Loved the story and wanted to keep reading to find out how it would turn out. It made me want to read her next book The Key.
A well written book that is worth reading. Had never read this author before but enjoyed this book and plan to read more of her books.
The book touched on many issues of the time of the story. Tragic circumstances that changed the course of life for the characters.
I enjoyed the book. Not totally happy but pulled together well. Coupled with some historical revelance, it was good.
Great book and very engaging, held my interest throughout and wanted to read more by same author. The story was original and you really didn’t know where the story would take you.
Great book
This was a sweet story.
I couldn’t put it down.
It’s been a long time since I became so vested in a book. Maybe it hit close to home because I lost my husband 9 months ago. The characters were so well depicted I felt as if I knew them. And the way the two stories intertwined was captivating.
very good.
Loved this story, though it was heart- retching, was well, worth the tears. I love stories that go back and forth between two or more eras. Kathryn Hughes has done a wonderful job of doing this…wonderful characters too. Sorry the story came to an end!
I loved it.
Finding an old letter leads to a determined journey of finding the source with many turns and obstacles.
The tagline on the cover reads “guaranteed to break your heart” and in many respects this is true.
