I know his type: slick, stupid, and so far up his own ass it’s a miracle he can still breathe. In other words, he’s exactly what I’m looking for.ANDIE:Love is fake and so are most people. That’s why I prefer to keep it real by speaking my mind, using posers for my own devices, and protecting what’s mine. So when Ponch Amante swaggers up to my front door with his smirky face and annoying charm, … and annoying charm, all I see is a solution to a problem. If he agrees to be my fake boyfriend, I can get out from under my parents’ blackmail scheme to pair me up with one of their sanctimonious Ivy League spawns of Satan. Anything would be preferable to that—even putting up with Ponch for a few weeks. I, of all people, can resist a guy like him, right?
PONCH:
I know her type: frigid ballbuster with a huge chip on her shoulder. She wouldn’t know good sex if it hit her between her creamy white thighs. But the family she works for owns half the town, including the building I want to rent for my new motorcycle gear shop. One word from her can get me the shop, so if she needs a fake boyfriend for whatever crazy plan she has, I’ll be her fricking Prince Charming on a white Harley. It’s a no-risk investment as far as I’m concerned because there’s no way in hell I’d ever fall for someone like Andie. And that’s no lie.
Although The Last Good Liar is part of an interconnected romantic comedy series set at the beach, it can be enjoyed as a standalone novel.

A fun and light fake relationship romance. Normally the cranky character is the mske. This time it’s Andie. Andie can tell a good lie. She can manipulate the truth with the best of them. Her latest lie had gone too far and now she finds herself in need of a boyfriend. Ponch needs a favor. There is a building his wants to acquire. He is the complete opposite of Andie. He is more easy going. A slow burn friends to lovers with laughs and a little bit of emotion.
I like this author so much and always look forward to reading a new book by her. Andie is a recurring character that has shown up previously in the Carolina Kisses series and did not leave a good impression on me. It was good to see her get her own story and to be able to understand what makes her tick, so to speak. Ponch was the consummate playboy and lived up to his reputation even after meeting Andie and that in and of itself did not endear him to me as a reader. He manages to do a 180 by the latter part of the book but it was almost too late for me to believe in him.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is the third book in the Carolina Kisses series. It is about Andie and Ponch. She is a hard woman who does not trust people. She has good reasons but he does not know what. He sees the ice queen and their agreement as a means to an end. Things get complicated from there. Two opposites attract in ways they did not imagine.

I was in the mood for a romantic comedy that would be upbeat and funny. Guess this was a miss for me with the player and the liar who didn’t quite show well as like-able characters.
Their relationship was complicated by the female MC lying and while it made a good foil for Ponch,, the player, her constant subterfuge put a damper on their growing relationship and attraction to each other. The constant second guessing of who was playing who also dragged the romance aspect down for me.

Andie is an accomplished liar. But in order to foil her parents’ plans to match her up to an obnoxious Ivy League guy of their choice, she needs to conjure up a fake boyfriend. Ponch is also in need of a favor and this arrangement of being her fake boyfriend could work out for both of them. Since her family owns the building he wants to rent for his motorcycle gear shop, he needs a good word put in by her so they will rent it to him. He knows he would never fall for someone like her, so there is absolutely no risk here. And she knows she can put up with him for a couple days. It should be no risk at all to ignore him. So… how long could they both keep lying to each other?
These two were so opposite, but it was a dose of humility for each of them when real feelings started to infiltrate their fake relationship. Andie was strong enough and confident enough to put Ponch in his place when his macho act got annoying. And though it surprised him, he responded to that and was attracted to her. How were they going to figure out what to do with these feelings once the charade was over?
All in lies
4.5
Very good romance, very well written, mixing prejudices, social differences, characters who cannot really stand each other, and a heroine who hides her problems under an accumulation of lies, and all of that with few touches of humor.
The story of Andie manipulating Ponch into being her boyfriend against a rental property, might be a simple and fairly classic romance, but the way their relationship evolves, the unbearable nature of Andie’s parents, and the completely their crazy friend, Camille, make their story fascinating.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Entertaining rom com featuring an easy-going playboy hero and a crabby AF heroine who thinks that dating isn’t worth the bother. They are complete opposites in every way, so fighting the growing attraction shouldn’t be a problem, right?
Sound of music… or motorcycles (4.5 stars)
This was my first book in this series but not my first by the author. I definitely want to read the other related books now as I loved Andie and Ponch’s story so much. Great characters, an interesting story, and really well written. What more can you ask for? Loved it.

I loved learning Andie’s story. She is closed off and not trusting of people. Except for Camille, who has been there for her. Pounch isn’t into relationships, and his focus is on his shop and opening a new one. He has found the perfect location not aware that Andies parents are the landlords and won’t approve him to rent. When Andies parents start trying to force Andie into a relationship she sees and opportunity where Pounch and her can help each other and benefit from it. But she doesn’t let Pounch know the whole truth. This story was so funny and great characters.
Ponch and Andie’s story was a great romcom. The banter between these two was so funny and I loved how she is the only one that really put him in his place, she is nothing like the women he’s use to. Even though there attraction is wild she’s not interested in being another notch in his belt. They are complete opposites but they just fit
Another awesome rom-com from one of my favorite authors. This is the third book of The Carolina Kisses series and it features Andi and Ponch and a fake relationship.
Andi was a hard sell for me in the last book so that colored my opinion right from the start. I just felt she was too harsh, too mean, and just really unlikable. It was probably because she was style a mystery. After her and Ponch start interacting I warned up to her. Ponch was easy to like and after I warmed to Andi I began to see them together. They got into some craziness but I love a good laugh out loud story and these to didn’t disappoint.
Awesome side characters that I know and love. It was icing on the cake. Great dialogue, great writing, great story, and a great book. With all that greatness I have to recommend this to all the rom-com lovers out there. I’m giving this one four great stars.
