Love ALL Dylan Allen’s books!!! Their just THAT good!!!
Do you love Enemies-to-lovers, Alpha billionaire’s and strong heroines? If so, then this book is for you.
Confidence is beautiful, caring and one hell of a ballsy woman. This girl had no problem making the first move and would hand a man his ass if need be. I loved her so much in the beginning of the book, but somehow her defiance towards Hayes and her hesitancy to commitment started building up a rage inside me, lol!
Hayes is gorgeous, drop-dead sexy and head over heels in love with his girl. He may need a little push into doing what’s right, but rebuilding his legacy with purpose is a hard task. Mr. Rivers pulls it off and so much more. He’s quick to right his wrongs and does a wonderful job of winning back the girl he was meant to be with. My heart felt for him and at the same time I was happy to uncover his family’s hidden secret. Can’t wait to continue this series!
Forming the Foundation
The Legacy brings drama, heat, and passion. The chemistry between Confidence and Hayes is powerful. Ms. Allen did a wonderful job of building the world of Rivers Wilde with great detail and fun side characters. These two fiery characters faced some twists and turns to reach their HEA. This is an angsty read that makes me wonder what other adventures await me in Rivers Wilde.
I’m typically a fan of Dylan Allen, but this just didn’t do it for me. I didn’t really connect with either character. Hayes was a bit of a jerk and too aggressive with Confidence for me. Confidence seemed to flip from strong female to whiney and overly stubborn. However, there is a very intriguing side story that I am looking forward to in the next book.
Feisty kick ass HEA
This book was amazing, it had everything you’d wish for in a HEA, great storyline, characters, romance, feisty, strong female lead in Confidence, she’s kick ass, and to die for hot male in Hayes, with all the steamy erotica added in. Twists and turns all the way. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Remi.
I started reading this book back in February and got distracted with so many ARCs coming my way, I had to stop. I picked it up again in April, easily slipping right back into this interesting story. I liked the characters, although at times I found them both a bit too stubborn for their own good. The story moved right along with a number of twists and turns, eventually arriving at a rather satisfying conclusion. I can’t honestly say this was one of my most favorite reads so far this year, but it had much to offer and I thought it was definitely worth my reading time. This was the first book I’ve read from this talented author. I’ll be jumping into The Legend (Rivers Wilde, #2) when I can to read more.
3.5 Stars. I was torn with this book. It had a lot of good parts to it but it also had some parts that was not as good. I am not sure if it took me some time to connect with the book or what, but I will say that the ending got me excited to read the next book to see where the story goes.
Confidence was a great character. I loved how she was strong, strong-willed, and determined. She did not let what people thought of her get to her, she was proud of who she is and where she came from. Hayes, there was times I liked him and times I wanted to smack him. I thought that Confidence was exactly what he needed. I liked how she showed him a different perspective of the world and he was willing to see. It did bug me how supporting character were either mentioned and not introduced or introduced and then forgotten.
Overall I thought that this was a good story and I am excited to continue with the series to see where it leads.
First Words Hooked Me….. SUCKED Me into the very last words written…. THE LEGACY…. Enemies to Loves…. Page Turner…. Sexy.. Fast paced Ride….. Hot Alpha Males…. No Nonsense Females makes for an Explosive Storyline…. Your gonna want to Read the start of this Series

Title: The Legacy (Rivers Wilde #1)
Author: Dylan Allen

———————————————————-
The Legacy by Dylan Allen is a full-length standalone romance about a power couple fighting against all odds. I don’t know what words to write that can properly describe the entirely new book world Allen has created. A world I want to immerse myself into entirely, a world I never want to leave. This world is unlike anything I’ve ever read, and it took me a while to get into it. But Hayes River, as confident as he is, basically forced all my attention on him and demanded I hear his story.
The author’s writing was flawless. With her words coming off the pages and playing a movie in my head. I felt like I was right there along with the characters, falling in love and taking over the world. And we can’t forget about how vivid the sex was. The sex scenes in this book were off the charts hot, burning me up from the inside out. I had to take a few breaks while reading this, it was so real to me, it might as well have been a menage between Hayes, Confidence and I, cos I was basically there with them lol. These two characters together are definitely on fire in the bedroom but together outside of the bedroom they are downright a powerhouse you don’t want to mess with. There are many twists and turns you definitely won’t see coming and it will leave you wanting more from these two.
I only had one problem with this book and it was that the cover didn’t really do it for me, in terms of matching the story. But now I’ve seen the new cover and it’s absolutely perfect! There were still a lot of things that were left unsaid and unanswered and I wanted a lot more conflict and drama between the rivaling families, but I’ll take what I can get. And I guess that’s why it’s only 4 stars. Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, as I do all this author’s works and I highly recommend it.

Well this one had quite a bit of drama. I liked the beginning but then the back and forth between Confidence and Hayes was getting a wee bit exhausting. I don’t know, it wasn’t bad but it didn’t blow me away. I’ll for sure check out the next one because it’s about Remi and I was really digging him.
Dylan Allen has once again brought her A game to the table with this story! I am not ashamed to say that when I read the blurb and title I immediately thought it was a royal romance, which peaked my interest. However, I was not the least bit disappointed when I discovered that this story was so much more.
Legacy is centered around Hayes King, the heir apparent to old money. He is bred to believe that his life is nothing but what he is worth. That no one truly cares about him as a person, but only what he and his money can do for them. That is until one night at a wedding in Italy he meets, Confidence.
Let me tell you is she a breathe of fresh air! Confidence comes from nothing and has to work for everything she has in life. She see nothing but a man when she looks at a Hayes, a man in pain.
When these two get together, there is nothing but trials that stand in there way. However a King will do what he must to protect his Queen.
There are not enough words to recommend this book enough. It was a little slower paced in the middle, but other than that I could have closed it and started all over again.
Luvd this
I ‘ve noticed a few of my friends reading this book over the last few months and it got great reviews. So I thought I’d give it go. I m really glad I did the story was really good. I was hooked from the start. I luvd Confidence she was a great character. Then you have the gorgeous Hayes he is just had good they have a great connection but at times Hayes needs to know when to shut his mouth. It does get him into trouble once or twice. He is just lucky to have a great girl in Confidence. Both characters have had there fair share of hard times. It did make them better people and together they were so good. I m looking forward to more of this series. I would highly recommend it. After the crazy twists and turns I m dying for more of the River – Wildes.
4.5 stars.
This is my first book by Dylan Allen and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked Dylan’s writing – it was easy to read, it flowed really well and her world building was magnificent. She really captures the readers imagination and immerses them into the world she has created. I want to move to Rivers Wilde. I want to live there. I would never need to leave, they have everything.
I have to say, I loved the different characters that were introduced and their interactions. Sure there was one or two that I didn’t like and wanted to punch in the nads. Confidence and Hayes were the perfect match for each other and I adored them. I definitely look forward to reading more in this world. So many awesome characters to know more about. Although Remi is at the top of my intrigued list. I adored Cass, she’s the type of friend every girl needs, right?
The chemistry between Confidence and Hayes. It was palpable. You could feel it leaking off the pages it was that good. Their attraction was instant and the sex was off the charts hot. H-O-T! This is most definitely not a slow burn and features some super steamy scenes…including some backdoor action. Hayes is such a dirty talker and I loved that. The way they interacted and how their relationship progressed was fantastic and kept me turning the pages…long after I should have closed the book to sleep.
Have you ever come across a character that you just fell in love with – not their looks, not anything sexual, but their personality, their attitude, and beliefs? This book has one of those characters and I knew before I’d even finished that it didn’t necessarily matter how it ended…a part of me didn’t mind how it ended up, just as long as this character is happy because they’re special and I knew I’d remember her long after I finished the book. And I was right as I’m still raving about her awesomeness over a week later. This world would be a much better place if more people were like Confidence Ryan. She’s the definition of a queen in a world of princesses. I just adored Confidence. This girl, she just made me think. I loved her attitude and I loved that Hayes started to change not because she necessarily wanted him to change but because of her influence, him being with her and understanding her passion and her thought processes made him look at himself and want that change. It really made him think and do things differently. Seeing that change was great and it showed his character development throughout the book. His character developed the most, I feel. Although it was obvious he had some of these wants and desires deep down, he just never felt he could actually accomplish them…Confidence gave him the confidence to do it. She truly is her namesake. When we first meet Hayes I thought he was a really nice guy and assumed he’d be the ‘nice guy’ you know the one – the sweet and sensitive and lovely hero that could do no wrong, but then, he turned into a first-class a-hole. The way he was, the way he spoke to Confidence and the things he said, my god, I wanted to kick him in the nads. I hated him. I kinda got frustrated on her behalf. There is then a scene right after where things truly go awry. I think it is one of the best scenes I’ve ever read. Ever. And here is why. Confidence truly believes she is going to die and yet she is still giving Hayes crap. She still tries to make him accountable. And that is Confidence, that scene sums her up to a T, I’m in danger, but, I’m going to put you in your place anyway. I need rescuing and I’m scared, but it’s your fault so you better stay with me. I was laughing out loud, she was still giving him crap, and it makes him start to question what he believed about her and I just loved the way that played out.
After my initial ‘goddamnit I hate you Hayes’ I thought he was lovely. He had some really sweet moments too. His compassion was really easy to see and understand. He’s had a difficult upbringing – but a different type, to what most people would understand but you see him making amends for some of the bad decisions other people have made. You see him grovel – really grovel, and he tries to win his girl back. I like that it wasn’t instant and that you got to see him actually make amends.
There are lots of things that happen to make you think, hmm, what’s going on here. There is a twist which I figured out – I know some people don’t like when you can work it out, but I actually love it. It means the author has done there job, they’ve dropped enough breadcrumbs for me to follow to get to the outcome. I love that. I know some people may have been shocked by it, which is great and then some people figure it out and that is awesome too. The fact we can all take something different from the same story and react differently to the same story is one of the reasons I love reading so much. I liked how everything came together in the end. I thought the ending was sweet and it really tied the book in a nice pretty bow, whilst leaving you wanting more.
The new cover, I just love it so much. It is Hayes and Confidence. The characters are bleeding through this image and it just gives me all the feels. Now, this? This is a book I would buy based on the cover. So yeah, totally love this new cover and I cannot wait to have it on my bookshelf.

The Legacy is the first book in a series revolving the city Rivers Wilde and also my first book by Dylan. Not the last, I can assure you that.
I absolutely loved Hayes and Confidence, together they share a wonderful chemistry. Now, Hayes acted like a caveman a coupple of times and it only added its appeal to this diamond of a story. Confidence doesn’t just roll over when it comes to Hayes. She makes sure he works for it. There are some twist and turns and they’ve only made me turn those pages faster!
I was greatly impressed by this riveting story.
3.5 Stars!
Hayes Rivers has been away from his own home for almost two decades. Now, he’s back to claim his kingdom. Amongst old rivalries, terrible secrets and betrayal, he finds the love of his life in a simple girl who brings him to his knees.
Confidence comes from humble bearings but she had never let that stop her. She realizes too late that the man she loves, his world is not meant to except her. But her heart refuses to accept and Hayes refuses to back down.
Nothing can stop Hayes from claiming his queen and he’s ready to pay whatever the cost it entails.
I kind of had a weird relationship with this book.
I really liked Hayes and Confidence’s characters. in fact, I really admire them. Hayes is a no non sense guy who’s front seems assholish but he’s actually a really good guy who has learnt to distance himself from hurt. I love his love for his queen. It’s the purest kind of love and so hard to find. Confidence is a pretty damn strong woman who never lets people walk over her. She knows how to give it back in spades.
Saying all of that, I never really connected to both of these characters. I wasn’t invested in their story because of which I couldn’t love it as much as I wanted to. And I really really wanted to because I have been waiting for this story for a long time now.
I will say that I am definitely stoked about this entire Rivers Wilde universe and I am pumped for Remi’s story. This is a very exciting and thrilling world that I for sure want to read more of.
4 stars
Beautiful book about rewriting your legacy.
Hayes Rivers was born into a dynasty. As the son of a Texas titan, he was born into wealth, privilege and unimaginable obligation. The neighbors, the Wilde’s are the enemy the likes of the Hatfield’s and McCoy’s. When Hayes’ father unexpectedly dies, his world turns upside down; comforted by an enemy, exiled from his family and raised by an aunt he never knew existed. He’s finally of age and ready to take his rightful place as the head of the family and the Kingdom, his family’s business. He doesn’t realize how jaded he’s become until we meets a girl from the wrong side of the tracks that shows him the meaning of life.
Confidence Ryan grew up with nothing. Poor as dirt, surrounded by violence and various abuses, her mother did all she could to pave the way for her to break free of their small lives. In the way only a small country town can, the town she was raised in acted as the second parent getting her through her formative years. It truly took a village. Now she’s all grown up and a lawyer trying to make a difference in the world. As a reward to herself, or a balm to her wounds, she’s gifted herself her first trip abroad. Thrust into the world of the upper crust, she doesn’t belong and is horribly insulted by the man of get dreams but she falls for him the way you fall off a cliff.
In the way that a river can cut away mountains over time, these two changed each other. They were hard and soft, lovers and warring angels, all that’s right and all that’s wrong. I loved the push and pull of their relationship. Their love forced them to be better and stronger in the way that real love does. They were also HAWT together, again in the way real life should be. Horribly edited but a great story. There were so many twists and turns, it like watching a soap opera but it was worth it in the end. Great read!

The Legacy is full of passion, angst, and heartbreak. Dylan Allen knows how to deliver a story, and this book is no exception!
Confidence and Hayes meet at a wedding in Italy, where their chemistry is undeniable. Unfortunately, Hayes comes from an extremely wealthy family and has a bad history with women being gold diggers, so he assumingly puts Confidence in the same category. However, she is just the opposite. She is fierce, independent, and resilient. Their chemistry takes off, as does their romance.
I will have to say that I am a little surprised at how this story turned out. It wasn’t really what I expected. I was hoping for more tension between Hayes and Remington, who is head of the rival family in Houston. That being said, though, I was super impressed by Dylan’s ability to build the world and setting of Rivers Wilde-it was so graphic and descriptive that I felt like I was transported there when I was reading.
Overall, a great read by Dylan Allen, and I am excited to learn more about Remington in the next book!
Filthy rich boy meets girl from the wrong side of the tracks. It sounds simple, but Hayes and Confidence are so much more than their background. The Legacy tells their funny, charming, frustrating and sexy story, I simply adore it.
“Everything feels so complicated, except for us.”
Confidence is down on her luck; she lost her job and finding a new one is much harder then she thought it would be. Men are not on her mind, but when she sees a handsome guy she has to talk to him. Hayes is done with women chasing him for his fortune, and at first, he puts Confidence in the same category. Confidence insulted, Hayes pissed off and amused, not the best way to meet. But when they get to know each other, everything changes, fast…
“This is different. It doesn’t have an agenda. It’s not foreplay. It’s just a kiss for the sake of it.”
The Legacy is the first book in the all new ‘Rivers Wilde Series’ by Dylan Allen. Like her other books this book is addictive; you want to know all about the characters and their unfolding story. The great thing about a new series is a new ‘world’, in this case the deep South of America, with its (for me) weird social rules and all. The Legacy is not just about Hayes and Confidence, also history of Hayes’ family plays an important part. I can’t wait what the future books will bring.
It has been awhile since I read a book with an Alpha hero, and that is what Hayes is; a true Alpha (but for once one with some self-control). It doesn’t take long before he realizes Confidence is everything, but he has to take it easy with her. Confidence is my kind of girl; loving, strong, loyal and very independent. I love how she doesn’t take ‘advantage’ of her new man’s fortune, that she keeps living her life. Confidence and Hayes come from very different backgrounds, but they are not that different. Both are driven people, very good at what they do. They also both shaped by their pasts and have learned valuable life lessons the hard way. I love the two of them together, they are everything.
“Your love has changed me. You’ve rewritten my future. Because of you, I know that my legacy will be whatever I chose. If people look at me and think I’m a king, it’s because I’m standing next to a queen.”
Old money versus new money. On the one hand we have a traditional family, rich, whose prestige and patrimony passes from generation to generation, an imposing legacy but full of intrigue. On the other, we have the emerging class, immigrants who worked, fought, and built an astonishing patrimony. But no matter how much money they have, they have no name, no lineage, and therefore are not accepted by the traditional elite. Two powerful families and enemies. The buying and selling of a land generated a whole conflict. But if you dig deeper, the secrets and lies surrounding the two families are older than you think. Welcome to Rivers Wilde.
Hayes Rivers lost his parents at a young age. As heir to the whole family legacy, he must prepare to take his place when he turns twenty-five. On that day, the whole command of his family and all the money will fall on his shoulders, he will be the chief and responsible for continuing the surname and legacy. Until then, as specified by his father, he will live with an aunt he did not even know existed in Italy.
Sixteen years later, Hayes is back in the country. Now a very rich man, he learned from a very young age not to trust people, because everyone who approaches wants something in return. His experiences speak for themselves: his ex-wife, his stepmother and his uncle are only interested in prestige and money. Until when attending a wedding in the name of his aunt, ends up meeting a woman who will shake his structures and make him rethink the true meaning of life.
Life is not being easy for Confidence. From very early on, she lives with the ugly, dark side of life. Living in one of the poorest places in the country, her mother is the only person she can count on, she has grown up in a violent home, suffered a lot, has been able to study, is a lawyer, and seeks to improve her life and attend to help those in need. Unemployed and clearly unlucky with men, she decides to accompany her friend at a wedding, her last and only act of rebellion until she returns to real life.
After a disastrous flirtation, a big misunderstanding and a fall on a cliff, Confidence and Hayes will approach, spend time together and start dating. But the magic will not last long. Day by day will create tension and disrupt the couple. And among intrigues, malicious family, a snobbish world and living in appearance, more and more the differences between the couple will appear, and they will not have an easy way to go. Add to that years of maladministration, a corrupt board, the family company near bankruptcy and various lawsuits. The confusion is complete.
The book has a slow pace, sometimes a bit tiring. The river and its floods were the great protagonist. Everything revolves around how this disaster will affect people, the book takes on a social tone in many parts. Hayes was very well written, it is possible to connect with the character and understand his doubts. The weight of his legacy (indeed such a legacy is constantly spoken in the book) is a burden to him. Confidence was the voice of reason and the person to center him, although at times I find her ideologies exaggerated. Remington Wilde was a pleasant surprise.
For me the best of the book happens in the final ten percent. The tone of the narrative changes, giving rise to intrigues, revelations, unimaginable secrets and bombastic truths. Everything I was expecting focused on the end, the story gained me in its final minutes. The end can be said to end in open, despite the main couple having their conclusion, Remington’s absence tells me that he went in search of something. Or someone.
The reading was exactly like the river flow. Calm, steady, but sometimes it takes a turn and we have a storm.
I LOVE THIS BOOK!! Dylan Allen continues to blow me away with her incredible writing. Confidence and Hayes’ love story is absolutely perfect. It’s sweet, sexy, steamy, and full of twists and turns. I fell in love with Confidence and Hayes along with the supporting characters. I didn’t want their story to end but I’m so excited for what’s to come.
