I know his type: slick, stupid, and so far up his own ass it’s a miracle he can still breathe. In other words, he’s exactly what I’m looking for.ANDIE:Love is fake and so are most people. That’s why I prefer to keep it real by speaking my mind, using posers for my own devices, and protecting what’s mine. So when Ponch Amante swaggers up to my front door with his smirky face and annoying charm, … and annoying charm, all I see is a solution to a problem. If he agrees to be my fake boyfriend, I can get out from under my parents’ blackmail scheme to pair me up with one of their sanctimonious Ivy League spawns of Satan. Anything would be preferable to that—even putting up with Ponch for a few weeks. I, of all people, can resist a guy like him, right?
PONCH:
I know her type: frigid ballbuster with a huge chip on her shoulder. She wouldn’t know good sex if it hit her between her creamy white thighs. But the family she works for owns half the town, including the building I want to rent for my new motorcycle gear shop. One word from her can get me the shop, so if she needs a fake boyfriend for whatever crazy plan she has, I’ll be her fricking Prince Charming on a white Harley. It’s a no-risk investment as far as I’m concerned because there’s no way in hell I’d ever fall for someone like Andie. And that’s no lie.
Although The Last Good Liar is part of an interconnected romantic comedy series set at the beach, it can be enjoyed as a standalone novel.

This is my favorite book (so far) in the Carolina Kisses series. While this could be read as a stand alone, I would actually recommend starting with the audio version of the Carolina Connections series. There’s just something about zany humor that sounds more plausible if someone else is acting it out, and the other series introduces you to Ponch and a few other characters that make a brief appearance in The Last Good Liar. Likewise, Andie is introduced in the earlier Caroline Kisses books. It’s not necessary to read the others in the series to understand what’s going on in this story, but I know that I enjoyed it more because I already knew the characters (and the characters’ friends).
I received a copy of this book at my request, and the opinions in this review are my own.
Holy book hangover! This is how a romcom novel should be done, I couldn’t stop laughing and smiling the entire book. This story was super fun, hilarious, and a fast paced read that I couldn’t get enough of. This little gem was so hilarious and sweet and sexy and swoony, and holy alliteration, it was just PERFECT!! Once I started this read I could not stop. I ignored all responsibilities. So put those kids to bed early and download this book now! Dishes and laundry can also wait too lol SO TRUST ME! THIS IS FANTASTIC ROMCOM!! The Best of 2021!! Happy reading everyone!
I’ve enjoyed this series a lot and this book was really good. I’m so glad Andie finally got her story and it was worth the wait. I absolutely loved her. Ponch is too good for his own self. I liked them together. This book was funny, entertaining, romantic and more.

My first book from this series and Author, now I’m ready for more.
‘The Last Good Liar’ was a well written story that was a little different from your normal fake relationship books. It was easy to read, had great characters that you either wanted to be best friends with or enemies, and some steamy chemistry.
I’m looking forward to reading more from Sylvie Stewart.
Ponch and Andie started off a bit rocky in this romance of opposites! A fake relationship and parental problems allow them to spend “forced” time together which leads to unexpected emotions. I appreciate the slow burn of this coupling and really enjoyed this read!
The Last Good Liar: A Fake-Relationship Romantic Comedy by Sylvie Stewart. I found this story to be enjoyable and steamy, with a good mix of drama, humor, easy banter, and strong characters, and heated chemistry. I would recommend this book and author to others. Ponch!! I feel like I have been waiting forever for his story. However, the wait was well worth it!! And Andie! I am so happy she got a story too! The Last Good Liar was the third book in Sylvie’s Carolina Kisses series. It was emotional, sexy, and so much fun!
Andie was a master manipulator. She knew how to spin a story if she needed to. When one lie went too far she found herself in need of a fake boyfriend. Enter Ponch, he needed help with acquiring a building in exchange for being her boyfriend. Only what would happen when she started having feelings?
Ponch was in town to track the owners of the building he wanted for his new location. Only, he found himself in a fake relationship, would his side deal pay off in the long run?
These two were perfect for each other. I loved how different they were and how each of them were successful on their own. I loved the humor and all of Andie’s antics! What a great addition to this great series. I hope we get to see more of them!
This is the 3rd book in this series and is Ponch and Andie’s story. These two may be total opposites but the sparks fly, and as the story develops, they are there for each other, but they respect each other’s boundaries. This is a well written fun storyline which is an emotional roller coaster as well as being humorous and entertaining, with engaging and realistic characters, and witty and snarky banter. I was intrigued and hooked throughout this addictive page turner, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Cute and fun

This is book three in The Carolina Misses Series and it is Andie and Ponch’s story. I absolutely loved reading about Andie and Ponch and how they are there for each other but don’t overstep each other’s boundaries and as there connection grows stronger over time things change for them. The characters and storyline pulls you in right from the first page and I couldn’t put this book down as I had to see what would happen next between Andie and Ponch and I definitely wasn’t disappointed with the outcome of there story. Sylvia Stewart is a brilliant author and writer and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future as her books are definitely worth reading.

I absolutely LOVE Andie and Ponch! This was an incredible read, the different backstories between the two make them so uniquely fitted for each other. Reading their friendship grow and blossom is beautiful and worth every minute. I love the way they snark at each other and the way the grow together, respect each other and still manage to help one another without fighting each other’s battles. Like I said an incredible read, I highly recommend this and anything Sylvie Stewart has written because they are all amazing. They all make you laugh, fill your heart with joy and sadness and always give you a wonderful happy ending.
“Tell me about complicated.”
They say opposites attract, and boy-oh-boy do they in this entertaining (and hot!) tale.
I’ll confess I fell into total insta-like with pretty much the whole Amante clan in “The Runaround”, and Ponch is no exception. Andie, on the other hand, already proved to be more of an acquired taste in “New Jerk in Town,” so it’s extra fun to spend some time in her head and find out what makes her tick.
I truly had a blast watching these two worlds collide while also reconnecting with old friends and acquaintances.
4.5/5 Black Forest Cake stars
Carolina Kisses has so many great characters that are all part of each book. This centers in Andie and her parents. Andie has a lot of secrets and has closed herself off to almost everyone. Camille is a hysterical character and has been Andie’s only loving influence in her life, as a surrogate daughter and more importantly friend. Ponch originally meets Andie in a previous book and to say it was a disaster is an understatement. He is back in town to try to open a new location for his business. The location he wishes to lease is owned by Andie’s parents. When they originally met she said her name was Maria (the character she is at the restaurant SWiN that she and Camille are partners in). Now the two have to work together to secure the lease and get Andie out of the crazy plans her parents have to strike a business deal using her as leverage. This story will have you laughing, angry, sad and rooting for revenge. It’s a story of growth, learning to trust and live.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this light and breezy fake relationship romantic comedy..
She is cold, outspoken and some might say frigid but a flash of his sexy dimples has this queen of ice slowly melting…..loved both Poncho and Andie…what was meant to to stop her parents from succeeding with their plans and him getting what he wants turns into one of tge most unorthodox relationships ever……

This book and I just did not vibe. I really wanted to like it, and I didn’t totally hate it at first (I actually liked Andie’s first chapter for the most part) but the more I got into the story, the more I realized I was more rage reading than enjoying.
Yeah, it’s safe to say I rage read my way through the rest of this book because I felt duped, I guess? The premise was so good! Fake relationship between two “enemies” so they both can get what they want? Sign me up! However, that’s not quite what I got. Instead, I read a story about two kind of terrible and gross people, one of whom just lied her way through the entire story.
I’m going to be completely honest here, I hated the characters. Like, DEFCON 1 level hated them. Ponch was a sleazebag of a human and was just way too much of a womanizer that I didn’t find it endearing. While he was definitely the lesser of two evils in the Ponch/Andie dynamic, he was still meh and left me feeling itchy after every scene with him. Plus he should have cut and run, to be honest. Andie was a monster. It’s one thing to make your heroine a bitch, but this girl was a Regina-George-on-steroids monster. I absolutely hated her and it was such a bummer because she did have some good lines every once in a while and I could GLIMPSE what could have been but just overall, she was a lying, manipulative, terrible person. Together with Ponch? Not great. Like, I understand when one of them has trust issues, sure, it’s going to shape their character. Of course it is! But this was too much and too far and honestly, I don’t know why Ponch put up with her. And so for a character-driven story, to have two leading characters that you kind of wanted to punch? It made it hard to read this and support them.
Plus they knew each other for two weeks. There was absolutely no reason or supporting evidence for this to have been believable insta-love because they also legitimately did not like each other. Normally I’m all for insta-love but I did not buy this one bit.
I don’t know. This could have been a really really good story, but it just, it didn’t work for me. I wish it did but I just … I don’t know. I’m just mad and disappointed and bummed out because there were absolutely solid one-liners and the story in and of itself was clever. I even loved some of the side characters (Camille was a hoot and a half) so the book definitely could have been great and fun but ugh. Plus there were zero steamy scenes (ok one steamy makeout session that led me to believe there would be more) and there weren’t and that was just the nail in the coffin. I felt like I suffered and received zero reward.
Sigh. I’m sorry I didn’t like this one. I don’t know why I am apologizing. I just feel like I need to because this review is kind of harsh, but I was bummed and angry when I finished and so here we are.
Thanks to Wildfire Marketing for the review copy! Better luck next time, I suppose.
I loved that Maria – sorry, Andie – got her story. When I met her in an earlier book, she was everything but likeable.
Following her now I understand more about her behaviour- even if it was too much, earlier.
Ponch is a character by himself. He starts out as one type and ends up in a slighty different one. He’s always been nice before but now he put it up a notch.
It seems like carying for someone or even falling in love, can make strange things to people. I loved this story.

Sylvie Stewart brings a charming enemies to lovers’ story full of snark and blurred emotions in The Last Good Liar.
Ponch and Andie were not meant to be and that was perhaps the biggest lie to overcome in this story as they threw up constant obstacles to their draw to each other. Fun times and spiraling lies created laughs and angst at a steady pace. Lots of effort went into bringing this couple to a place to act on their physical attractions and overcoming their initial dislike of each other. As discoveries were made that revealed the true people behind the assumptions made by this couple they rose on the likability scale to both readers and each other. Laugh out loud moments were tempered with serious emotions giving this developing relationship a solid believable footing for growth.
Sylvie Steward brought depth to seemingly superficial portrayals with lots of little moments that carefully built up to display her characters genuine sides. She worked on finding a way to bring humor into the most discouraging times and offered hope with determination for the longevity of this relationship. Full of little surprises The Last Good Liar was a quick and entertaining read.
*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. *
*While part of a series this book can be read as a stand alone.*
this is the 3rd book in the series and this time its Ponch and Andie’s story who are both opposites but can be there for each other when needed. Andie is smart and quick thinking when it comes to her lies which I just loved and cracks me up. From the very first page you are drawn in until the last, its full of lies and secrets but will they come out? And lots of humour; especially the banter between the two main characters. I just loved watching the friendship blossom into something more.
Ponch and Andie…this story felt almost like a comedy movie with low heat on the romance…the love part took forever to develop and it hurt the flow of the story a bit…at least for me. It was an enjoyable reading due to the comic banter of the characters and I give it 3,5 stars.

Andie believes that love and most peple are fake. Ponch can be seen as a player but he wants to open his own motor cycle shop and her family owns the building! good read and romance
