Harry Bosch’s life is on the edge. His earthquake-damaged home has been condemned. His girlfriend has left him. He’s drinking too much. And after attacking his commanding officer, he’s even had to turn in his L.A.P.D. detective’s badge. Now, suspended indefinitely pending a psychiatric evaluation, he’s spending his time investigating an unsolved crime from 1961: the brutal slaying of a prostitute … prostitute who happened to be his own mother.
Even after three decades, Harry’s questions generate heat among L.A.’s top politicos. And as the truth begins to emerge, it becomes more and more apparent that someone wants to keep it buried. Someone very powerful… very cunning… and very deadly.

I have read most of Michael Connelly ‘s books, but The Last Coyote is the Harry Bosch book that has stayed with me longest.
Harry Bosch is probably the original character that’s spawned the “haunted, hard drinking detective that can’t let go of a case” trope that fills this genre, and in this novel, drawing an analogy between himself and the last …
In the Last Coyote, we find Harry Bosch on the edge. He’s drinking too much and at no surprise, he’s in a battle with the department powers that be. After going at it with his commanding officer he’s been suspended with pay, turned in his badge, and is forced to see a shrink. Never one to just sit around Bosch sets out to investigate a murder …
Harry Bosch has been suspended from work, and he decides to use the time to look into the one case that has always haunted him – the death of his mother. She was a prostitute, and the case has been cold for over 30 years. Can he find any fresh leads to follow? Is there even anyone alive who would care about it anymore?
In many ways, this book …
ot all his mysteries great reading
Hard to pick just one Michael Connelly book. They are all good. Harry Bosch is the best!
Harry is a cop who bends the rules here and there, but gets the bad guy every time. He lives by ‘everyone matters or no matters’. This is only one book in the Harry Bosch series, a cop procedural that is different from the rest in that they are written by a guy who worked the crime beat for a newspaper in real life. A good book and great series.
Love Harry!!!!!!!
Great as always, love bosch
Connelly always a good read. Bosch is boss.

This is the best book in the whole Harry Bosch series.
If you are a recent MC fan, go back to his early works. This is one of his best. Hauntingly good Bosch.
I have been reading the Harry Bosch series. Good book and good series.
Harry Bosch – a wonderful character who just gets bettor in each book of the series.
I am a huge Michael Connery fan and love Harry Bosch and the cast of characters. It has been a while since I read this one so I won’t be able to give a specific review, but I have never been disappointed with any of this series. I look forward to the next one that will be released in a few months.
