Three pitchers of mimosas and one baby shower invite and the next thing I know, my girlfriends and I are making a pact! If I could do it over again– I would wait: Wait till I was ready– till I knew what “ready” meant. Wait till I knew myself better, wait till I knew what I really wanted from life, wait for someone special. That’s what’s going through my mind when my girlfriends and I start … my girlfriends and I start swapping war stories about how and when we all played our V-cards– and what we’d do differently if we could get a do-over.
Turns out, I’m not the only one at the table with regrets.
So we make a pact. No more going too far with go-nowhere guys. From now on, we’re saving ourselves for something special.
It just figures the sexiest man I’ve ever met would show up just when I’ve sworn off any more flings, because he’s only in town for the summer.
Is Reagan just another reason we made the pact? Or could this be the do-over I’m waiting for?

Bottomless mimosas, bitchfests, and brunch.
That’s what we do on Sunday mornings.
The Lakeside Laundry & Boat Dock Cafe is the quirky sort of place you’d expect to find in a much trendier city like Seattle or Portland– or at least some place that actually had a lake.
But no. There’s no lake, no laundry, and no boat dock but there is a pretty damn good cafe…
Welcome to Landsburg and five girlfriends who make a pact to step back, slow down, and get a do-over on their dating history.
From here on out, they’re saving themselves for someone special.
It’s amazing how fast the Right One shows up once you’re done wasting time on all the wrong ones.

The Last First Date might be about waiting, but it’s far from innocent! If you’re looking for a wholesome read, this ain’t it!
The Last First Date is a short read that follows one couple to their happily ever after with no cheating, very little drama, and some scenes guaranteed to make you blush.

I freaking loved this story from Rocklyn it’s the first book in a new series of hers called The Do-Over Pact. As usual her book’s will have you laughing and falling in love with the characters this one was no different.
Molly and Reagan hit it off when he shows up at her lumber yard looking to get some wood from her. It is a instalove and a short read, but it’s so good it’ll leave you wanting to read more of the book’s in this new series.
A fantastic fast pace book one in the Do-Over Pact series. It is well written, well developed, engaging, witty, funny, emotionally deep, interesting, and steamy. The characters are likeable; the chemistry between them is intense, undeniable, and off the charts. Definitely recommended! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
What a great first book in a series! I love the while group of friends this book is about. They are all funny and lots of fun. Reagan is sexy and almost too good to be true. I loved Molly and Reagans love story and cant wait for the next book in the series!
The Pact will weed out the one’s that aren’t serious, but what happens when you meet the one that is
The Last First Date is the first book in The Do-Over Pact series about five young women, Molly, Abby, Sierra, Bailey and Paige, who are all best friends and meet on Sundays for a raucous mimosa filled brunch and a lot of girl talk. During on brunch the topic of saving your V-card for someone special and deserving and a whole lot of “if I could do it overs.”. By the end they had made a pact to not have sex with anyone that they were not serious about, so “born again virgin”. Well four of the girls made the pact as Bailey being Bailey did not. This book is about Molly and Reagan.
Molly went away to school and got her AA (Associates in Accounting) before she came back home and got a job at Landeburg Lumber. They gave her the job of Contract Supply Liaison with the responsibility of dealing with all the contractors in the area, placing orders and ensuring all deliveries. She does want to go back and get her Bachelor’s in Business Finance but she can’t afford it if she is not working and if she is working then she does not have the time.
Reagan is in town for the summer to help his younger brother Spencer build out his van so that he can take a great vantastic trip down the coast to Baja. Reagan lives a couple of hours away and has his own successful business of building tiny homes that are on trailers. When Reagan walks into the contractor office trailer at the back of Landeburg Lumber he was ready to order supplies for his brother’s build but instead he meets a beautiful young woman who takes his breath away and makes him forget his own name. Before he leaves he asks her out on a date but she turns him down but after she gets off work they are getting to know each other over burgers, onion rings and milkshakes. They are both having a good time and sparks are flying all over the place but for Molly she has the pact, “to not waste time chasing guys that aren’t going to stick around”. When she shares this with him after they have an electrifying kiss Reagan is okay with it. After all he knows she is “the one” and he is already figuring out how to be her “last first everything”
I loved this book and the premise of the pact among the ladies is great. It makes you wonder what you would “do over” in your life if you had the chance…………..to many to name but then again if you don’t take risks you would lead a boring life. The characters are nicely developed and we also get a flavor of each of the four other ladies and Spencer. Things are going to get interesting in the small town of Landeburg with the “new pact” in town!
Way too fast!! Definitely like the idea behind this series concept but everything happened at hyper speed with the bare minimum laid for the foundation. This felt like I was looking at an outline with with some of picture colored in at intervals. Not sure I wanna continue this series if I’m gonna be reading blips. Good idea, unfulfilled execution.
“The Last First Date” is the first book in author Rocklin Ryder’s new series “The Do-Over Pact”. This series centers around a group of girlfriends who over brunch one day, decide that they are tired of having meaningless one night stands. They would rather become born-again virgins and hold out for the man they are destined to spend the rest of their life with.
One thing that I love about this author is that she is wildly creative! She does not follow along with whatever popular trope is currently taking the romance novel industry by storm. She carves her own path and never seems to disappoint! Her storylines always keep me wildly entertained and this new series definitely does not disappoint!
This book is sassy and fun, the perfect length for a lazy day beside the lake/pool/beach, and has just a smidgen of heat that is sure to make even the hottest day just that much hotter. The characters are extremely likable and lovable, not to mention hilarious! It will be a deliciously fun series to read as we watch each girlfriend find their one true love and determined if they’re willing to give it up for that man. I’m already looking forward to the next book!
In ‘The Last First Date’, book 1 of ‘The Do-Over Pact Series’ we are introduced to Molly and her girlfriends. Every Sunday they meet for mimosa morning brunch and girl time at a local cafe. As they enjoy their mimosa buzz, the topic of life’s do-overs is discussed. The number one do-over for all the friends is there first time at sex. So a pact is made and agreed to that sex is only to be shared with somebody that they can see a future with. The next morning, Molly meets Reagan at work. He is there to buy lumber for a project that will only keep him in town for a couple of months. While sharing dinner, they discover they not only have a lot in common, are extremely attracted to each other, but share life goals in regards to marriage and family. You have to read the book to enjoy the remainder of the story but I highly recommend doing so. All the characters are interesting and well written. Molly and Reagan are steamy and sexy together. The story flows well and is perfect for a hot quick read. As always with Ms Ryder, I will be anticipating the next in series. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This new series by Rocklyn Ryder is about a group of small town women who are tired of they way their love lives are going. So over their weekly brunch and a few adult beverages, they make a pact to hold off on sex until they find “the one”. First to find “the one”, is Molly, a bookkeeper at the local lumber yard. There she meets Reagan, who’s only in town to help his brother with a build. Since he’s only there for a short time, Molly is determined not to get too involved because of the pact. He’s equally determined to prove he’s the one for her. Rocklyn is great at creating characters that are relatable, interesting, and feel like your own friends. The book is a well paced read with a great HEA. I cant wait for the next book in this series.
I received an ARC and this is my honest review.
This is a quick fast book about two people that meet and know they have found the “one”. Molly and Reagan’s story is hot and steamy as they fall fast and see the future they both want. I enjoy the way Rocklyn Ryder writes her short books, she is able to develop the characters and lay the foundation for the story without the reader feeling like anything is missing.
Reagan owns his own business building tiny homes, but is in this little town to help his brother with a building project. On his way to his brother’s place, he stops at the lumber yard to pick up the supplies needed.
Molly is a girl that was born and raised in this little town. She never left, never wanted to be away from the place she knows as home. Now all grown up, she is the manager for the local lumber yard.
Reagan walks into the office to pick up the order, Molly is at her desk working just like everyday. Once they see each other, there is no denying these two have instant chemistry. A few jokes lead to a non-date dinner. Things between them sizzle even more. After the non-date dinner, the two have a hot moment. Molly stops things from getting any more heated by telling Reagan about a pact she and her friends have made. Reagan wants to know what the pact is about, and Molly tells him it is a virgin do-over pact. Being nervous he will laugh at her and walk away, Molly is surprised when Reagan upholds the rules of the pact.
There is a bit of time that goes by, and a lack of communication between Molly and Reagan. Just when you think there was nothing more to happen, here comes Reagan. He has something to show and tell Molly, something important. The bigger plan is explained, and along with that plan comes a few extra surprises.
There is a lot of fun, happiness and a great happy ever after for these two all throughout this book. It is definitely a read and reread several times sort of book!
The Start of a Great New Series
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. This is another really good book and is a great start to another new series. I really enjoyed reading “The Last First Date” from Rocklyn Ryder. It is a really well written book with a great, interesting, intriguing storyline and the engaging characters have great chemistry and interaction that pulled me into their story. This is an Entertaining, Must Read Romance that I really loved reading from beginning to end
What a great start to a new series by Rocklyn Ryder. I’m a huge fan of hers and this new Do-Over Pact series definitely is already off to an amazing start.
This book centers after a group of friends who are wished they could go back and “Do-Over” their relationships. Most of the friends agree to wait until they are sure their relationship is true. Of course, it’s not long until the first one in the group meets her man.
Molly meets Reagan and she is immediately drawn to him. Unfortunately he is only in town for a few months to help his brother. A great story ensues! It’s a very quick read but definitely a enjoyable & hot read.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I’m assuming it will be about Reagan’s brother, Spencer, and him being ready to settle down (hopefully with Paige).
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review and opinion.
During brunch and with some mimosas helping the process, Molly and her friends got in deep thinking. They had wasted time with occasional relationships that had resulted in nothing. But still, they could do something about it. A do-over and wait for the right man! It was amusing the way Molly and Reagan met and started their romance. And there were some lovely narrations and scenes that made me sigh. Got my attention Paige and her embarrassment near Spencer and that repetition that ‘Bailey was Bailey.’ Liked the easy going of the plot development and the HEA. Entertaining characters, funny commentary, camaraderie, romance, and passion.
A quick good read with no drama and great characters. Reagan owns his own business and when he comes to the small town where his brother is, he meets Molly when picking up building materials. Their first meeting is cute and funny and Molly regrets her pact with her friends on not sleeping with someone unless they know he’s the one. Reagan is smitten with Molly and he will do everything in his power to convince Molly he is there to stay and he is the one she has been waiting for.
A good quick read with steam, some humour, no drama which I really enjoyed and an insta love story that made me smile from ear to ear. Perfect read when you want to smile !
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
A new series about a group of girlfriends and their regrets or lost chances was always bound to be a good giggle with some serious lusting. Hot males and sexy females is a combination for one special cocktail. Worth the read and looking forward to the rest of the girls tales and woes.
Molly and her girlfriend’s get together for brunch and pitchers of mimosas are devoured….and a pack is made.
While working at the local lumber yard, Molly meets Reagan. Reagan is in the small town to help his brother convert his van into tiny home living. Reagan invites Molly out for a ‘non-date’ lunch and she agrees. She tells him about the pack with her friends, they agreed to be born again v-card holders. Molly thinks she’s lost Reagan now, he realizes he has found his forever girl…can he convince her they’re forever?
This story is a great beginning to what looks to be another fantastic series by Rocklyn, I can’t wait!!!
It’s not exact a do over, but it’s rather waiting for the right one instead of just a fling.
I found I really enjoyed this book, with the right touch of steam and fun. Molly and her friends are at a point when doing the same old isn’t working. What to do?
Take a breather. Of course that’s when Reagan walks in, he’s only in town temporarily. But what a temptation.
Recommend. You can blame it on the mimosas.
Great decisions are born when like minds commiserate over brunch!
It also doesn’t hurt that liquid courage is involved.
Five close friends each decide to redo their “first time” by waiting for the right guy.
Lively and short but with meaning and plenty of intense chemistry.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book.
Tired of wasting their time and their hearts on dead-end relationships, Molly and her girlfriends decide to do over their first times. But this time they’re going to wait for a partner who’s in it for the long haul. Poor Reagan walks face-first into this little complication. What’s a guy to do? Not to worry, because when he looks into Molly’s eyes, he just might be looking at forever. Oh my gosh, this story is just so stinkin’ cute! I laughed, I sighed, I “squee”d in giddiness. It’s everything about ‘love at first sight’ done right.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
SWEET…. Rocklyn Ryder gives us a great beginning to her new series The Do-Over Pact. After a bitchfest with her girl pals they make a pact not to have sex until “THE ONE” comes along. Molly meets Reagan at her job and there’s an insta connection and chemistry but there’s a problem… He’s only in town for the summer. Oh my… Will they find a HEA? I loved this book about Molly and Reagan. It’s well written, awesome characters, plenty of humor, hot sexy scenes, a girlfriends pact, it’s a sweet entertaining and captivating story. Would I recommend it: YES
I received a free copy of this book via Rocklyn Ryder’s ARC Team and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
