart series, but I read it as a stand a lone. I will be going back, and reading the others to get to know Gina better.
However, the book was great! I was hooked from the beginning, and read it in one day.
This was the type of book, that sucks you in from the beginning. It was a great thriller, great story and plot with well developed characters. Definitely a must read if you love thrillers, and a who done it type of book.
The book will be released on July 2, 2019.
