If there was a secret to riches, would you share it?David Dypsvik, a broke and depressed MBA student, is given a secret assignment by his university professor. Forty years earlier, in the 1970s, one of the world’s richest men vanished from the face of the Earth. The billionaire had just completed a lecture series called The Principles of Wealth at Oxford University. The question is: Did he share … Did he share something he shouldn’t have shared in that last lecture? And what really happened the day he disappeared?
The last Alchemist will take you on a journey through the history of wealth-creation and ancient mysteries. We follow a reluctant hero, a wanna-get-rich-quick MBA student, in his relentless pursuit of the missing billionaire and the secret to riches.
But nothing could have prepared David Dypsvik for what he is about to face.
Nobody is who they claim to be, and the stakes can be high when the prize is an abundance of riches.
Or perhaps something else entirely…
THE LAST ALCHEMIST is a page turner of a mystery thriller in the blockbuster tradition of The Atlantis Gene and The Da Vinci Code. It melds together historical and scientific details with conspiracy theories that will stay with you long after you finish.

Read some, not interested in it so I quit
Delightful read, just the right blending of facts and then stretch them out to make a taut conspiracy thriller with a few twists and double takes to make for a solid story.
The story evolves around a disheartened MBA Oxford student. He is given an assignment by a mystifying professor to determine what happened to one of the world’s richest men after he gave a lecture at Oxford on The Principles of Wealth. The billionaire disappears, with no trace, the day after the lecture in 1970., never to be seen again. According to the professor’s account, students who attended the last lecture in the billionaire’s series were given the secret to accumulating wealth, but at what cost.
I found the book difficult to read and to stay focused on the storyline, wanting to give up several times. The flow was erratic, often boring and tedious, with bursts of thrilling adventure inserted to keep the reader interested. The character development was poor and at times, confusing. The ending was a disappointment and left many questions unanswered.
Excellent! Loved the ending!
It was OK
The writing was technically acceptable but the story was flat and repetitive.
I had to go back and forth to follow characters.
a little slow to start does puck up if you can stick to it
This book was great entertainment! Witty characters, interesting storyline and an original plot kept me turning the pages at a fast pace. The protagonists are very likable and the action was realistic. Highly recommended this book, and I will look for more titles from this author.
I really liked it. Took me a minute to get involved but once I did I couldn’t put it down.
This book kept me on my toes until the very end.
Just could not get into this book.
Not my usual but I really loved this book. I liked the history. Was nervice when it mentioned the holocaust because I am a grandchild of services and non servers
I’m reading this book right now and it’s so interesting that I can’t put it down.
A Good Read but ending was a bit confusing
I was interested, but ultimately let down by twists and turns of plot and theme that never quite held together, and almost, but never quite succeeded in that “willing suspension of disbelief.”
Engaging and alluring yet intriguing too. Good to sink your teeth into on a stormy winter day.
Excellent reading
The book starts with an air of grandiosity and you wonder where it can possibly go. All of that evaporates and the ending isn’t commensurate with the beginning. It’s as if the author couldn’t figure out how to continue with a coherent story after the inspired beginning and had to abandon his original vision. It’s technically well written, but expect disappointment.
Boring, lost interest 10% in
