Three pitchers of mimosas and one baby shower invite and the next thing I know, my girlfriends and I are making a pact! If I could do it over again– I would wait: Wait till I was ready– till I knew what “ready” meant. Wait till I knew myself better, wait till I knew what I really wanted from life, wait for someone special. That’s what’s going through my mind when my girlfriends and I start … my girlfriends and I start swapping war stories about how and when we all played our V-cards– and what we’d do differently if we could get a do-over.
Turns out, I’m not the only one at the table with regrets.
So we make a pact. No more going too far with go-nowhere guys. From now on, we’re saving ourselves for something special.
It just figures the sexiest man I’ve ever met would show up just when I’ve sworn off any more flings, because he’s only in town for the summer.
Is Reagan just another reason we made the pact? Or could this be the do-over I’m waiting for?

Bottomless mimosas, bitchfests, and brunch.
That’s what we do on Sunday mornings.
The Lakeside Laundry & Boat Dock Cafe is the quirky sort of place you’d expect to find in a much trendier city like Seattle or Portland– or at least some place that actually had a lake.
But no. There’s no lake, no laundry, and no boat dock but there is a pretty damn good cafe…
Welcome to Landsburg and five girlfriends who make a pact to step back, slow down, and get a do-over on their dating history.
From here on out, they’re saving themselves for someone special.
It’s amazing how fast the Right One shows up once you’re done wasting time on all the wrong ones.

The Last First Date might be about waiting, but it’s far from innocent! If you’re looking for a wholesome read, this ain’t it!
The Last First Date is a short read that follows one couple to their happily ever after with no cheating, very little drama, and some scenes guaranteed to make you blush.

This is a wonderful start to a new series, the do-over pact between Molly and her friends is sweet and entertaining, this novella is quick to read and fast-paced. Molly and Reagan are both wonderful characters and I enjoyed the interaction between them. The girls together are a riot and incredibly fun….
Great start to a new series by Rocklyn Ryder. Molly and her friends have made a pact they call a Do over. They are tired of meeting guys hoping that the relationship goes somewhere only to find that the guys only want a fling with them. Molly is determined to find “the one”. She wont settle until she does. Reagan has come to town to help his brother Spencer do a rebuild on his van. Molly and Reagan meet when he comes by the place she works at to order lumber. Reagan is smitten from the beginning. He asks her to have dinner with him. The two hit it off right away. Somehow Molly finds herself telling Reagan about the pact she has made with her friends. Reagan is determined to win her over and supports her in her decision. The two are very attracted to one another and soon strong feelings have developed for one another. This is a quick and sweet read with a wonderful HEA. I can not wait to see whose story is next.
The Last First Date is the first book in Rocklyn Ryder’s new series The Do-Over Pact. In this book we meet Molly & Reagan & follow them on their road to happily ever after.
Molly & her friends meet every Sunday for brunch at their favorite little cafe to drink mimosas, eat & talk about whatever happens to come to mind. When the topic turns to regrets & what-ifs, Molly’s dissatisfaction with her life & some of her early decisions, and maybe just a mimosa or 2 too many, leads her to agree to a do-over pact with her friends. So of course this would be the time she’d meet him.
Reagan is in town for a few months to help out his brother. When he stops at the local lumber yard to pick up his order he’s blown away by the woman behind the counter. Now if he can just talk her into going out with him.
The first book of any series is really a tell for me. If it catches me, then I know I have to read the rest of the series. And yes, this book not only caught me but held me there reading until I was done. The main characters are adorable & the supporting cast is very much in the background with just enough of an appearance to introduce them & set up for the next book in the series. All in all, this is a short cute read & perfect for a quiet afternoon’s read.
I voluntarily read & reviewed this advanced reader’s copy.
out of towner wins big. The pact was a bit silly and immature and would not have been an issue if these chicks had used prior discretion! Just saying the truth! Lower the body count girls!!!! I liked Reagan’s integrity and willingness to play Molly’s game!! Steamy and entertaining.
This is the first book in a new series from the mind of author, Rocklyn Ryder. The premise of the series is that a group of girlfriends in a small town, who get together weekly for brunch at The Lakeside Laundry & Boat Dock Cafe (the joke being that there is no lake or laundry), get a bit schickered and while none of them are virgins anymore, pledge not to have sex with another guy, until they are sure that he is the one that they will spend the rest of their lives with- a virginity do over.
This is Molly’s story. She loves her small town and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. She got an AA in Accounting and would like to go back to school to finish her BA in Business Finance, but can’t work full time to pay tuition and manage classes and homework, so she has been working at the town lumber yard managing the office. Which is how she meets, Reagan, who builds tiny houses and is temporarily in town helping his brother build his van into a custom built camper. They are attracted to each other from the start, but Reagan is only in town temporarily and Molly made her pact with her friends. Only Reagan believes from their first non-date, that Molly is his forever girl. Can he convince her that he is the one for her?
Delightful characters, easy banter and a cute story line make this a lovely fast read. I can’t wait to read the next book about Reagan’s brother Spencer with one of the other ladies (?). Who will it be?
I read an ARC as part of the author’s Advance Review Team and this is my unbiased and voluntary review
A sweet quick read that will have you swooning for Molly and Reagan. Love how Molly makes a pact with her friends and sticks with it and how Reagan supports her.
