“Will keep you up. In a ‘can’t put it down’ way. It’s ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley’ with XX chromosomes.”—The Skimm
“Deliciously duplicitous. . . . equally as twisty, spellbinding, and addictive as Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl or Paula Hawkins’s The Girl on the Train.”—Library Journal (starred review)
Amber Patterson is fed up. She’s tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more—a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted.
To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne—a socialite and philanthropist—and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale.
Amber’s envy could eat her alive . . . if she didn’t have a plan. Amber uses Daphne’s compassion and caring to insinuate herself into the family’s life—the first step in a meticulous scheme to undermine her. Before long, Amber is Daphne’s closest confidante, traveling to Europe with the Parrishes and their lovely young daughters, and growing closer to Jackson. But a skeleton from her past may undermine everything that Amber has worked towards, and if it is discovered, her well-laid plan may fall to pieces.
With shocking turns and dark secrets that will keep you guessing until the very end, The Last Mrs. Parrish is a fresh, juicy, and utterly addictive thriller from a diabolically imaginative talent.

Filled with envy, deception, and power, it’s a great reading escape. And there is a thrilling twist at the end!
A wonderfully clever story, filled with suspense and a shocking twist, that kept me turning the pages.
This was almost a DNF for me, as I was wondering how it could possibly be constructed the way that it was. But thankfully, I have a stubborn streak that rarely puts books down unfinished and I’m so glad that was the case here. At one point in the book, the things I’d been most frustrated by took on brand new meaning and formed the whole story. I found it, ultimately, to be a page-turner, most deserving of its hype.
I’ve been gobbling up psychological thrillers recently (especially on audio!) and this was one that felt fresh and was full of surprises.
Daphne and Jackson Parrish seem like the perfect couple — wealthy, philanthropic, and totally in love. Amber thinks Daphne doesn’t appreciate everything she has and slowly manipulates her way into their lives. But of course nothing is as it seems…
I really loved so many parts of this story and it’s hard to talk about more without giving away spoilers, so I’ll just say that I definitely recommend this!
For me, the storyline of THE LAST MRS. PARRISH by Liv Constantine beautifully portrays the epitome of comeuppance. Engaging and addictive, I couldn’t put it down. I wanted to see what would happen to who and was thrilled with the outcome!
You need to put aside some serious time to read this book (it’s 400 pages), but the payoff comes in the end. I enjoyed the pure evilness of the characters, although some people might find them too over-the-top to enjoy them. (My daughters said they made her stomach hurt.)
I respected The Last Mrs. Parrish because it was so thoroughly plotted. A lot of time, effort and sweat obviously went into this one.
When Amber decides being rich is better, she finds out that what looks like a perfect life…isn’t.
Highly entertaining women’s fiction. A great read for those times when you just want to lose yourself in a good story!
A fun, dark, dramatic ride with a satisfying finale.
Wow. I love how authors like writing duo: Liv Constantine can create a world where nothing is as it seems. I quickly realized the basics of what was going on in The Last Mrs. Parrish but I certainly wasn’t prepared for the intensity of it nor how it all played out in the end. Although somewhat satisfying, there is no happily ever after for anyone in this book. A thriller that holds a few surprises for even the most suspecting readers. Check it out.
I received this book in my PageHabit mystery box, and it was also Reese Witherspoon’s December read for Hello Sunshine. So it was meant for me to read this wonderful book!
Within minutes after diving into this book, I was hooked. I didn’t know which end was up and which end was down. I fell in love and hate with the characters accordingly, or so I thought.
I did see one of the major twists coming, but that didn’t lessen the blow. Liv delivered that blow in the most glorious way! I was hooked and didn’t want the book to end.
I highly recommend this book no matter what your reading preference. This book deserves all of the praise!
A fast-paced read that’s truly unforgettable. Love the twist at the end!
I can honestly say that this is the best book I’ve read this year. I was hooked from the first word.
The world of ultra wealth becomes boring after a while as does the predictable plot, but the writing is easy to read and the characters’ motivations come through clearly and nearly credibly. This one reads a lot like The Wife Between Us. Two unreliable narrators outdo each other when it comes to deception. Most readers will see the end coming …
A Fun quick read.
An excellent psychological piece of fiction. The dual view points add meat to the story. The twist set me back on my heels.
Absolutely loved this book! I read a lot of psychological suspense and this is one of the best I’ve read! Highly recommend! A great summer read!
I read this book in a couple of days, every chance I could get. I totally escaped. It was awful! And it was so good! It was definitely, absolutely five stars, so good I had to see what else these ladies have written…bc I was ready to see what else they have…but they’re still working on it, and I’m so glad. I have already put them on my to-read list. This was the best book I’ve read in a while. If you liked “It’s Always the Husand” or any of B.A. Paris’s books, you’ll like this. If you like Liane Moriarty, I totally believe you’ll like this…a LOT! I was already recommending it to my friend and I wasn’t even to Part II yet. I loved how it was written in the three parts, and I also really loved the ending!
One of my new fav books! I was seething during Part 1 and during Part 2 I was laughing and smiling and thinking ‘“BAM SUCKA!!”. Such a great book!
This book held my attention long after I finished reading it. I would stay up and then read again in the morning! I have recommended it to numerous friends/family as it’s just that good. The plot is always evolving but not how you anticipate-its just way better. You are constantly surprised until the end. Awesome writing!!
simple yet compelling — and what a stunner of a cover
