“Funny, witty, bittersweet, a fantastic end to this addictive series.” Penny Reid, New York Times Bestselling AuthorThe Last Wingman is a standalone enemies to lovers romance.Jonah Kingston is the last wingman standing.June Moxee doesn’t care if he’s the last man on earth.I haven’t exactly avoided relationships, but love has never been a priority. Solitude doesn’t bother me and being alone … Solitude doesn’t bother me and being alone doesn’t mean being lonely. Until she moved to the island and I had to reconsider everything.
June seems content running her yarn shop, knitting with the local church ladies, and avoiding me. She’s a temptress in a hand-knit sweater. And for some reason, she’s not a fan of mine. It might be the tattoos. Or the beard. Or the fact that we’re polar opposites.
A woman has finally caught my attention. Too bad she thinks she hates me. Good thing I’m stubborn enough to try to change her mind.
The Last Wingman is a standalone, small town rom com in the Wingmen series. You do not have to read the previous books first to enjoy this book.
This book ends at 91%. There are two bonus chapters included from previous Wingmen books.

Can I say it’s a bittersweet review? I read my first Wingman book, Ready to fall, in 2015 e after that I was always waiting for the next release. I’ve laughed with them, celebrated every new relationship, every birth, every milestone. And I was always waiting for Jonah’s book. Daisy delivered a fantastic end to this series, with heartfelt words and great characters, we had time to see almost everyone and to see a bright future ahead for our beloved place. I loved every bit of it!
I’m so sad that this it the last book in the Wingman Series, but it couldn’t have ended on a better book. It was full of all the usual cast members, lots of feels, and plenty of laughs.
I LOVED LOVED LOVED Jonah. I loved everything about him. I loved him being a Potterhead, his love for vintage stuff and style, trivia, coffee, tattoos, his generosity… I loved it all. I could wax poetic about him this entire review. He was THAT good.
June… I had to warm up to her. I loved her whimsicality, love of vintage style, ever-changing frames, trivia, and puns, but she was a little too judgmental of my boy at the beginning. I did end up loving her though because she and Jonah just fit.
So, if you haven’t read the series yet, go back and start at the beginning. It has made me want to move to Whidbey Island, and I’m a born and bred Texan. You won’t be sorry!
5 Stars!
3.5 “I can knit too, Jonah” Stars
Let me begin this review by saying I’ve only read the first book in this series. I know, I know… but it wasn’t hard at all following who was who, so The Last Wingman is absolutely readable as a standalone. Even more, you’ll just want to read all the couples’ stories after you’re done.
The second thing I’m going to say is that I utterly loved Jonah. He was the epitome of FINE. With tattoos, piercings and general bad boy appearance, his inner geekiness made it the perfect combination. Add to it his heart of gold and you have one of the sweetest, most adorkable book-boyfriends of all times.
Unfortunately, I spent the first half of the book hoping that Jonah would find another girl as I felt June really didn’t deserve his adorkable awesomeness. Prejudiced characters are a pet peeve for me. So, when a character is again and again swayed by his or her preconceived notions without taking once the time to check if their view is actually accurate… well, let’s just say it doesn’t make me a happy camper. June starts off as such one character. Time and again her interactions with Jonah are colored by her completely inaccurate assumptions of what type of person he is.
Eventually, she does realize she’s not being fair and opens herself to actually get to know Jonah. After her attitude adjustment, I began to enjoy her quirky nature and penchant for knitting puns. She could be funny and sweet, and I really enjoyed seeing them connect.
Once we get a bit of backstory as to June’s reasons behind her behavior, I started to root for them to make it. But then the whole “fight” debacle happened, and I felt it was completely OTT and absurd… and I was back to the “she-doesn’t-deserve-him” camp.
I’d say The Last Wingman is a slow burn romance for sure. It’s sweet, has some steam and I really loved Jonah from start to finish, and as the whole book is in his PoV there was lots to love! In the end, I enjoyed Jonah’s and June’s story, mainly because Jonah was absolute perfection and June made him happy.

The gloves come off as the heart has it’s say. The Last Wingman proved bittersweet for me. Daisy Prescott had me laughing my way through the entire Wingmen series. These characters became like family and I am sad to see them go. Despite her saving the best for last, June and Jonah add their own spice to the equation with a funny, feisty and irresistible battle of hearts.
I’m so incredibly heartbroken that this is the last Wingan novel, but I’m so glad it ended with Jonah, I always though of Jonah as a bit of a mystery, I was right!
The “courtship” between Jonah and June, is sweet, awkward and hot, but with a fresh feeling. Jonah is different from all the other Wingman, I think he might be my favorite (shhh dont tell Dan).
I loved getting to know Jonah more, and June was incredable.
A beautiful end to an amazing series.
I’m going to miss Whidbey, Thank you for this journey Daisy.
I love Daisy Prescott’s quirky, unique sense of humor and have thoroughly enjoyed every installment in the Wingmen series. This is the sixth and final book in the series, and although I am sad to say goodbye to this eclectic cast of memorable characters and fun setting, the series is ending on a high note with The Last Wingman.
Based on their physical appearances, Noah and June are complete opposites. He wears almost only black and has piercings and tattoos, while she dresses in vibrantly colored clothes with an eccentric flare. They’re both small business owners on the island of Whidbey, Washington, and they both don’t get close to people easily. They don’t get along when they first meet, but Jonah quickly develops a crush on June and hopes to soften her feelings toward him. He’s both adorable and sexy as he quietly pursues her and shows her the man behind his rough exterior, and he might be my favorite of all Prescott’s Wingman but don’t make me choose. He and June’s courtship is leisurely-paced and absolutely heartwarming, and you cannot walk away from this book without feeling entertained and satisfied. Also, how adorable is this cover?
ARC provided, but this review was voluntarily and honestly written.
I have fallen in love with all of The Wingman Series from Daisy Prescott. She is a phenomenal story teller. I am sad to see this series end and may have to start all over, yes they are all that good. Daisy did not disappoint! Thank you for lending us all of the amazing characters you had stored in your mind!
And the last wingman falls — how very satisfying! Jonah has been a background character in this series, and I was really looking forward to getting to know him. Up to this point, I only knew superficial things about him. And that is the point of this whole book. We know superficial things about the people we see and meet, but we think that we can size them up based on looks or clothes or a one-minute interaction.
Jonah has been dealing with this for his whole life. He admits that he has always been an outsider and observer. Events beyond Jonah’s control reinforced his personality. Now he is friendly but a loner. His friends have paired off and are having babies, but he knows that will never happen for him.
He is surprised by his attraction to June. He says that they are “opposite ends of the spectrum.” That’s obvious just from the few things he knows about her. June agrees with this assessment. But as they begin to spend time together, they surprise each other several times. Some surprises are more pleasant than others, but they finally realize that they complement each other perfectly.
Finally Jonah’s story. Jonah has always been content to be alone. Meeting June has made him change his way of thinking. Now to convince June to take a chance on him. So sad for this series to end but so loved Jonah and June’s story!
Jonah and June.. this book is just so good. Both of these characters deserve happiness and I’m so glad they find it with each other. It’s so sad to say goodbye to Whidbey and all of the characters that feel like friends now but, what a way to say goodbye. This story is a perfect ending for one of my all time favorite series. Daisy, thank you for building this world on Whidbey where we’ve all been able to feel like part of this precious town.
The Last Wingman is the last book in Daisy Prescott’s series and it’s absolutely bittersweet. Getting to know all these incredible characters that live on Whidbey Island will truly be missed.
We have waited to see our last Wingman get his story and Jonah & June is the cherry on top of the sundae.
Jonah Kingston is a man that definitely has the looks can be deceiving vibe but what’s underneath is more than you can ever have expected. A successful businessman, a closet nerd & Potterhead, and a man who has a heart bigger then you would ever expect.
June Moxee is quirky in her own way. She owns the local yarn shop, participates in a knitting circle with the church ladies, plays trivia every week and keeps to herself but she also has a total misunderstanding of who Jonah is.
When they both decide to stop circling one another and become more you can’t help see how they have more in common then not and give in to the chemistry. You can’t help but cheer them on and hope they can find that HEA and become another happy couple on Whidbey Island
