Well written
Interesting events. A joy to read.
Excellent read! Realistic variety of characters. Holds you from beginning to end.
It was a good read but the characters were a little shallow
Slow. Very slow.
Wow, what a great book!!! Being from AK and having flown in many small bush planes, it was very accurate in details regarding the environment, conditions, types of people on those planes etc. Kept me reading well into the night because it read so well and I didnt want to put it down. Great book!!!
I loved this book, I’ve read it twice! A very realistic account of a rescue operation in the Alaskan wilderness. Very realistic, it felt like I was on a ride-along in the helicopter. I loved reading about the highly skilled pilots who flew the helicopters.
I am a Viet Nam Army helicopter pilot and I also flew out of Ft. Wainright Alaska. I could very much identify with this book.
An interesting story and ending, but it seemed a bit choppy. A little confusing – too many helicopters and people to keep straight.
If found this writing to be genuine and authentic. A touching story wrapped in a noble adventure. Fellow flyers will have a special connection to it as well.
I enjoyed the book up to the end. The struggle of the helicopter pilot who is dealing with a terminal illness who rises to the challenge of a rescue is intriguing. Outstanding narrative though of the challenges of flying a helicopter in a hostile environment. I found the ending, though, to be a disappointment that leaves more questions than answers. Still an enjoyable read and one I recommend.
very good
It was an insight to the courage of of the pilots who risk their lives everyday for other people. It’s a perfect example of how people are always drawn together to help each other when something bad happens. It was a good read all the way through.
Page Turner..!!! Loved it
More “real” than most books of this genre. Characters were flawed as are many of the people one meets everyday. I especially liked all the details of the helicopter flights in near blizzard conditions.
Good character portrayal. Was written in a way that explained things about helicopters without getting too technical to understand. Good story line, kept me reading.
Good premise, but the author must have been a helicopter pilot because the help details get in the way after a while. Decent action leading up to the rescue, but the ending is all too predictable.
First half of the book is the best.
Enjoyed this book with scenic description and all that the main character went through in life
Loved this book.
very good story but a lot of unnecessary description and details. It did keep my interest…couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen.
