This was a really interesting twist on this type of book. It kept me reading to the end.
Good read, one that I enjoyed more than I expected to. I might just have to check out the next in the series!
I really enjoyed this book
Good read
The book is a great take on an apocalyptic world. Her waking up in a pile of bodies was just a horrificly good way to start the story.
I thought it was a great read and want to read a sequel!
This book was interesting and exciting. The characters were well developed.
A well written take on the place of man and woman in todays world
I hate putting this book down to go to sleep! I usually read mysteries but this idea intrigued me. I highly recommend this book,
Faye wakes from a coma in the dark. She’s in a stadium full of dead bodies. She’s weak and dehydrated but she makes her way into a barren world. While in a comatose state, the world was besieged by an epidemic. During her journey to get home she saves a man locked in jail. Dodge and Faye head to her house and gather supplies from her neighborhood.
This book was so good I didn’t want it to end. The characters have flaws like we all do. I couldn’t help but wonder what I would do in their situation. As Faye and Dodge prepare to head south for winter, they run into others along the way. Each character tugged at my heart.
I’ve enjoyed this author’s books before but this was the best! Can’t wait for the next one!
Didn’t want it to end!
It kept my interest. It was a different take on the end of the world story line. I wish the ending was more complete. So many of these stories end somewhat abruptly to lead into the next book. If the story is good enough people will still want to read the next book.
A bit log a cliff hanger.
This was an interesting new twist on the old end of the world apocalypse theme. It held my tension through both books.
The author keeps getting better and better in her writings. I think Frank is going to get a run for his money from Dodge as my favorite hero. New twist great details
Didn’t say book one of a series.
Good. First in a series, but I did not purchase the follow-up
I am now a Druga fan. I just wish she wrote in other genres. I don’t care much for post-apocalyptic fiction, and I really do not like multi-volume stories. However, the writing here is excellent, and the characters developed so well that one cares about them very much right away. I enjoyed the writing so much I have started reading another of her stories already. Yes, this was an intro volume for a series, and my bias will keep me from going into the following books, but this was good and I hated to come to the end of it. It has re-awakened my interest in trying different authors.
I enjoyed this book.
Not quite biblical, however it was thought provoking.
