“The best and only way to kick off summer, devouring The Last Guy and then doing it all over again because it’s just that good.” ~#1NYT Bestselling Author Rachel Van DykenFrom Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills and international bestselling author Tia Louise…The first rule of office romance is don’t do it–especially if your dream is to hold the anchor spot on the nightly … dream is to hold the anchor spot on the nightly news and your boss is trying to get you fired.

Sex in his office…
Sex in the on-set kitchen…
Sex in the supply closet…
She can’t stop thinking about the former NFL quarterback and how perfect he’d look between her sheets–except he’s an arrogant jerk with a huge… ego.
He’s the last guy she’d ever have a one-night stand with.
Cade Hill draws a thick professional line on office romance–until it comes to the hyper-focused Rebecca. He wants her, and he gets his wish when a chance encounter has them having the hottest sex of their lives.
It’s just a hook-up, she says.
When can we do it again? he says.
With Rebecca determined to keep Cade in the friend zone, it’s going to be an uphill battle for Cade to convince her he’s the last guy she’ll ever want.

What can you say about a book, where two amazing writers, take you on a funny and romantic ride? Not a bad thing. I loved this book so much. It made me laugh, cry, get mad and laugh some more. Took me awhile to like Cade, but when I did, he was dreamy. Him and Stone (Rebecca) together were a good choice. They were definitely opposites of each other, but brought out the best in each other. One of my favorite books that I’ve read in a long time. Fantastic read that I definitely recommend everyone giving it a shot!
This powerhouse duo came up with a remarkably fresh turn on a favorite trope. These enemies to lovers will make you laugh and get your blood pumping!
Damn, when Tia Louise and Ilsa Madden-Mills get together and decide to write a story, what they come up with is hot! Rebecca “Stone” Fieldstone is a 28-year old reporter at KHOT in Houston. She’s gunning for the anchor position at her news station, and she’s going to make sure she gets it. She should, she’s got the experience and the know how. But, Marv, the news director, might have someone else in mind, someone younger with a brain the size of a pea, but big boobs and the willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job. And then there’s Cade Hill, the sports director, “ex-NFL superstar, son of a millionaire, and infuriating as hell.” Cade may be infuriating, but he has a tight ass, wavy brown hair, steel-blue eyes and even though he drives her nuts, she’s been dreaming of doing naughty things with him since he started. But, he’s “the last guy I would ever let ruin my plans for stardom.”
When Stone and Cade slip into a taboo relationship, it’s sexy and sweet and both are falling, hard. Neither wants anything serious, though. For one, it could ruin her career. And Cade, he’s been seriously burned by an ex, so he’s commitment shy. Still, Stone just might be the one to cure him of his commitment phobia. And Cade might be the last guy to ever hold Stone’s heart, if they can make their way past all the obstacles in their path.
Tia Louise and Ilsa Madden-Mills make a fantastic writing duo. I can’t wait for more from the two of them because The Last Guy is sexy, sweet and witty and Cade makes me swoon. From his tight backside and his dirty ways in the bedroom to his sweet relationship with his brother, Trent (whom I adore!!), Cade is the perfect BBF. And Rebecca is the perfect foil for him with her uptight, intense focus on her career, but sweet, vulnerable heart. Tia and Ilsa have scored a game winning touchdown with The Last Guy!!
The Last Guy…
Well I wasn’t sure where I wanted to go with this review because as much as I loved this story. I can’t stop reading. So Cade Hill won’t be my last guy…but he’s probably ok with that. Since I’m older and not quite his type. Lol!
Cade Hill would definitely be my type. Hot, gorgeous…did I mention Hot? Ok, so he is a hot ex NFL quarterback with an as$ that would make anyone want to bite it. (That’s totally a thing!) But well, he’s too pretty and too cocky and…Enough excuses!
The truth is Rebecca (great name) has plenty of excuses to avoid the gorgeous giant. Her career, her pride, and of course her career…oh did I mention her career. Yes it seems she has excuses and is it just me or do they sound…defensive?!?
He wants to be the last guy for her and she thinks of him as the last guy on earth for her. Mixed signals, communication errors, and “slips” of all kinds make it an entertaining read.
When you have a cast as wild as Chas, Petal Boo Bishop, and Trent backing you anything can and will happen. FYI, no animals were harmed in the making of this book (though a counterattack was contemplated).
reviewed for Sweet Spot Sisterhood
This was a great rom-com! Rebecca is a hot mess when she is reporting stories for the news. She really wants an anchor job. Cade is the sports anchor (ex-NFL player) and has the hots for her. They are so steamy and fun together as a couple. Several work incidents, as well as misunderstandings tries to derail what they have going. Will love happen and triumph in the end? Read it to find out!
I have read both of these authors separately, but they definitely gel when telling this story. I hope they write more about Cade’s brother Trent and Rebecca’s best friend Chas.
I can not say enough about the books these two authors write together!! This is another great book and I’m absolutely in love with it!!!
This was a funny, sexy, and sweet love story. It took you through all the range of feelings that you want to experience in a beautiful love story. The narration was done wonderfully and I enjoyed listening to both of them. I definitely recommend this book and these authors.
Cade and Rebecca are picture perfect story! You’ll instantly fall for these two. Rebecca is just your everyday average woman – bright, funny, and has a penance for eating just a little too much tex-mexico(not that there is such a thing). She has been paying her dues for years and wants the anchor job she has earned and deserves but her slimy boss says horrible things like “loss weight” and “too old”(WTC – Right! – HR much). Cade is trying his hand at sports casting now that his NFL career is over. He wants to be taken seriously and that means no messing around. But he cannot ignore the attraction between Rebecca and himself. After a night of Fireball fueled passion, Cabe realizes that what they have is the real deal and wants to make it permanent. But when a tiny secret snowballs it can spell doom…! This book is chock-full of references from fifty shades to guardians and of Taco Bell – whats not to love!
Fun enemies to lovers story. Co-workers. He’s got it all! He’s the Sports Director and got the job just because he played in the NFL. Grrrrr. She’s worked there for a long time and put her all into each story and now she’s no longer getting the meatier stories. All she wants is to be an anchor. The news is everything.
Her best friend, Chas, is fantastic!! His brother is amazing! When they all get together, shots are involved (of the alcohol variety). The next morning…he’s lying in bed next to her. No, no, no, no, no!! He’s confused because he…wants more?!
And the sparks fly! Hands out of control. O’s aplenty.
Professional desires seem unattainable no matter how hard she tries. Personal desires. Delicious, no matter how hard…!
One secret beyond his control and it all come crumbling down.
The HEA comes (pun intended) and it’s beautiful!!
Three books in three days
I am really falling in lust with Ilsa Madden Mills! I just finished my third book in just as many days. They are wonder books! Very well written, awesome characters, wonderful stories, and very hard to put down.
This is the first co-written one I’ve written. I’m not discounting Tia Louise’s part in making this story what it is. I may also be falling in lust with her as well.
My only critism on this particular story is the cover. It doesn’t match at All! Where’s the facial Hair?
So what happens when 2 greats such as Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise great together and write a book together. …Perfection, plain and simple perfection 5 stars isn’t enough to do this book justice. I absolutely loved this book! I couldn’t get enough of it and I never wanted it to end, truthfully can we start having never ending books now? That would be great! Thanks! The chemistry between Cade and Rebecca practically jumps out of the kindle and shocks you. The things that Rebecca can get herself into are hilarious!! And Cade’s personality screams sexy alpha cut-up. Then you throw in her roommate, his brother, a monkey, and some taco’s and you have a recipe for success!!! I really can not stress how much I enjoyed this book enough! I can’t come up with the words to describe how much I loved this book !!!!! This review will not do it justice and I had no words for the longest time and it put me in a book hangover! All I want to do is reread it over and over again!!! Of course I already love Ilsa and Tia on their own but they make one hell of a team!!! This will definitely be one of my top reads of 2017!!! I definitely recommend this book!
I absolutely love the work of each of these authors on an individual basis…how could this dynamic duo go wrong together !
Cade and Rebecca have just started working together . You know what they say about office romance ….Do Not Do It! Although sometimes the Last Guy that you want to end up with may be exactly what you need !!!!
I loved the push and pull in this relationship. The witty, sarcastic banter was fabulous!
Do yourself a favor and pick up The Last Guy…He will not disappoint !
~~Michele McMullen ~~
I was entertained and into the story. However, I didn’t really enjoy the heroine. She pretty much never let our hero explain. He DID stand up for her prior to the anchor pick and she never let him explain and cut him out. HE was the one who had to come looking for her after he was able to offer her the job back. Not her. She didn’t even really apologize. I could understand being upset with her friend, she didn’t even try, but Cade DID try!
Either way, the story wasn’t terrible. I still enjoyed the romance and story. It was pretty good.
Witty, steamy, and entertaining, The Last Guy is a fabulous collaboration between authors Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise. It’s the kind of story you’ll devour in one sitting. And the chemistry between Rebecca and Cade is WHITE. HOT.
I received and ARC in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.. This book is hands down the best book yet of the summer..You have an uptight news reporter who seems to have unexpected things happen to her and the Ex-NFL Quarterback turned Sports Director who seems like he has had it all handed to him and throw in one very drunk night of drinking shots of Fireballs…I must say I could not put this book down and read it in one setting..You have everything one is looking for in a book…you have the OMG sexual tension and attraction to down right funny scenes that keep you going back for more…I will be reading this one again, because its just that good…I hope I see more of Cade and Rebecca in more work..I can not wait to get this one on Audio when it comes out. I give this one 5 stars!
4.5 Stars. This book was super cute. I loved these two. Rebecca was strong and fought to get herself to the top! Cade was so so sweet and I absolutely adored him. He wasn’t your typical ex quarterback with a chip on his shoulder. I loved how down to earth he was and I loved his brother and Rebecca’s roommate. Great light read!
There’s a few things I’ve come to expect from this author duo:
1. Witty banter that makes you snort laugh at times
2. Melt-your-Kindle sexy times
3. Likeable characters you can relate to
And, what can I say? They never let me down. This was a witty, sexy, low-angst romp, and I loved every minute of it.
Usually reporter heroines irk me. They’re often too nosy for their own good and run head-first into life-threatening situations for the sake of their stories, which can often venture into TSTL (too stupid to live) territory. But Rebecca wasn’t like that. She took a couple of risks, but nothing that made me want to throw my Kindle at her head, and that’s saying a lot, because the list of reporter heroines I really like is pretty short.
But what I think I liked most about this story was Cade. In the beginning, you might think he’s your typical former athlete, cocky jerk type of hero. But once you get to know him, he’s really nothing like that. He’s fairly humble and a genuinely nice guy who is good at his job, loves and supports his brother, and is supportive of Rebecca when no one else in their office is. And because it’s Romancelandia, he’s also blisteringly hot, which is just a bonus as far as I’m concerned. I ADORE nice-guy heroes, and Cade fits the bill nicely.
I won’t keep gushing because if I haven’t convinced you to read this one by now I’m not going to. But if you decide not to read this one, just know you’re missing out on a great office/enemies-to-lovers romance that would’ve made you laugh out loud and possibly pee your pants a little because you were laughing so hard.

Really cute, fun story about chemistry and fighting the inevitable.
Well edited.
Rebecca is a very good, goal-oriented reporter with her sights set on the anchor chair. She doesn’t have time for distractions. And Cade Hill? The ex-NFL quarterback turned sports anchor and director? He is definitely a distraction she doesn’t need. Except Cade is very determined to distract her. Slowly, Cade gets Rebecca to start a relationship, hoping to see if it can turn into something amazing. Will Rebecca let Cade distract her from her goals? Will Cade let misunderstanding keep him from being the last guy in Rebecca’s life?
This is a quick, sit by the pool and enjoy the afternoon, read. There were moments of laughter, a tiny bit of suspense, and a quick resolution to the people conspiring against Rebecca. Enjoy!
I loved absolutely everything about this book. I would give it more stars if I could It’s going straight onto my Favourites of 2017 Shelf.
I don’t remember the last time I smiled so much while reading a story and I laughed so loudly at school pick up (I couldn’t put the book down) that all the mums were giving me funny looks. Whatever – if only they were reading the awesomeness that was Cade and Rebecca
This book honestly has it all.
Cade is seriously hot and swoony
Rebecca is smart and feisty
Her best friend Chas might just be my favourite best friend character ever
Witty Dialogue
Sex scenes that will make your kindle melt
The right amount of sweet to have you smiling and doing little happy sighs Add to this worms and Star Trek and you’ve got the recipe for the year’s best romantic comedy. I will be telling everyone I know to read this book ASAP.
I listened to this on my iPhone. Very intertaining.
