He’s not a douchebag; but that doesn’t stop his friends from turning him into one.MY FRIENDS WANT ME TO GET LAID. So much so that they plastered my ugly mug all over campus, in bold printed letters:Are you the lucky lady who’s going to break our roommate’s cherry? Him: socially awkward man with average-sized penis looking for willing sexual partner. You: must have pulse. He will reciprikate with … sexual partner. You: must have pulse. He will reciprikate with oral. Text him at: 555-254-5551
The morons can’t even spell. And the texts I’ve been receiving are what wet dreams are made of. But I’m not like these douchebags, no matter how hard they try to turn me into one.
THIS ISN’T THE KIND OF ATTENTION I WANT.
One text stands out from hundreds. One number I can’t bring myself to block. She seems different. Hotter, even in black and white.
However, after seeing her in person, I know she’s not the girl for me. But my friends won’t let up—they just don’t get it. Douchebags or not, there’s one thing they’ll never understand: GIRLS DON’T WANT ME.
Especially her.

Sara did it again. I loved this book as much as the other two. I can’t wait to get to the last two books in the series. I will be checking out more of her work once I am done with this series.
What’s not to love about this series!?!
Jocks a plenty.
Strong minded heroines.
Special kind of love.
Each story is it’s own unique little golden nugget but they are a part of a collection. I love the visits from team mates and the odd ball conversations.
It’s so much fun.
I think this one plot wise is my favorite. I loved seeing the growth of the characters. I especially appreciated not wanting to snack the heroine as it progressed.
Guys aren’t always the douchebag!
I loved Rhett and Laural’s story! I thought it was cute and cringey in the best possible way but also hot! I thought the narration was really well done for Rhett’s character although the french speaking parts weren’t my favourite. I thought the narrator for Laural could have been better as I thought her voice was annoying at times. I loved the actual book itself, it was different and fun! I HATED Rhetts roomates like a lot but they redeemed themselves a little bit. I’m definitely going to go back and read the first to books but I don’t think it will be on audiable.
Holy Shiitake Mushrooms! I have been anxiously awaiting this book since I finished How to Date a Douchebag #2 and boy did Sara NOT dissappint!
This book is FIVE incredible and hysterical stars! I loved everything about this book, I don’t have one negative thing to say! It is amazing and so is Sara!
The characters, story line… the twists and turns are all utterly superb! This baby was well worth the wait!
Favorite quote:
“Not all guys are as amazing as you, okay? You’re a unicorn boyfriend.”
This piques his interest.
“What the hell is a unicorn boyfriend?”
“Rare and hard to find in the Wild. And you’re mine.”
Sara Ney always delivers!
Ok. Listen. This book reminded me a lot of Hard Pass (which was my first Sara Ney book) but guess what? I don’t even care. I am HERE for this trope.
Rhett isn’t a classically handsome guy, so he’s had some trouble finding a girl and when his roommates plaster fliers all over campus with his picture and phone number, he’s getting all the offers, but he definitely doesn’t want them.
Rhett doesn’t strike Laurel’s fancy at all. He is really not her type. She is gorgeous and can have any guy she wants, but she soon finds out, looks aren’t everything.
Watching Rhett navigate trying to have a relationship was a little painful but I loved him. I loved seeing his confidence bloom. Laurel was so adorably vulnerable with him and these two just made my heart flutter.
Are you the lucky reader who’s going to fall head over heels in love with Rhett Rabideaux?
Him: perfect book boyfriend, super super sweet with great body, has awful friends, speaks French.
You: reader in need of an (almost) virgin jock who is going to steal your heart (and your panties).
Rhett Rabideaux is my ultimate book boyfriend, I’ve read his book for the first time more than a year ago and no other character has ever made me reconsider my choice. He is sweet, unexperienced, but super sexy at the same time. I just love how rough he is and how sentimental he gets. Laurel is the kind of protagonist I don’t really like in romance, too pretty, too sure of herself, but she is actually perfect in this book. She sees Rhett as no other girls did before and while the beginning of their relationship was not the best, their love story blew me away. For once, we get a super assertive girl and a guy who is not, she is experienced, he is not, she is gorgeous, he is not the typical handsome jock. Sara Ney created a story so different from what we can read in sports romance novels and she made me fall in love with her books even more.
This is by far the best book in the HTDAD series but it is at the same time every perfect thing the series is: super good and with diversified characters, low drama (this is like the best thing ever), the love stories are always so well made, every book is hilarious and you will get a touch of silliness/awkwardness that only Sara Ney can give to a story.
So, if you haven’t already, read this book! I would always recommend reading the entire series, but I think you can very easily read this one on its own. Then, you can join the Rhett Rabideaux obsessed club!
This book is just the medicine I needed to get me out of a slump. This is the first book in this series where the douchebag is caring and respectful from beginning to end. Rhett Rabideaux has captured my heart and the fact that not only is this wrestler Hot AF, he is also fluent in French. **sighs**
Love this series by Sara Ney! Each one is so unique and yet they all translate to each other very well. I enjoy reading each one for its engaging characters and steamy moments.
Rhett while slow on the relationship front is one of my favorites probably because he is not a douchebag at all. He’s sweet and considerate but again really slow when it comes to getting what he wants from Laurel. I did like the change up in this book that the girl was the douchebag and watching her opinion change was funny and sweet.
Rhett and Laurel meet after his douchebag roommates post a paper around campus with his picture and phone number on it trying to solicit someone to have sex with him. He gets some pretty graphic texts from a lot of girls. Laurel’s cousin dares her to text him as a joke. Rhett is not the douchbag in this story Laurel is. I really hated the way his teammates treated him and I felt terrible for the way he perceived hisself. When they finally meet in person and he realizes the lies Laurel told he doesn’t see her ever really liking him. He thinks she is to beautiful and out of his league, but by then she is really starting to like him. I really could not stand Gunderson and I almost went 3.5 stars just because of him. I really did like Rhett and Laurel though.
So far my favorite. I loved the complexity of this hero and heroine. So much fun to go along their journey to find love. Adorable.
Big subject with insufficient resolution
I loved the characters, Rhett & Laurel, they were dynamic and pulled me in, however, the underlying theme of this book seemed dismissed and mishandled.
Rhett is a nationally renowned college wrestler who is the victim of drastic hazing and incessant bullying. I’m sorry but this part of the plot was handled so poorly that I almost can’t forgive the author. If you don’t want to deal with a topic like this and give it resolution then don’t make it the theme…. him finally moving out and away from the biggest culprit is not dealing with the problem. Also, the fact that the two lead Heros from the previous books in the series were complicit to this tragedy is heartbreaking after falling for them in their stories!
This book was disappointing. The author has a talent and chose in this case to walk away from the resolution that was so necessary.
This book was just as good as the first two in this series. I enjoyed a new type of spin with this book, and I loved the characters. I can’t recommend this book, this author and this series enough. Another great read! And read this one twice as well.
I felt so bad for Rhett. His roommates are mean to him. I love Rhett. He is sexy and sweet and a wrestler. He thinks he is ugly so chicks are not on him like his other teammates. Laurel tricks him. He doesn’t think he deserves a girl like Laurel. So glad he finally noticed that she wants more than just friendship with him. I wanted him to go off on his roommates so bad but he is mr. nice guy! Highly recommend this book. I couldn’t put it down.
Rereading these by audio reminds why I liked them the first time around. I love Rhett & Laurel. I still am hating Rex. How did he redeem himself to me? Liked this one even more the 2nd time around.
Holy smokes I LOVE Rhett’s story! Freaking this series keeps getting better and better (& hoping for more)! A different take on being a douchebag and it was one that I had not expected.
The audio version of this book had me falling hard and even deeper for Rhett Rabideaux! I really enjoyed the narrators’ voices for this book. It was the perfect fit & one I had a really hard time turning off. Holy sweetness! Oh Rhett, sweet, sweet Rhett…
Rhett Rabideaux is the new guy that transferred to Iowa and fitting and being part of a team mid season has deem challenging. Not just proving himself worthy but also being pard of a team that has already been set. Having his teammates placing him in situations that has him proving his worth is something having him putting him out of his comfort zone.
Cue in Laurel Bishop. A goddess truly out of his league and one that gets under Rhett’s skin. Confused by his feelings to this woman (because he does not feel worthy of her) and their random encounters that come up.
Rhett and Laurel’s story was truly one for the books (for the eyes & sooo for the ears)! Two people opposite in many ways making their story filled with many angsty moments and challenges within each other and outside factors. It was filled with sexual tension, swoony words (Rhett you can talk French to me any time ) that will give you the tingles, and goosebumps in hopes for more. Oh Rhett, sweet, sweet Rhett. This read was LIT! Making this one my favorite book in the series.
Thanks to this series I’m becoming a real big fan of the whispersync feature in my kindle. The experience of putting voice to the dialogue while reading is brilliant and a fun way to enjoy your read. The narrators Muffy Newtown and Josh Goodman do a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life.
The Learning Hours was a great twist to the How to Date a Douchebag Series. It was totally unexpected and brilliantly done. In here the guy isn’t the douche. It’s actually the girl.
I gotta say I started this book not been a fan of the heroine. Laurel came across like a spoil, entitled DIVA. On the other hand Rhett Rabideaux couldn’t be more sweet, sexy and special. He definitely was an unicorn boyfriend. He is an amazing athlete, extraordinary student and had a heart of gold.
After Laurel got her head out of her pretty little behind, she finally saw the incredible man she had the opportunity to meet. After this two move past their initial bad beginning their chemistry was both endearing and of the chart incredible.
Seen them both fight their insecurities together and discover this love put a smile to my face. Love run skin deep with this two. You never should judge a book by its cover and both Rhett and Laurel learn this the hard way.

***4 Stars***
I know that the series is called “How to Date a Douchebag” and that should have been a huge Vegas sized neon blinky warning sign as to what I was probably going to be getting myself into, but DAMN! Even I had a few “seriously? WTF?” moments. Thankfully, they were balanced out by some sweet swoon worthy moments as well as great character growth by our main characters that kept me listening until the very end.
Rhett and Laurel. As much as I ended up liking both of them, they put me through the wringer. Rhett is simply that good guy. He’s a hard worker and is a rule follower, not because he’s a kiss ass, but because it’s the right thing to do. He is a bit naive and oblivious to what’s in front of him, though I couldn’t necessarily blame him for that, but his heart is so golden it’s hard to be anything more than annoyed with him for it. Laurel. Straight up, I wanted to smack her in the beginning. She wasn’t as huge of a douchebag as others in the book, but she definitely was on the road to joining up with them. Thankfully she had the errors of her ways smack her in the face and from there began to reconsider her stance on some her strongly held beliefs.
Their journey to their HEA was a bumpy one for so many reasons, some brought about by their own hand and others by external sources, that my eyes hurt from all the rolling they were doing BUT to watch as they not only grew to genuinely like each other, but also evolve individually was definitely worth it. And though it took one of them longer to take the blinders off, in the end they balanced each other out and I ended up liking who they were when they were together.
As for the narrators, Josh Goodman and Muffy Newton, this was my first listening experience with them and I enjoyed it. It took me a bit longer to get used to Ms. Newton’s voice versus Mr. Goodman’s, but once I did I found the cadence of their voices easy on my ears and liked how they brought the various characters and the myriad of emotions they go through to life and will definitely be putting them on my list of good to go narrators when I do my audiobook shopping in the future.
As this is my first foray into the How to Date a Douchebag world, as well as my first read by Sara Ney, I find myself in a bit of a weird limbo kind of place. I really did enjoy the story overall and how Rhett and Laurel grew as characters, but some of the stuff that Rhett gets put through as well as one particular secondary character was a bit much for even me. I totally get the reasons behind the why of their actions, and will admit that a few did help to push things forward, but instead of causing me to laugh out loud, they had me growling and wanting to gut the perpetrators with a spoon. Will I be picking up the first two books in the series? Yeah, I’ll give them both a go, I am quite curious about Zeke, so I’ll be diving back into this world again.

When a Sara Ney book gets released you put down everything you are doing or reading and devour her third instalment to the The Douchebag series because let’s be honest you know you won’t be disappointed and I was not if anything it blew me away.
I loved this story it was fresh and not like anything I have read in a long time. It was so refreshing for the main chick to be the hot one and the boy to be let’s say not attractive.
To be honest I didn’t like Laurel to begin with, I thought she was quite up her self and really quite self absorbed but as you got to know her you could understand why. She was hot but was used by all the guys she dated and no one really took her for anything but her looks. By the end I really thought this chick had some balls and I loved everything about her.
Rhett was funny, he was so clueless and I loved that about him, he was apparently not the hottest guy around campus but I really loved the message this book brought out and that’s to not judge a book by its cover it might be just what you are looking for. I loved how Rhett never changed he was clueless with females from the start to the finish of this book and loved how he was learning the female mind.
If your looking for a laugh and a fantastic story with fantastic writing then you need to get into this book and if you haven’t read the first 2 it’s a must you have to do it. There will be no disappointment. This book and series would have to be one of my favourites in 2017
A big huge massive 5 stars from for this book and series loved loved loved it.
