Lincoln Lawyer Mickey Haller is back in the heartstopping new thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Michael Connelly. Defense attorney Mickey Haller is pulled over by police, who find the body of a client in the trunk of his Lincoln. Haller is charged with murder and can’t make the exorbitant $5 million bail slapped on him by a vindictive judge. Mickey elects to defend himself and … vindictive judge.
Mickey elects to defend himself and must strategize and build his defense from his jail cell in the Twin Towers Correctional Center in downtown Los Angeles, all the while looking over his shoulder–as an officer of the court he is an instant target.
Mickey knows he’s been framed. Now, with the help of his trusted team, he has to figure out who has plotted to destroy his life and why. Then he has to go before a judge and jury and prove his innocence.
In his highest stakes case yet, Mickey Haller fights for his life and shows why he is “a worthy colleague of Atticus Finch…in the front of the pack in the legal thriller game” (Los Angeles Times).

if there was a zero rating, I’d give it.
If you are a Trump supporter, what he has to say about us in his novel is insulting and frustrating.
I couldn’t put it down, which always tells me I’m enjoying a book. The story was compelling and Mickey Haller is a great character. I finished it in two days. If you enjoy Connelly’s stories, you’ll love this one.
Two of my favourite characters come together again in The Law of Innocence; the Lincoln lawyer Mickey Haller and his half-brother ex-cop Harry Borch. Fascinating story with plenty to keep the reader flicking pages into the night. Cheers Lynda L. Lock (Isla Mujeres Mystery novels)
Loved this chapter in the life of “the Lincoln lawyer”. I couldn’t put it down. If the government can ignore problems like this to a lawyer imagine what they can do to the common man. Or won’t do.
Love the Lincoln Lawyer series.
Great book! I love Connolly’s books and this did not disappoint. Takes place during current times and we can relate to his feelings as to what’s going on in this world.
Always like Lincoln Lawyer stories even though they are totally left leaning!
The Lincoln Lawyer, Mickey Haller is accused of murder and decides to represent himself in court even though confined to jail. If he was framed, he doesn’t know who and meanwhile the prosecutor is determined to use the full extent of the law. As always, Michael Connelly fills the world with wonderful characters and you-are-there settings. Hard to put down.
One of Connelly’s best and I’ve read them all.
Haller is accused of murder and jailed. Everyone rallies around to help with his defense, including Bosch.
Bosch offers to help, but remains distant throughout.
Covid-19 shows up, and the impeachment of Trump.
Wasn’t really crazy about the ending, since Mickey will forever be under a cloud, but was nice to hear from all the old gang.
