Sophie Honeywell always wondered if Thomas Gordon was the one she let get away. He was the perfect boyfriend, but on the day he was to propose, she broke his heart. A year later he married his travel agent, while Sophie has been mortifyingly single ever since. Now Thomas is back in her life because Sophie has unexpectedly inherited his aunt Connie’s house on Scribbly Gum Island — home of the … famously unsolved MunroBabymystery.
Sophie moves onto the island and begins a new life as part of an unconventional family where it seems everyone has a secret. Grace, a beautiful young mother, is feverishly planning a shocking escape from her perfect life. Margie, a frumpy housewife, has made a pact with a stranger, while dreamy Aunt Rose wonders if maybe it’s about time she started making her own decisions.
As Sophie’s life becomes increasingly complicated, she discovers that sometimes you have to stop waiting around — and come up with your own fairy-tale ending.
As she so adroitly did in her smashing debut novel, Three Wishes, the incomparable Liane Moriarty once again combines sharp wit, lovable and eccentric characters, and a page-turning story for an unforgettable Last Anniversary.

So I can’t decide if Liane Moriarty writes unsympathetic characters with enormous empathy, or sympathetic characters very tartly. This tale of Scribbly Island and the Munro Baby Mystery is a lot of fun, at times very lovely, and at times very mean. Still on sale, for what it’s worth…
Great story about a woman looking for the love of her life, and finding out many things about herself along the way. Lots of characters with their own problems to overcome, and a honest look at post part-em depression.
This book started off a little slow for me, but I am glad I stuck with it. Not one of my favorites of Laine Moriarty’s, but I can still say it is great read.
I love everything she writes.
Scribbly Gum Island is home to the famous unsolved mystery of the Munro Baby. Sophie Honeywell has been to the island many times and participated in the tours and festivities. When she suddenly inherits the home of Connie Doughty, whose family owns the island and also happens to be an integral part of the Munro Baby mystery, Sophie is sure there …
Although she has been on my TBR list forever, this was my first Liane Moriarty book – but not my last. I fun read with plenty of humor and a little mystery. I figured out the Muro baby secret pretty early on, but that didn’t lessen the fun of reading on to see if I was right. The secret is revealed about
3/4 of the way through the book. At first I …
I think I’ve read every one of her novels. She is an excellent writer.

Very strange!
But I loved it! Very quirky characters revolve around a very strange story. There are quite a few laughs, some shocks, and even a gasp or two.
It’s the author’s second book. It wasn’t what I expected, but still worth it.
Weird
This book is a great read.
A bit of a slow starter, but compelling all the way to the shocking ending. Caused much discussion at book club.
Surprising!
I found the story very entertaining with interesting characters and surprise twists.
At this point, I’d be hard-pressed to find a Liane Moriarty book I didn’t like!
Enjoyed this book.
It was a character driven story with the plot as a back story. Not a genre I prefer. I won’t read any more Liane Moriarty novels.
I really enjoyed this book. The writing style is easy to read and there are numerous twists throughout the story. There are many characters but the author somehow managed to keep the various individual story lines moving along while at the same time integrating them toward the end reveal. This is a fun fast read which has some serious issues, …
I love everything Liane Moriarty writes, and this marvelous book is no exception. With another surprise ending, too!!
Good book, and interesting characters. I gave 4 stars because I found the ending to be flat.
