My father has been kidnapped by my worst enemies.Either that, or he willingly sold me out to them.Whatever the case, I’m going to find him. Mind you, this would be a lot easier if every Fae in Chicago wasn’t already out for my blood. They’re not getting it, though. The only one who’s getting anywhere near my blood is the seven-hundred-year-old vampire who saved me. Yes, there are times when I’m … me. Yes, there are times when I’m convinced he’s not quite right in the head, but so far he’s the only supernatural being I’ve met who sees me as a person rather than a chess piece.
To the rest of them, I’m nothing more than the walking, talking evidence of a war crime. To him, I’m something else. He calls me a loose thread in the tapestry of his forgotten past, but he looks at me like I might be the key to his future.
The rest of them tell me I’m demonkin. They say I’m a succubus-human hybrid who shouldn’t exist.
One thing is very clear, though. My father is carrying a secret bigger than I ever dreamed, and I’m damn well going to pry it out of him.
I just have to get him back from the Fae first.
Because, hey—what could possibly go wrong?

The Last Vampire: Book Two
By: R.A. Steffan, Jaelynn Woolf
Narrated by: Gwendolyn Druyor
Series: The Last Vampire, Book 2
R.A. Stefan & Jaelyn Woolf continues bring it to this great series. They take you further into the imaginative world they created with even more fascinating & interesting storylines with a lot of drama, action, twists and so steamy romance between the two leads. It is great to learn more about Zorah and Rans, as well as the dynamics of their world. I am looking forward to the next book to see what happens next. I thank the authors for this great story!
I listened to the Audible edition, Gwendolyn Druyor delivers another wonderful performance. She is a talented storyteller, sets the perfect tone for the story and adds the right amount of dramatic flair. She enhances an already great book to the next level. Thank you for another great & entertaining listen!
Flock review. This book is even better than the first, Ran and Zorah story picks up where book one left, and it gets way interesting. The storyline continues and the pace picks up, more action, and definitely more things going on. The audiobook definitely is an option, the narrator is the same as book one, Gwendolyn Druyor and she does a fantastic job narrating all characters, I would suggest the audiobook more than the book.
This is the second book in the series and I liked it better. As I said in the review of the first book, this is the first time I have read this team. I am an RA Steffans fan so it was a little different for me. This book moves along better and has more of the familiar wit of Steffans that I enjoy so much. I await the third book and the conclusion of the series. I like the premise and the storyline so it will be fun to see if I have guessed the ending right. Enjoy but definitely read it in order.
I enjoyed this second installment and look forward to the next book, BUT I gotta say I sure HATE cliffhangers. These stories are well written and have great character and world building. Would like to see it told from both mains POV.
Still enjoying the overall premise of this series; evil fae after Zorah, Zorah finding herself still being quite the novice on the paranormal world, and some good steam with Rans! In this book, Zorah is really worried about her father, who might possibly be against her, and about using Rans for his sexual energy due to her succubus nature. Still lots of danger going on in this one! Rans tries to help Zorah out, but unfortunately, Zorah’s actions tend towards the not so smart variety. She doesn’t plan, she just acts, which leads to many more problems for her. Zorah can be annoying, but I do appreciate that she has a good heart and is willing to go above and beyond for those she cares about. Another cliffhanger ending for this one, so you’ll need to continue on with the next books. Zorah has many problems to deal with. Still interested to see where she ends up!
This review is for the audio book.
Once you got the sex scenes out of the way (Well the main character is a succubus/human), I enjoyed this story, I don’t think it was as action packed as the first book but it still has me wanting to get book three to find out what happens next. The story takes up were the last book left off (I don’t think you need to have read or listened to the first book but it helps so I would recommend you do.) Zorah must decide the best way to save her human father from the Fae. She has only just found out the truth about being part demon and part human, up until last week she didn’t even know demons existed let alone magic. Now she has to go up against the Fae, can she go it alone or will she turn to Rans the last Vampire in the world for help.
The narrator (Gwendolyn) is one of my favourite readers and I have never listened to a book and not enjoyed it if she is reading it. She puts so much energy, emotion and range into each character that they easily come to life.
Action packed book two of The Last Vampire series. This book builds on what was presented in the first book, so I’d recommend reading/listening to that book first. There are some pretty steamy scenes, but what do you expect from a part succubus.
Very interesting storyline with a great narration by Gwendolyn Druyor.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
I don’t throw tantrums very often…but I definitely threw one when I reached for book three and realized it wasn’t there! It’s hard to get me to walk away from writing my own stories and this book definitely succeeded in that, hands down.
