“Funny, witty, bittersweet, a fantastic end to this addictive series.” Penny Reid, New York Times Bestselling AuthorThe Last Wingman is a standalone enemies to lovers romance.Jonah Kingston is the last wingman standing.June Moxee doesn’t care if he’s the last man on earth.I haven’t exactly avoided relationships, but love has never been a priority. Solitude doesn’t bother me and being alone … Solitude doesn’t bother me and being alone doesn’t mean being lonely. Until she moved to the island and I had to reconsider everything.
June seems content running her yarn shop, knitting with the local church ladies, and avoiding me. She’s a temptress in a hand-knit sweater. And for some reason, she’s not a fan of mine. It might be the tattoos. Or the beard. Or the fact that we’re polar opposites.
A woman has finally caught my attention. Too bad she thinks she hates me. Good thing I’m stubborn enough to try to change her mind.
The Last Wingman is a standalone, small town rom com in the Wingmen series. You do not have to read the previous books first to enjoy this book.
This book ends at 91%. There are two bonus chapters included from previous Wingmen books.

I wish i could give this book more than 5 stars because i loved it that much. When i started the Wingmen Series, I just knew that Jonah had a story to tell, little did I know it would be the one that touched me the most. He seemed to be the typical tattooed bad boy, but for many of us who have ink, those tattoos often tell the story of our lives. This was true in this case, it was his story and his armor. Watching June and Jonah’s story unfold was glorious. In the end, we are all sorted into the house that we truly belong in.
Jonah is the Last Wingman in Whidbey. He is very successful and a closet nerd. He has a past that is tainted by his father and is often judged on his looks and father’s doings than his soul. He is nothing like his father the grifter and con artist. He is a hot sexy man who may look like a bad boy, but is far from it. He is sweet and kind. He most defiantly is not a player.
June Moxee is the new girl in town. She owns the yarn shop and wears bright colored dresses. She keeps to herself and is not social at all. She hangs out with the old ladies in their knitting club and she dislikes Jonah.
Jonah has a crush on the mysterious June. He thinks she is gorgeous and the most interesting person. He quirks turn him on and he can’t figure out why she does not like him. But he is determined to win her over.
Even though this is book six in the series, it can be read as a standalone. I did not realize it was a series till I started writing this review. So yes it can be read as a standalone. I did not feel lost at all. This book was a great read. I found Jonah and June very intriguing. A slow going romance, but filled with unusual quirks.
The characters in this book are odd ducks in a small pond. Jonah is a bit of a loner, as is June. Jonah looks like a hot sexy bad boy with his piercings and tattoos. He likes to keep to himself. June does too. June is quirky, smart and beautiful. Together they make an odd pair. But it works. They have a lot in common.
It was a sweet story. June and Jonah take their time getting to know each other. And show sides to themselves that no one gets to see. They have amazing chemistry. Their story makes me want go back to the beginning and read the rest of the gangs story.
Overall this book is a sweet witty romance. It has lovable characters. It is a slow and steady build up with a beautiful ending. If you are not a Daisy Prescott fan now, you will be one after you read this book.
I liked that their love was slow to build, always an obstacle (it’s a romance!) and the quietness of it all was really appreciated.
Fun and interesting, can’t wait to read the next one to come out
Gah I love Daisy’s books. Every one I read just gets better and better and this one sure was amazing. This is the very last wingman novel and I’m so sad that such a great series is finished.
I have a huge amount of love over this book being in Jonah’s POV, I absolutely enjoy a male’s POV throughout a story instead of it being the woman. It’s different, it’s fun and I absolutely love that man.
Jonas is an amazing man. He’s covered in tattoos and piercing’s and loves a good business adventure. He’s constantly judged by the way he looks but doesn’t really mind until a certain someone comes around all judgey. He’ll do anything to show her just how wrong she really is about him. June annoyed me at the start with her nose stuck in the air and judging him without knowing Jim properly.
Watching their relationship or whatever you want to call it grow was so much fun. I loved that Jonah proved she was wrong, I love that he’s deep and caring and not easily pushed away. He’s one of my favourite men and I’m so sad this book is over.
Also, love love LOVE the Harry Potter loving in this beauty, we all love some Harry Potter.
I’m a huge fan of Daisy Prescott and her books. She always delivers a story that captivates toy from the begging to the end. The Last Wingman was fun, adorable and interesting to read. I do enjoy a book that goes from dislike to love. My favourite kind.
A fantastic, hilarious, charming, addictive read that had us smiling from start to finish! We simply adored The Last Wingman!
The Last Wingman (Wingmen Book 6)
I enjoy Daisy Prescott’s books, and was given the opportunity by the author to read this last book in the series. I hadn’t read books 3-5 yet and I wish I had, because I probably would have had a better idea of what was going on and the history of the families of Whidbey Island. That being said, I did enjoy this story; the quirkiness of June and the bearded manly/nerdy combo that was Jonah. Having not read the middle three books in the series, this didn’t feel like an ending to me, and I’m looking forward to reading them.
I am so sad that this is the last Whidbey book. I found Daisy Prescott with the very first one about John and Geoducks are for Lovers, and have been the biggest fan ever since. I LOVE these books and knowing this was the last one was bittersweet for me. Loved Jonah and June’s story as well as visiting with all the other regulars. I am so going to miss this series, but thank you for a series of wonderful quirky characters and their stories.
I am sad to see this series end, but the author hit another home run with Jonah’s book. Light, sexy, sweet, funny, and completely heartfelt. Jonah’s determination and persistence was refreshing to see.
This is such a great book, and I am such a huge fan of this author. If you’re looking for a feel good romance, this is a must read!!!!
A perfect ending to a perfect series! *cries all the tears*
Anyone who knows me, knows I’m a huge fan of Daisy Prescott and her Wingmen books are some of my favorites. The Last Wingman is no exception, in fact, it is now my favorite of the series. Sorry, John, you’ll always be my first love, but Jonah has taken the top spot. 🙂
Jonah is everything. He’s life. And I love him. He’s a good guy with a bad boy exterior. What’s more perfect than that? Nothing, the answer is nothing.
June is sweet and sassy. She’s made some bad choices in the past, which causes her to be a bit closed off in an attempt to protect herself. But she’s no match for Jonah’s charm.
This is a slow burn of the best kind. We really get to see the relationship between Jonah and June build. It’s a bit rocky at times, but it’s also beautiful. Watching two closed off people open up for each other is wonderful.
We get to see ALL of the other Wingmen in this book and it was perfection. It was a perfect way to close out the series. I’m sad because these books have been a part of my life for the last 6 years, but I’m also happy because all my favorite guys have gotten their HEA’s.
As with all of Daisy’s books, this one is full of heart and humor with minimal angst. If you haven’t read this series yet, I HIGHLY recommend you do so. They are amazing, all of them.
If you like your romances nice and slow, this is the perfect book for you. This isn’t the kind of love story that jumps right in with the heat. this one establishes a solid foundation of love/hate trivia nights and Airstreams before diving in to the “good stuff”. Jonah and June are such a sweet couple. Both are content in their lives and aren’t looking for romance, which makes their story even more sweet. By Jonah’s description you would think he is the ultimate bad boy. Tattooed and pierced, he fits the description to a T. But nothing could be further from the truth. Jonah is the quintessential Don’t Judge a Book By the Cover, cover model. At times I had to laugh that a guy so in tune with himself and those around him could be so clueless about how to act around June. It made him even more endearing. It just goes to show, that guys aren’t mind readers and it takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there and take a chance on someone who couldn’t care less if you even existed when you first met.June was one I wish we had gotten more inside her head. I would have loved to have known exactly what she was thinking when Jonah found her in the woods, or been with her while she made fairy doors. She is complicatingly whimsical…that is the only phrase I can think of that fits her. She feels deeply, isn’t afraid to venture on her own and forge her own path, yet has a vulnerability about her that only adds to her moxy.Overall, I really liked Jonah and June’s story and I cannot believe I came in so late to the Wingman world. Daisy’s storytelling is refreshing and I cannot wait to read more of her
I really loved this one, its a fitting ending to one of my favorite series by Daisy Prescott. I simply adore June and Jonah! Even though its only told from Jonah’s perspective, you get to sense how June is as a person simply by their interaction with one another. AND who could ever predict that Trivia Night could be a great courtship scenario! If you’ve never read any of the books in the series, this is a wonderful way of getting pulled in because overall these characters are amazing!
The Last Wingman maybe the last but I’m hoping this won’t be the last I read of the characters.
***Actual rating: 3/5 just-okay Stars***
Lessons learnt: Always double check the background settings and characters’ features before diving in a standalone from part of a series.
The Last Wingman is a standalone contemporary romance novel in the Wingmen series, each instalment featuring a different main character’s love life. Honestly, I didn’t pay as much attention to this book as I planned because I made a mistake for not doing enough background research before picking this up. In other words, the overall story setting and character development weren’t what I had in mind when reading the synopsis; hence, I ended up not really enjoying the story. In order not to mislead any of you, I’d like to state that the following opinions are my own and they’re based on my personal preference of a contemporary story. There’s nothing wrong or poorly-written about the book at all.
The reason I wasn’t fully fond of the story was mainly because of the male protagonist, Jonah. He was a 35-year-old single, heavily-tattooed/pierced, and beardy guy living on an island most of his life. This image of a potential love interest was clearly not whom I’d pictured. Don’t get me wrong, Jonah was still a lovely, considerate, sweet guy in the book, and his romantic development with June was beyond adorable on so many levels. It was just that I found it hard to immerse myself in their love story with such an unattractive picture in mind. Thus, I pretty much stopped actually-reading the book when I was about a few chapters in.
Despite my personal dislike for the male character, I’d still recommend this book to those who love a light romantic read! Hopefully you’ll have a better time with Jonah and June on a beautiful island!

My Review:
I was largely unfamiliar with the Wingman set yet I smirked my way through this last and end of an era volume to what appears to be a cleverly amusing rom/com series. Reading the finale had me coveting the previous installments as their small-town appears to be populated by a large sector of the quirkiest citizens living in the free world. Written from a first person POV of Jonah, a heavily tattooed, pierced, and bearded man in black who was adorable, unexpectedly sweet, and thoughtfully insightful. His crush on the prickly yet vividly colorful June was delightfully narrated in his inner musings. I enjoyed the witty levity, endearingly awkward main characters, frequent Harry Potter references, and engaging storylines. I’m a smitten kitten for the Wingmen.
There’s something about never judge a book by its cover same goes with people. Jonah Kingston is nothing like what June thinks he is. By all appearances he is bad for her yet also good in many ways. Living in a small town has its advantages like being alone amd noticeable. Readers one thing about Daisy Prescott Wingmen series is believe in the unexpected. I liked that Jonah is a man who gets he wants even if it means playing hardball. Now June was like a butterfly shy at first then with Jonah she blossoms into something beautiful before her own eyes. This is one series where each character is back and we see more of what they been up to in a way that Daisy Prescott brings easily to life.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
So don’t stone me when I tell you this but, The Last Wingman is the first Wingmen book I have read! *GASP*! I know, I know…or at least I know now! Don’t ask me why, I have not excuse, I just have a lot of regret for having missed out on all this sweetness for so long, but I also have a lot of joy knowing I now get to go back and start at the beginning and experience this series for the very first time.
I was afraid at the start of this book that I wasn’t going to like it, not because the story didn’t seem like it was going to be good but because it felt so slow, but you know what, in the end it is the slow burn that makes this book so much more enjoyable. I loved that Jonah and June take there time learning each other. I love that June comes in with preconceived notions that are totally wrong, I love that there is this blend of Pride and Prejudice and Beauty and the Beast to the feel of the back and forth with this couple as they navigate each other. I just plain love the all around sweet feel to this book. It’s a slow and steady pace that makes you wish you could head out into the woods, set up your tent, light a campfire, warm some hot cocoa, and roast some marshmallows as you read. I need some early summer nights of camping in my life right now!
One of my absolute favorite things about this book and I am kind of hoping I will see it in the previous ones as well when I go back, all the literary references! Watership Down makes an appearance, (my 13 year old was ecstatic about this fact!) lots of fantastic Harry Potter references, Ravenclaw for the win, be still my nerdy heart! Which brings be to something else I loved. Jonah! I could release with him on so many levels, a bit ‘long in the tooth’, tattooed, pierced, (though no gauges for me) Ravenclaw, love to play dress up, in general an odd little nerd! To me there was just so much to love about him, his patience, his sweentness, his little pervy side. He is the total do not judge a book by it’s cover package and I could’t get enough of him. It took me a while to warm up to June because she comes in so judgmental in the beginning but by the end she had me swooning too!
I can’t say that this is the perfect end to the series since I haven’t read the other books but I can say it is a great read and I can’t wait to dive into the 5 previous books now. Get this one on your TBR and just get ready for a perfectly wonderful time and if you can read it while out enjoying all that nature has to offer more the better!

I’m sad that this is the end, but the author gave it the ending it deserved!! I loved Jonah, but it took me a little time to warm up to the heroine, I loved their chemistry and their funny banter for sure!
Loved. Loved. Loved. Loved The Last Wingman! It is a gloriously final course to Daisy Prescott’s Wingmen Series. If you haven’t made the journey through these wonderful books, you are missing an amazing collection of stories. Through her words, Daisy is an extraordinary tour guide, letting her readers experience the beauty of her beloved Pacific Northwest, through they of her characters. If I close my eyes, I can just smell the salt air with with hints of garlic knots…
Jonah Kingston has been elusive throughout the series, but here we get to know him. Really, really know him. He’s more than the hipstery coffee guy with his body a canvas of ink. He is a man who loves his community, poetry and pinball. Even beyond that he has a heart that is bigger and kinder than anyone could imagine. I absolutely adored him.
At first blush, June Moxee, the proprietress of a yarn shop is the island sweetheart in the making. But like Jonah, but beneath her lovely dresses, fabulous glasses and delightful puns is a complex woman who has so much to give.
Together they are as magical as the place that they call home. With more stops than starts, Jonah and June’s road to HEA has some bumps, as they are on the island. With each turn, I fell harder and harder for not only this couple but everyone around them.
I am not sad that this is the final book, I am happy to have experienced all these characters. I can say without a doubt each one of the books in the Wingmen series has a very special place in my heart. I know that whenever I need to take a trip to the PNW, I have the power to do so at my fingertips. That’s the beauty of reading, friends.
Happy reading.

The last book in what will ALWAYS be one of my favorite series!! I ALWAYS look forward to EVERYTHING that Daisy Prescott writes! She tells a great story, has an AMAZING sense of humor, & I SWOON for each & everyone of her male suitors!
This book was a great read & SO hard to put down! I really LOVED the love story of Jonah & June. It’s not a insta-love at all for these two….in fact June fought it completely!!LOL On the surface it might look like they don’t have much in common…..but as you dig in the story more, you find these two have more in common than you think. And in the end they turn out to be PERFECT for each other. I truly enjoyed this couple’s story and Daisy is so FANTASTIC at coming up with such unique & fun story lines. I never am ready for her books to end!! I recommend this read to ALL!!
***I received an ebook copy from the author at no cost***
This is a bittersweet review to write, because I love this series and I’m so sad it’s coming to a close!
Jonah and June are quite the pair. June tries to keep her distance from Jonah, citing their being polar opposites as the reason, but she quickly finds out that it’s not right to judge a book by its cover. These two did this terrific dance around one another that was both comical and, truthfully, annoying at times. I wanted to reach inside the book and shake them both sometimes because they’re so freaking perfect for each other.
I love Jonah. He’s his own person, he marches to a drum nobody else does, and he’s got such an amazing personality. He’s funny, determined, and he cares and gives back to his community. Honestly, I don’t think Prescott could have given us a more perfect book boyfriend with this one. I love how he persisted in getting to know June, even when there’s no indication that she feels the same way.
I liked June a lot too, but she did get on my nerves a little. The whole judgy thing doesn’t sit well with me, but she redeemed herself and the more I got to know her as a character, the more I enjoyed her. Plus she makes Jonah happy and hey, that makes us readers happy too!
This book has everything that I’ve come to know I can count on in a Prescott novel: friendship, comical moments, times when I thought my heart was going to flutter right out of my chest, and a plot that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside long after reading.
My favorite thing about the wingmen books (aside from the men themselves) has always been the world that Prescott created on Whidbey Island. This is easily one of the best worlds I’ve ever read. There’s this relatively small, tight-knit community that just feels like home to read about. Prescott writes so good that I literally felt like I was walking the streets of Whidbey. The cast of characters is amazing. Each one has his/her quirks and plays a role in the big scheme of things. Secondary characters are just as important as the primary ones. And having read the whole series, I knew the history behind the different characters and how they fit into the puzzle. This book can be read as a standalone, but I would suggest going back to the beginning and starting there. This series is so good, you don’t want to miss out.
It pains me to bid farewell to these guys, but I am looking forward to seeing what Daisy cooks up for us next!
Five stars to this novel!
