With only her personal maid, Elise Finster, as determined chaperone, Anne embarks upon a quest to find David Stone. First stop, St. Louis, where the ladies discover their quarry went farther west five years ago. Resolute in their mission, Anne and Elise join a wagon train to Oregon. But … But will their prairie adventure turn into a Wild West nightmare?

I like this book because it’s easy to read. The characters all fit in a way that pulls you into the story as if you are one of them. It’s realistic, for that time period. And is romantic, without being erotic. It was a page-turner for me, because once I started reading, I couldn’t stop until I finished the book. It has a fitting title, and the book cover is perfect!
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a light love story, and enjoys taking a trip from reality, sometimes. It is a very enjoyable read!
A different twist on a wagon train story. Thoroughly engaging with entertaining characters. Happy
A good book. Adventure of crossing plains in 1855 and interesting historical perspective.
Two English ladies adapting to America.
An intriguing book.
Enjoyed the set of the ladies who went out west to find lost family member, their adventures and loves. Enjoyed every minute of reading the complete set!
I enjoyed this book very much from the very first page. It’s in a series about the brides and this one was unusual and entertaining all the way through.
I enjoyed it. It was a good, light read.
Maybe this plot idea has been done before, but I haven’t read anything with this particular plot line. I had my doubts that it was going to be any good, but it was really well done. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline, very much. I’ve already read the second book in the series, and it is very well done, too.
If you are looking for a book with adventure and a sweet romance then this is a for you. The story flowed easily with a few twists and turns.
Good reading.
The Lady’s Maid is a light a pleasant read. I thoroughly enjoyed the presentation of both the story and the characters.
Never to late for happiness
Good book with interesting characters, some which weren’t developed too well. It ends rather abruptly, but I suppose that is to make you want to go out and get the next book.
Enjoyed reading about how each character started out on the trail to Oregon and how they where at the end.
Set along the Oregon Trail, the characters undergo hardships in a search for a missing relative. A little mystery along with the romance adds to the story.
Awesome
This could have happened in the old west during the time wagon trains were taking people to begin new lives, but not likely. I just enjoyed the journey.
Well written.
Totally absorbing! Sensitive, fun, encouraging! Well written history with a motivational challenge for today. A book you don’t want to put down.
Great adventure for two ‘ladies that showed once again how good people build community and trust by helping oters!
This book is really good and different. I’ve read many wagon train books and none like this one. Very detailed and entertaining. I’m reading the next one in the series because I have to know what happens to Anne. So far it’s been good. Also, this book is clean. So tired of “he looked at her,she looked at him and it’s bedtime” ! If u like wagon train books don’t miss this one!
