Based on Plato’s Atlantis story as written in his dialogues: Critias and Timaeas.Follow Evan as he continues his odyssey as Servant of the Gods in The Labyrinthine Journey. The quest to locate the sacred object adds pressure to the uneasy alliance between Evan and the Atlanteans. His inability to accept the world he’s in, and his constant battle with Zeus, both threaten to derail the expedition … Zeus, both threaten to derail the expedition and his life.
Traversing the mountainous terrain of the Peloponnese and Corinthian Gulf to the centre of the spiritual world, Evan meets with Pythia, Oracle of Delphi. Her cryptic prophecy reveals much more than he expected; something that changes his concept of the ancient world and his former way of life.
Will Evan and his friends succeed in their quest to find the relics and stop the advent of Christianity?

With the first of three pieces required to save the Olympian Gods retrieved, Luciana Cavallaro’s The Labyrinthine Journey (Mythos Publications 2017) takes readers on a second wild treck around ancient Greece and the surroundings with the continued goal of saving the Olympian Gods from destruction at the hand of the one God of Christianity. With the help of a thankful king who was assisted by the High Priestess (a member of the intrepid group), Evan (aka Evandros) and his companions head to their next destination. When Evan is seriously injured, he survives through the assistance of the Mother Goddess who not only cured him but helped him to better understand the part he, a 21st-century Christian (I think) plays in the success of this mortal battle. Really, Cavallaro sums it up and provides insight into the series with this line:
‘The actions of the gods are not for us to question; we are their servants.’
The harder Evan fights to accomplish what seems to be an impossible goal (after all, the One God did win out over the panoply of Greek gods), the more respect Evan gets for this long-gone world and the better he understands what the true meaning of living a good life is.
As in the first book, this one is filled with authentic culture, vibrant settings, and believable characters from the era that gave birth to democracy. Evan is a physically strong, opinionated, and commanding individual who is not afraid to take charge of circumstances, argue his case, and lead when needed (which is always). This seems to be a winning combination when it comes to the task of saving the world as the ancient Greeks knew it. The knowledge Evan brings from a life spent in the 21st century studying the history of Greece and their gods often provides just what the travelers need to figure out their next step. I must confess, I’d never wondered how a religion as entrenched as the Olympian Gods gave way to the one God of Christianity. This epiphany, for me, was reason enough to read this book.
One final note: Though this is the second in Servant of the Gods trilogy, Cavallaro does an excellent job of catching readers up on the relevant events from the first book that impact events. I don’t think there’d be a problem reading this without the first.

The Labyrinthine Journey is book two in the Servant of the Gods series. It could stand on its own as the author does a good job of giving you tie-ins to book one. Although, this story is so good, who wouldn’t want to read the first book???
As a person who loves mythology, this book captured and held my interest. I felt like I was right there in the story with the characters. The world building is fantastic and the descriptions in the book bring everything to life. The Labyrinthine Journey is a colorful adventure that you will not want to put down!

The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods Book 2)
By Luciana Cavallaro
5 out of 5 stars
The book The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods Book 2) by Luciana Cavallaro is an exciting and entertaining read. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. It is a book that has action, danger, and Greek gods. I loved reading about the character of Evan. He has been ripped from his life in the 21st century and now has a new one in ancient Greece. His father is Zeus. The only way that Evan can get back to his time is to collect sacred relics. Along with those he travels with he finds himself facing mythical creatures, fabled warriors, those who would see their mission fail, and those who would do all in their power to help. Will Evan and his companions find the sacred relics? What does their future hold? Read this book to find out. This is a fast-paced story that had me turning pages to find out what happens next. I loved the Greek mythology. The author does a wonderful job of keeping my interest in the storyline and the characters. The book made me feel like I was right there with Evan and the other characters. I would highly recommend reading it.
My heart is still racing from the adrenal rush from this story. One of my favorite topics is Mythology. I love the gods, demi-gods, and the history around them. Luciana Cavallaro is a mastermind. She has created worlds for her characters to come to life. The absorbent amount of details paint a vivid picture that one can see. There is everything you would expect in a historical fantasy story: adventure, action, gods, mythology, drama, prophecy and relics. Her characters fly off the page which makes the story all around awesome. Evan is in the 21st Century world. He was taken to Ancient Greece. He needs to complete some tasks for his father Zeus. That is how he will return to the 21st Century. Will Evan complete his tasks? Will he survive the journey? I highly recommend reading this heart pumping story to find out the answers to these questions and many more adventures that are within the pages of this book.
5 Star
The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods Book 2) by Luciana Cavallaro is a Historical Fantasy that I absolutely loved reading. One of my favorite genres is historical and I’m a sucker for anything mythology so this book was a must read This my first read by this Author but I’m definitely going to go back and read the first book in this series. This story is about Evan and he’s searching for some sacred relics for his father to take him back to the present. While on his journey he goes to battle with mythical creatures . Can he find his way back or will he be lost in history? Find out what happens next in this epic story. I highly recommend.
I love books about Greek mythology, and this was just a wild twist. I strongly underestimated what I was getting into with this book. This book takes you through time to a different world than we obviously know. It was so good. I wish I had read the first book before this one, and that’s the only qualm I had with it.
This is the second of The Servant of the Gods series, where the protagonist Evan, who is time travelled back in time has a mission to retrieve the second relic which is instrumental in wiping away the Greek Gods. It is about Evan’s journey to retrieve the relic with few of his companions and the high priestess. They encounter lot of dangers on their way and finally in the Labyrinth they have to face the fiercest of the beasts, the Minotaur.
I had not the read the first book, but nevertheless, the second book gripped me right from the first page. I love Greek mythology and I enjoyed reading each and every page of this book. Many familiar characters and names pop up in different parts of the book, the Greek Gods (major and minor), the Greek heroes (Jason, Herakles), mythical creatures like Harpies, minotaur, priestesses and queens and also the Titans.
It is very gripping novel and you can never even slip a page lest you miss a finer detail. It also moves back and forth in time, back to ancient Greece and forward to the 21st Century where Evan actually belongs. It is full of twists and turns. I enjoyed reading this book thoroughly. I am planning to read all the sequels. A great read !
If you enjoy books that have action, excitement and danger all mixed together with Greek Gods, then this is definitely the book for you!
The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods Book 2) is the second book in the epic series by Luciana Cavallaro and it does not disappoint!
This book continues Evan’s quest on to find a/the sacred object and from the first page it just steals your imagination with its brilliant plot writing and exciting happenings and character developments. Not only has Evan been thrown in the deep end into Ancient Greece but he is now contending with Greek God’s, something completely different from his life in the 21st century. The only way he can return to his old life is to collect sacred relics. But of course, it is not as easy as it seems and Evan is met with creatures and other beings who would gladly make him fail.
Cavallaro has a brilliant knack for story telling and this book will keep you fully engaged until the last page and it will keep you wanting more! Definitely a 5 out of 5 for me!
“The Labyrinthine Journey” was an interesting read. The most notable feature of this book, to me, is that it is an intense, high-action book. It is often hard to find a “good stopping point” for the night, due to the constant action (which let’s face it… no one is complaining about that). In the beginning, I was little lost since I did not read the first book in this series prior to this one. However, I will say the author did a good job “filling-in the blanks” as the story progressed. Given this, once I got into the flow of the story, I easily saw how this can be a stand-alone book. I originally suspected this to be a Percy Jackson twist, but to my surprise, it had a very unique plot to the reason for collecting the god-saving relics which Evan (the main character) was seeking. I have never been great at history, but from what I remember, it seems the author is well-learned on topics involving Ancient Greece and Greek mythology. I would recommend this book to any historical fiction fan.
The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavallaro is the second book in the Servant of the Gods series. This is a really interesting story with historical fiction, Gods and Goddesses, and a man from the 21st century on a quest to find a sacred object. Even, the son of Zeus, has to find this object before the beginning of Christianity. The characters are interesting and if you like history and mythology this will be a good read to you. I liked that the author took mythology and placed it in the context of the beginning of Christianity. Everything is well planned out and exciting to read. The story has a good flow and kept me from wanting to put it down. I look forward from reading more from this author in the future to see what interesting stories she brings to life.
The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavollaro is the second book in the Servants of the gods series. The characters, storyline, and world building were fantastic. Luciana does a great job weaving enough information from the first book into the story, so you could read this book as a stand-alone and not be lost.
Evan Chronis is on a quest to find the remaining relics, to help the gods keep their control and prevent their extinction. While doing this he must learn to work together with his team members and accept that he is the son of Zeus. Will they succeed in their mission? Or will adversity pull them apart?
This is the second book in the Servant of God’s Series.
The adventure continues as Evan (Evandros) and his companions carry on their search for the relics to save the gods from Christianity. They have found one and are on the journey to find the second one.
Their journey is met with plenty of challenges which they have to overcome. Evan knows he needs to find the relics so he can return home to the 21st century.
Its a great book full of myths and legends which are more real than anyone imagines. The author describes the places in great detail that you can actually imagine you are there in that time period. Where myths and legends become reality.
The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavallaro is jam packed with so many of my favorite things that I don’t know where to start. Certain historical fiction definitely pulls me in but throw in the heavy hand of Greek Mythology and I am plum in heaven. This book follows Evan as he makes his way in a whole new world of ancient Greece. When I found out his father was Zeus I may have been a tad jealous. Evan is on a mission to find lost relics and help keep the mystical creatures and powers of the world he is in alive and strong. I loved the adventures we followed him on as he would battle through anything with such fervor that you could feel his emotions come off the screen of the kindle as you read I am very much looking forward to seeing what else may be available by Luciana Cavallaro, and to get my hands on the next book in this series!

The Labyrinthine Journey is the second book in the Servant of the Gods series by Luciana Cavallaro. It is an epic fantasy filled with adventure, ancient history, mythology, gods, drama, danger, prophecy, ancient relics, and more. Even though this is the second book in the series and continues Evan’s adventure, Ms. Cavallaro does a great job of ‘catching us up’ on the events in book one- so this can be read as a standalone if that’s what you wanted, without feeling lost in the story.
Ms. Cavallaro’s attention to detail and obvious love of ancient history really brings this story to life. She proves to be quite knowledgeable about this era- and all the wonderful descriptive detail and snippets of history really add to the atmosphere and feel of the story. It was so easy to be ‘in’ the story, and ‘see’ everything as it was unfolding. I love ancient history, and that was one of the things that drew me to this book.
Evan is a 21st century architect who has been transported through time, back to ancient Greece- where he finds himself on a mission from the Gods. This quest, to find the ancient relics and save the Gods, proves to be quite the epic adventure. It will test him like nothing before, and he will need to dig deep if he is to succeed, and survive.
Looking forward to book #3!
Thank you, Luciana Cavallaro!
The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods Book 2) by Luciana Cavallaro. This is the 2nd book in the Servant of the Gods series and its so good. In this installment we find that Evan’s new life is in ancient Greece and he’s afraid he will never see his home again. Evan is born to divine parents but he is completely human and his enemies are so much more powerful than he is. He has been taken from his normal world and thrown into a world with mythical creatures, fabled warriors and sorcery. Evan must take a wild trek around ancient times Greece with one goal in mind…to save the Olympian Gods from destruction. Evan has to accept that Zeus is his father, endure terrible pain and accept help from the Mother Goddess all in his quest to preserve the legacy of the gods by recovering 2 ancient sacred relics. If he does this Zeus may allow him to return home. Will Evan succeed or will he be stuck in this crazy ancient Greek world forever. This was a fast paced adventure that I’m sure you will love.
I am a huge history fan with a soft spot for mythology. And when this book fell into my hands I couldn’t believe my luck. I jumped into the series with this book (and now will be running to pick up book one) and was immediately transported to ancient mythology. I was fascinated by Evan and his struggle (and what an understandable struggle it is). The quest was epic, which when involving mythology it always should be. I was riveted and very much pulled into this epic adventure. Again I can’t wait to go back and read book one. And I look forward to reading more from this author.
This is a very well written book. This take you into ancient Greece and the mythology around it takes you in a journey of stopping destruction. This is Evans second quest and is portayed as a very strong character. You won’t want to put this book down once you start reading it. Ripped out of his 21st century life to go on a quest how to get back to his own time will he succeed.
As Evan continues to voyage on as Servant of the Gods in the Labyrinthine Journey. He’s still attempting to find the revered object adds insistence and uneasiness between he and his allies, the Atlanteans. Evan is at a crossroads and must learn to adapt but he’s butting heads with Zeus and he’s at odds with his surroundings which could derail the way he lives his life and could implode all around him.
Crossing through the mountain-like terrain of the Peloponnese and Corinthian Gulf in the middle of the spiritual world where he meets Pythia, Oracle of Delphi who share a life-altering prophecy from both of his worlds which change in the process.
Will Evan and his friends succeed in their mission to find the artifacts and save the world as they know it?
The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavallaro is the second book in the Servant of the Gods series. I did read this as a stand-alone book although I would recommend reading the previous book first to get a better understanding and build up.
The book was very well written. It was so easy to imagine the scenes and the get a feel for the characters. The author has created an interesting and diverse world that feels so accurate for the time it it set in.
I really enjoyed reading about Evan. He is such a relatable and engaging character. You automatically get behind him and want him to find a way back home.
This is the first book I have read by this author but it certainly won’t be the last.
